.... the water rushing to the wellhead,
filling the pitcher until it spills . . .
Well, we were hit hard by Storm Ciara as it swept across both the sea and land! I did go for a walk to see how bad it was down at the beach and, oh my, it was bad!!

Thanks to everyone who views this photo, adds a note, leaves a comment and of course BIG thanks to anyone who chooses to favourite my photo .... Thanks to you all!
Well its about that time of year again that I find myself having registered to display at a show and realised I've done nothing with lego cause all my time is spent at uni or playing guitar or riding motorbikes.
Anyways for the past few years I've been building up my collection with a particular focus on small grey bits because I love castle, and I came to the realisation I now have quite a lot, so my aim for this build was to use as much of it as possible in a single creation! Plus I love gothic churches, I've always wanted to build one. If anyones in Wellington for Brickcon NZ on June 2-3, check it out along side some of my older creations!
Enjoy!

"I Love Lucy" is one of the most beloved TV shows. This half-hour sitcom was the most watched TV show for four of the six years that it was shown, running in black-and-white from 1951-1957. In 2012 it was voted the "Best TV Show of All-time" (poll by ABC News and People Magazine).
The characters were: Lucy Ricardo (portrayed by Lucille Ball), Ricky Ricardo (Desi Arnaz), Ethel Mertz (Vivian Vance), and Fred Mertz (William Frawley). There were 180 regular episodes, with 13 additional one-hour episodes from 1957-1960. To this day, "Lucy" episodes are seen in reruns.
This mural was seen in Jamestown, New York, hometown of Lucille Ball. There are numerous murals, statues and museums in the area honoring this iconic show.
#i-wish for fresh new beginnings . . . .
🌻 Daisy flowers represent a new dawn and star of something amazing and new. They close their petals each night and open them up every morning, which can also be a symbol for a new beginning in life.
... I will share my woolgathering moments.

Since I'm going in the hospital Monday for surgery I thought I'd do a little Fall decorating today. I got the fence used from someone and painted it today. Then I added the Fall leaves garland and scarecrow. This is behind a new garden John and I made today that is full of beautiful Mums. It is at the corner of our driveway close to the road. I'll be away five to ten days. Hopefully, all will go well and I'll be back in a week!! I'll miss all of you during this time. I will have my laptop with me in the hospital but I don't know if I can get online there or not. If I can I'll let you all know how it all goes. I'd appreciate your prayers! Thanks friends!!

Today is the first time I have been out on a photo shoot for ages. I went to somewhere not too far away but where I have never been before and I wouldn't have found it without my GPS!
The sun has some warmth in it at last and every day there is a slight thaw so my spirits are slowly rising. I never saw another soul all morning!
Hope you like it because shots from here might be all I upload for a while :-)
I like longing
climbing up the railings of sound and color
catching into my open mouth
the frozen scent
I like my loneliness
suspended higher
than a bridge
embracing the sky with its arms
and my love walking barefoot over the snow

Another day, another leaf tuned. Fallen Colour is a series celebrating and documenting autumnal leaves once they have left the tree. Focus stack of 3 images.

I was up early this morning hoping for a little golden hour light once the sun rose to get some much needed practice in before June, but as the sky became brighter I realized my hopes for any morning golden light across the fields was not going to happen. I began packing my camera away when I noticed a bright orange spot on the horizon. And as much as I have moved away from chasing sunrise/sunset shots I still cannot resist pointing the camera at a dramatic sky and snapping a few frames.
**Photographer Critique: Is this a wall worthy image, probably not. But for some reason it soothes my creative soul. I suppose seeing the morning colors like this just brings a inner warmth to me. I guess it puts my day into a good mood. ;-)
I will carry you through darkness
‘Til we see the sun again
Know that I am with you here
When you can’t lift that weight
Believe me when I say I will

It's been a amazing year. I have had the opportunity to see/photograph many places within this year........ from hidden petroglyphs in the Eastern Sierras, to the black sand beaches of Hawaii. Each image that I have taken the light was completely different. The light was never the same, always changing, challenging me to utilize every technique that I know to capture the scene how I visioned it. Each image brings back memories. With every image I learned something new. I can see the growth within. I want to continue to learn, and see the seeds continue to blossom. It's been a long journey......a journey that I will continue to seek.............there is much to be learned within this journey.
Just wanted to say thank you to all of my contacts that have showed their support this past year. I have made many friends here, and hope that next year will be the same. I look forward to more meet ups in the future with my flickr contacts. I can't believe that this year is already over, it's gone by so fast. I can't wait to see what next year brings. Thanks again everyone for your support, Happy New Years!
peace and love

Any girl who isn't me tonight. From West side story.
I first saw this show in London when I got engaged and I was 16! I fell in love with the tragedy of the story and the music. This image just reminded me of the sheer vibrancy of West Side Story.............
The Cabo da Roca Lighthouse is located in the westernmost cape of continental Europe, and it's a true symbol of the place. It dates back to the 18th century, and it's the third-oldest lighthouse along the Portuguese coast.

