Dopo aver accettato l’opera della fine dei tempi di Dio Onnipotente, grazie alla lettura delle parole di Dio e all’ascolto dei sermoni, giunsi a comprendere l’importanza del cercare di essere una persona onesta nella propria fede, e che solo diventando una persona di tal fatta era possibile guadagnare la salvezza di Dio. Iniziai, pertanto, a praticare l’onestà nella vita reale. Dopo un po’, scoprii che ero riuscita almeno in parte a entrare in questa disposizione d’animo. Per esempio: mentre pregavo o parlavo con qualcuno, ero capace di dire la verità e le parole mi sgorgavano dal cuore; potevo anche compiere il mio dovere con serietà e, quando rivelavo la corruzione, riuscivo ad aprirmi con altre persone. Per questo motivo, pensavo che essere una persona onesta fosse una cosa abbastanza facile da praticare e per niente ardua come le parole di Dio tendevano a dimostrare: “Molti preferirebbero essere condannati all’inferno piuttosto che parlare e agire onestamente” (“Tre ammonimenti” in La Parola appare nella carne). Solo in un secondo momento riuscii a comprendere attraverso diverse esperienze che non era davvero facile per noi, esseri umani corrotti, essere persone oneste. Le parole di Dio erano assolutamente vere e per nulla esagerate.

Great Northern Steamship Company, 1900-1918
Great Northern Pacific Steamship Company, 1914-1917 Portland, Oregon
Both lines these lines were founded by James Jerome Hill to promote business for his Great Northern & Northern Pacific Railways, of which they were subsidiaries.
The Great Northern Steamship Co. was a transpacific line out of Portland, while the Great Northern Pacific Steamship Co. ran coastwise steamers from Portland to San Francisco. The two lines were highly publicized and promoted, but ultimately were business failures owing to Hill's lack of understanding of the shipping business.
The Great Northern Steamship Co. was founded in 1900 and ordered two ships from the Eastern Shipbuilding Company at New London, Connecticutt for services from Portland to Japan the ships were completed in 1904 and 1905 after a long building period and at that time they were biggest passenger vessels built in the United States.
The active career of the Great Northern Steamship Company came to an end in March 1918, but the company remained in existence until September 1927. After 43 voyages, the net loss to the company was $2,887,982.19.
The Great Northern Pacific Steamship Company was formed on September 30, 1914. The line was to compliment the passenger train service on the Astoria Line and compete with the Southern Pacific trains to San Francisco.
The company operated two ships. During the winter season of 1915-1916, the ships also ran to Hawaii. The service was not a success and the line was for sale when World War I intervened. The U.S. government commandeered the ships on September 17, 1917, this was the end of the Great Northern Pacific Steamship Company.

Before I get into the details, let me make a strong request — if you’re looking at these photos, and if you are getting any enjoyment at all of this brief look at some mundane Americana from 60+ years ago: find a similar episode in your own life, and write it down. Gather the pictures, clean them up, and upload them somewhere on the Internet where they can be found. Trust me: there will come a day when the only person on the planet who actually experienced those events is you. Your own memories may be fuzzy and incomplete; but they will be invaluable to your friends and family members, and to many generations of your descendants.
So, what do I remember about the year that I spent in Omaha? Not much at the moment, though I’m sure more details will occur to me in the days to come — and I’ll add them to these notes, along with additional photos that I’m tweaking and editing now.
For now, here is a random list of things I remember:
1. I attended the last couple months of 6th grade, and all of 7th grade, in one school. My parents moved from Omaha to Long Island, NY in the spring of my 7th grade school year; but unlike previous years, they made arrangements for me to stay with a neighbor’s family, so that I could finish the school year before joining them in New York.
2. Our dog, Blackie, traveled with us from our previous home in Riverside, and was with us until my parents left Omaha for New York; at that point, they gave him to some other family. For some reason, this had almost no impact on me. It was a case of “out of sight, out of mind” — when Blackie was gone, I spent my final three months in Omaha without ever thinking about him again.
3. Most days, I rode my bike to school; but Omaha was the place where one of my sisters first started attending first grade — in the same school where I was attending 6th grade. I remember walking her to school along Bellevue Avenue on the first morning, which seemed to take forever: it was about a mile away.
4. As noted in a previous Flickr album about my year in Riverside, I was a year younger than my classmates; but I was tall for my age, and thus looked “normal” at a quick glance. But because I was a year younger, I was incredibly shy and awkward in the presence of girls. Omaha was certainly not “sin city,” but by 6th grade and 7th grade, puberty was beginning to hit, and the girls had grown to the point where they were occasionally interested in boys. The school tried to accommodate this social development by teaching us the square dance (and forbidding the playing of songs by Elvis Presley, whose music was just beginning to be heard on the radio). I was an awful dancer, and even more of a shy misfit than my classmates; I continue to be an awful dancer today.
5. My bike ride to school was uneventful most days; but the final part of the ride was a steep downhill stretch on Avery Road, lasting three or four blocks. My friends and I usually raced downhill as fast as we could; but one day, my front bicycle wheel began to wobble on the downhill run, and my bike drifted uncontrollably to the side of the road and then off into a ditch. I got banged up pretty badly.
6. But this accident was nothing compared to my worst mishap: a neighborhood friend and I enjoyed playing “cowboys and Indians” in the woods near his home (and his younger brother usually tagged along). I had a bow and a few arrows for our adventure, and we often shot at trees a hundred feet away. Unfortunately, the arrows often disappeared into the underbrush (because we were lousy shots) and were difficult to find. Consequently, one of us came up with the clever idea of standing behind the “target” tree, so that we could see where the randomly-shot arrows landed. Through a series of miscommunications, I poked my head out from behind the tree just as my friend shot one of the arrows … and it skipped off the side of the tree and into my face, impaling itself into my cheek bone about an inch below my eye. An inch higher, and I would not be typing these words … (meanwhile, my friend's younger brother grew up to be an officer in the U.S. Air Force, and he tracked me down on the Internet, decades later).
7. In the summer of 1956, my parents decided to spend their summer vacation prospecting for uranium (seriously!) in the remote hills of eastern Utah, where my dad had grown up on the Utah-Colorado border. This entailed a long, long drive from Omaha; and it involved leaving me and my two sisters with my grandparents near Vernal, UT. My grandparents lived in a very small mining village outside of Vernal; and while they had electricity and various other modern conveniences, they also had an outhouse in the back yard. Trips to the “bathroom” in the middle of the night were quite an adventure. On the way back to Omaha at the end of this vacation trip (with no uranium ore having been found), we stopped for a couple of days of camping somewhere in the mountains of Colorado; you’ll see a couple of photos from that camping trip in this album.
8. There were no lizards in Omaha, and thus no opportunity for lizard-hunting with my slingshot—which had been a significant hobby in my previous homes in Riverside and Roswell. Indeed, there was almost nothing to shoot at … and I couldn’t find anyone with whom I could play (and hopefully win) marbles, to use as slingshot ammunition. But for reasons I never questioned or investigated (but about which I’m very curious now), there was a small vineyard in the field behind our house, and I was able to climb over the fence and retrieve dozens of small, hard, green grapes. They turned out to be excellent ammunition … but I never did find any lizards.
9. A few months before my parents left for New York, I told them about the latest craze sweeping the neighborhood: “English bikes,” with three speeds, thin tires, and hand-brakes. I desperately wanted one, but Dad said it was far too expensive for him to buy as a frivolous gift for me: at the time, English bikes had an outrageous price tag of $25. I was told that I would have to earn the money myself if I wanted one … and the going rate for young, scrawny kids who shoveled sidewalks, pulled weeds from gardens, and did babysitting chores, was 25 cents per hour. That works out to 100 hours of work … but I did it, over the course of the next few months, and when I got to New York, the first thing I did was buy my English bike.
10. Toward the end of my 7th-grade school year, everyone in my class was subjected to a vision test: we were lined up in alphabetical order, and one-by-one read off a series of letters that we could barely see on a large placard taped onto the classroom blackboard. Because my surname starts with a “Y,” I was usually near the end of the line … and by the time I got to the front, I had usually memorized the letters (because they never bothered to change them, from one student to the next) without even realizing it consciously. But on this particular occasion in 7th grade, for some reason, they decided to line us up in reverse alphabetical order … and I was the first in line. For the first time in my life, I realized that I could not see anything of the letters, and that I was woefully near-sighted. When I got to New York, my parents took me to an optometrist to get my first set of glasses (and, yes, all of the neighborhood kids did begin taunting me immediately: “Four eyes! Four eyes!”) … and I’ve worn glasses ever since.