The Naviglio Pavese is one of the canals making up the Navigli system in Lombardy, Italy. Once navigable, it is 33 km (21 mi) long and connected the city of Milan to Pavia, and through a flight of six locks to the River Ticino.
Construction started in 1564, but was interrupted 20 years later just outside Milan due to technical problems: the lock there is still called Conca Fallata, which in Italian means "Failed Lock". Building resumed at the beginning of the 19th century and was completed in 1819.
The canal was finally closed to navigation in the 1960s, but work has recently started to restore it back to full navigation, a link in the project to connect Switzerland to Venice by inland waterway.

You know I got this feeling that I just can’t hide
I try to tell you how I feel
I try to tell you but I’m weak
Words don’t come easily
When you get close I shiver
I watch you when you smile
I watch you when you cry
And I still don’t understand
I can’t find the way to tell you
I wish I was your lover
I wish that you were mine
Baby I got this feeling
That I just can’t hide
Don’t try to run away
There’s many things I wanna say
No matter how it ends
Just hold me when I tell you
I wish I was your lover
I wish that you were mine
Baby I got this feeling
That I just can’t hide
I wish I was your lover
I wish that you were mine
Baby I got this feeling
Wish I Was Your Lover lyrics on
That I just can’t hide
ALL I need is a miracle
Oh baby all I need is you
All I need is a love you give
Oh baby all I need is you
Baby you
I wish I was your lover
I wish that you were mine
Baby I got this feeling
That I just can’t hide
I wish I was your lover ( I wish I was your lover)
I wish that you were mine
Baby I got this feeling
That I just can’t hide
I wish I was your lover
I wish that you were mine
Baby I got this feeling
That I just can’t hide
Just wanna be your lover
Just wanna be the one
Let me be the lover
Let me be the one
Yeah Yeah
Well, I was not, I was taking a photograph, and some other people were sailing. But the name of the song that I sang hundreds and hundreds of times growing up (it must have been included in a primary school music textbook) came to my head when scanning my mind for a title. Lake Geneva on a beautiful autumn day.Minor editing - the original was too underexposed even for my - in this regard - dark taste.
I love myself I want you to love me
When I feel down I want you above me
I search myself I want you to find me
I forget myself I want you to remind me
I don't want anybody else
When I think about you I touch myself
Ooh I don't want anybody else
Oh no, oh no, oh no

I think of you
When the morning comes and the nighttime goes away (all day)
Don't you ever think that we won't be okay (no way)
There is nothing stopping me from loving you
Touching and rubbing and kissing and hugging you
luv des song =p ..
.. taken by : me
You gave me a reason for my being
And I love what I’m feeling
You gave new meaning to my life
Yes, I’ve gone beyond existing
And it all began
When I met you…

............a truly fascinating organism.
So here are a few 'facts' which you probably already knew but if not, you’ll ponder how you’ve made it this far through life.
Lichens appear plant like but are a symbiotic association between a fungus and an algae or cyanobacterium.
There are over 15 000 species and can colonise a diverse array of habitats from rocks, trees and deserts to the carapace of beetles, for which they provide camouflage.
The composite body of a lichen is called a thallus, note the spelling, and is attached to the rock, tree, whatever, by hairlike growths called rhizines.
Growth is painfully slow at a rate of 1-2mm per year and they can survive quite a long time, some Antarctic lichens have estimated ages of up to 5,000 years old. No wonder they may be described as crustose.
At 8% lichens cover more of the planet’s surface area than the tropical rainforests, (not surprising considering the rate at which we are destroying that habitat) and if you were to lay every lichen end to end…….…. well, that would be a very pointless exercise.
Considered a delicacy amongst herbivores, lichens feature as the signature dish on the 17-course tasting menu at ‘Caribou’, the Michelin starred restaurant of the innovative chef Rudolph Ungulate. Described as ‘delicately seared fruticose lichen encircled by a mooseline of hand foraged wild truffle with a Tundra berry jus’. Sounds delicious?
Without roots, lichens derive their nutrients from the air and as such they are sensitive to pollution, particularly from Nitrogen and Sulphur dioxide which makes them good indicators of air quality. Butterflies, frogs and toads are also very good indicators of environmental pollutants, but lichens are easier to catch.
I hope you enjoyed this foray onto the fascinating world of lichens and may I suggest that you bookmark this post as a handy referral tool for those long nights when insomnia strikes.
Oh, those eyes definitely are saying "Go on, come closer."
Every time I go on safari I am reminded by the guides of the fact that more humans are killed by hippos than any other animal.
The Okavango Delta has so many channels and lagoons so they have many water oles to enjoy and places to hide.

Last week I was in San Diego to help train some of the folks at Best Buy. One of the more extensive retail training programs I have ever seen, Best Buy takes key people out of their store for a week... flies them to someplace like San Diego. There they spend time with professional photographers and manufacturer's reps learning the gear and techniques needed to talk with you.
One of the stops was "Action".
I wish I was the soft breeze
That wand into your arms and freeze
I wish I was that kid
To smile to me the way you did
I wish I was the light
To lead you through the night
I wish I was your shadow
To always be your fellow
I wish I was your favorite song
To play me all day long
I wish I was your wallet
To always be in your pocket
I wish to be anything my dear
Just to be a second near