11. Three years after I arrived in New York, the glasses saved my vision when a home-brewed mix of gunpowder and powdered aluminum blew up in my face in the school chemistry lab (where I had an after-school volunteer job as a “lab assistant”). I suffered 2nd-degree burns on my face from the explosion, but the glasses protected my eyes. That, however, is a different story for a different time.

GV II* DATES/ARCHITECTS: Crossing tower is late C13 or earlier, the rest of the building was rebuilt c.1330-40. It was restored in 1873, 1892 by J O Scott and again in 1904-5, also to designs by Scott.
MATERIALS: Stone rubble with stone dressings, some repairs in brick. Tiled and slated roofs.
PLAN: Cruciform, with central tower, chancel, N and S transepts, unaisled nave and S porch.
EXTERIOR A cruciform church with a tall, slender central tower which retains the scars of earlier, very steeply pitched roofs on its E and W faces. The tower has an embattled parapet, rebuilt in the C19, and two light late C14 bell openings. There are small, rectangular openings below the roof scars on E and W, possibly inserted after the roofs were lowered. The rest of the church is largely C14 in appearance, but has been heavily restored and partially rebuilt. The chancel has a large 3-light E window with Decorated-style tracery, wholly rebuilt in 1904, and renewed 2-light Decorated N and S windows. There is a large, square headed window on the chancel S, blocked in brick, and a blocked pointed headed window and a blocked door in the chancel N wall. The scar of the roof of a former N vestry is visible against the E wall of the N transept. The C15 door to the former vestry survives. The transepts have Decorated N and S windows, that on the S wholly renewed, and curious small blocked openings, apparently formerly squints providing a view into the transepts from the outside. There is a large, blocked, probably C15 window in the S transept W wall. The nave has renewed C14 windows with intersecting tracery, and a large C15-style W window, almost renewed. The S porch has a C15 or C16 outer arch and C14 S door with continuous mouldings and an ogee hood-mould with head stops and foliate finial.
INTERIOR Wide, unaisled nave. In the NE corner is an unusual early C20 timber stair rising from the former rood loft door and running up to a door to the tower ringing chamber. The central tower has pointed arches of two orders in each face. The outer orders are continuously chamfered, and the inner orders stand on half-round attached shafts with moulded capitals and bases, probably C13. The tower is noticeably narrower than the nave, transepts and chancel, and in the nave the W tower arch is flanked by doors into the transepts with shallow relieving arches over pointed heads on shafted jambs. Both transepts are now closed to the tower by timber screens; that to the N has been divided into toilets and service facilities, but retains an early C15 E door to the former vestry and a small, blocked opening of the late C15 or early C16 that was formerly an external squint. The entrance to the former rood stair is from the N transept and remains in use as access to the ringing chamber. The S transept has a similar blocked opening, and part of the jamb of a blocked window is visible in the W wall. The chancel floor has been significantly raised, and only the upper part of the former chancel N door is now visible.
PRINCIPAL FIXTURES Font, plain round tub shape with a stepped base, C12 or C13. The cover is probably C17 and has a turned post and shaped brackets. C14 piscina with a trefoiled head in the N transept, cinquefoiled piscina in the S transept, and a piscina in the chancel partially blocked by the raised floor. Square aumbry with rebate for a door in chancel N wall. Unusual and interesting royal arms of 1742 painted directly onto the plaster over the chancel arch; the outer GR2 was changed to ER2 in 1953 for the Coronation of Elizabeth II. Some C19 and early C20 glass, the most notable a figure of St Nicholas in the NE nave window. E window of 1921 by Powell and Sons.
In the chancel, a group of monuments to the Hanmer family. The most notable are Job Hanmer, d. 1738, an architectural wall tablet by Bayliss; and Sir Walden Hanmer, d.1789, by John Bacon, a large monument with a white marble mourning figure of Justice in a roundel and an achievement of arms against a black obelisk; white marble base with fluted columns. Also in the chancel, loose within the former piscina, a broken round headstone for William Gale, d.1638 (an early example of such).
C15 nave roof with hammer beam trusses at the E and W ends and three intermediate trusses with arched braces to the collars. The lower edges of the beams are moulded, but the upper parts are rough and unshaped. Windbraces in two tiers. Transept roofs of the C17, with plain trusses and reused beams. Chancel roof is C19, with short king posts and moulded ribs dividing boarded panels with simple painted decoration.
HISTORY Simpson is mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086, but the church is not recorded. The first mention of the church is in the early C13, and the earliest surviving fabric is the late C13 tower arches, although the font is probably significantly earlier. The church was wholly rebuilt around the tower in the second quarter of the C14, and there were further works in the late middle ages including reroofing the nave, building the S porch and the former N vestry, now demolished. There was additional work in the C17, when the transepts were reroofed and the font cover made. The church was restored in stages in the late C19 and early C20. Work included underpinning the tower, restoring the transepts and rebuilding the chancel roof in 1873; the E wall of the chancel was wholly rebuilt in 1904; the S transept S window was entirely renewed in 1999. The church was amalgamated with four others, not all Anglican, to form the Woughton Ecumenical parish in 1977.
REASONS FOR DESIGNATION The church of St Thomas, Simpson, is designated at Grade II* for the following principal reasons: * Cruciform parish church, with slender C13 tower and wide nave, transepts and chancel of the C14, retaining much medieval fabric. * It possesses interesting fittings, such as the C13 font with C17 cover, and monuments. * Its unusual C15 nave roof is of particular note.

The Eurasian Curlew (Numenius arquata) is a wader in the large family Scolopacidae. It is one of the most widespread of the curlews, breeding across temperate Europe and Asia. In Europe, this species is often referred to just as the "curlew", and in Scotland known as the "whaup" in Scots. The familiar call is a loud curloo-oo.
The only similar species over most of the curlew's range is the Whimbrel (N. phaeopus). The Whimbrel is smaller and has a shorter bill with a kink rather than a smooth curve. Flying curlews may also resemble, albeit not existing in the same area, Bar-tailed Godwits (Limosa lapponica) in their winter plumages; however, the latter have a smaller body, a slightly upturned beak, and legs that do not reach far beyond their tail tips. The Eurasian curlew's feet are longer, forming a conspicuous "point". The curlew exists as a migratory species over most of its range, wintering in Africa, southern Europe and south Asia. Occasionally a vagrant individual reaches places far from its normal range, such as Nova Scotia and the Marianas. It is present all year in the milder climates of Ireland, the United Kingdom and its adjacent European coasts.
Formerly classified as a species of Least Concern by the IUCN, it was suspected to be rarer than generally assumed. Following the evaluation of its population size, the classification was found to be incorrect, and it was consequently promoted to Near Threatened status in 2008. Though it is a common bird, its numbers are noticeably declining. In Ireland, the breeding population is estimated to have declined by 86% in the last 30 years. (wikipedia)
The haunting cry of the Curlew is one of the most evocative and memorable sounds of the Irish landscape. For me, it is the sound of my childhood, when I would be out birdwatching during the winter months around Cork Harbour.
Sadly, these iconic birds have been suffering severe declines for many years in Ireland. Whilst they are still a regular sight along our coasts in winter when migrant birds from northern Europe come here to take advantage of our relatively mild winters, feeding in our estuaries and wetlands in large numbers, it is our resident breeding population that is now in danger of extinction. A terrible indictment of the country's (and governments) attitude to our natural heritage. Ireland's reputation for being "green" is, sadly, built on a myth.

This individual was feeding along the estuary in Dublin Bay before the rising tide forced the bird to fly over the Wooden Bridge and into the North Bull Island in Co. Dublin.
I originally started this build back in the end of November with the intention of entering it into the Colossal Castle Contest. But, life got very busy, and I ended up running out of time. So when they extended the deadline to January 31st, I used that as motivation to finish the half-completed monstrosity that was taking up the majority of my desk. There are still some things I would revise a bit if I had more time, (particularly some of the interior areas) but all in all I’m very happy to have it finished! And I’m also super glad to have finally done another sizable build set in Allanar Forest. The build was inspired by this wonderful artwork by Myoung Hoon Park.
The Dwelves’ primary mine is located on the west edge of Allanar Forest. These days Goren generally oversees mining operations, but the massive lodge is used for much more than just mining. Added on to and repaired many times over the years, the structure is a welcome sight for any dwelves traveling through that part of the forest. From offering shelter and accommodation for hunters, to warmth and a hearty meal for herdsman moving animals between pastures, the ancient building is a true landmark and great place to meet with old friends.

Visiting dignitaries are often given an honorary "Key to the City" by the mayor.
On the practical level, to be given a key by an employer implies their trust that we will use that key responsibly. In today's first reading, God takes the Key of David away from Shebna, the master of the palace of King Hezekiah, and gives it to a worthier man, Eliakim. Shebna had really "messed-up"—he had torn down houses of the poor for material for the city walls, and he had arrogantly built himself a showy tomb for all to admire! So God took away his sign of power and authority, his Key.
Isn't it interesting that Jesus, in the Gospel, is also concerned about the Keys to the Kingdom—and gives them to Peter, the Rock? At the same time, He makes Peter the head of His "Church" (the only time this word is used in the New Testament), an assembly so strong that Hell itself will not be able to destroy it. With that key, Peter and his successors will have the power to lock and unlock the gates of heaven. Many bishops and priests through the centuries will use those keys, even though they are weak and fragile themselves. Many have failed in the responsible use of those keys. Christ foresaw all of this when He first entrusted the keys to Peter!
But the power and responsibility are shared in a real sense with all the baptized. To us also have been given the keys to the kingdom of heaven. With those keys we may unlock the doors of forgiveness through the Sacrament of Reconciliation; with those keys we can unlock the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit, given us at Confirmation, and to us have been given the keys to the source and summit of grace, strength, and happiness, the Holy Eucharist. With those keys we can unlock the doors of hearts that others may be nourished with God's love and truth. What power lies behind those keys!
What if we abuse the privilege? What then?
Some time ago, a teenager I knew, failed to show up at his parents' home at the appointed time. He, not thinking of the worry he was causing, was still at his buddy's place. To his dismay, he saw his mother appear. Without a word, she took his car keys away from him. (I never did hear how he made it back home). How embarrassing for that young man, although he was merely thoughtless, and felt he was doing the right thing by spending time with his friend.
Even though we may be merely thoughtless in our neglect of the Sacraments and of so many opportunities to share the treasure of our faith with others, we are taking a huge risk of losing those keys. Isn't it possible that God could take those keys away from us, like He did to Shebna, and give them to others who would use them responsibly?
Life is so short!
Thank you, God, for entrusting to me the Keys to eternal life. Let me never, through carelessness or sin, risk their being taken from me! Help me to responsibly use the power, share the treasures, and respect the authority of those Keys always!

History
Portland Bill and Chesil Beach are the graveyards of many vessels that failed to reach Weymouth or Portland Roads. The Portland Race is caused by the meeting of the tides between the Bill and the Shambles sandbank about 3 miles SE. Strong currents break the sea so fiercely that from the shore a continuous disturbance can be seen. Portland Bill Lighthouse guides vessels heading for Portland and Weymouth through these hazardous waters as well as acting as a waymark for ships navigating the English Channel. The Shambles sandbank is marked by a red sector light.
As early as 1669 Sir John Clayton was granted a patent to erect a lighthouse, but his scheme fell through and it was not until early in the eighteenth century that Captain William Holman, supported by the shipowners and Corporation of Weymouth, put a petition to Trinity House for the building of a lighthouse at Portland Bill. Trinity House opposed it suggesting that lights at this point were needless and shipowners could not bear the burden of their upkeep. The people of Weymouth continued their petition and on 26th May, 1716 Trinity House obtained a patent from George I. They in turn issued a lease for 61 years to a private consortium who built two lighthouses with enclosed lanterns and coal fires. The lights were badly kept, sometimes not lit at all, and in 1752 an inspection was made by two members of the Board of Trinity House who approached by sea to find "it was nigh two hours after sunset before any light appeared in either of the lighthouses". With the termination of the lease the lights reverted to Trinity House. In 1789 William Johns, a builder of Weymouth under contract to Trinity House, took down one of the towers and erected a new one at a cost of £2,000. It was sited so that it served as a mark by day or night to direct ships moving up and down Channel or into Portland Roads clear of the Race and Shambles. Over the doorway on a marble tablet was the following inscription:-

In August 1788 Argand lamps were installed, Portland being the first lighthouse in England to be fitted with them. In the upper or old house there were two rows, seven in each row, lighted with oil and furnished with highly-polished reflectors. Low light tests were made by Thomas Rogers with his new lens light, and six Argand lamps were installed, their lights increased by lenses.
In 1798, when Napoleon threatened invasion, two 18lb cannons were installed at the lighthouse.
A 7 metre tall white stone obelisk was built in 1844 at the Southern tip of Portland Bill as a warning of a low shelf of rock extending 30 metres South into the sea, which still stands near the current lighthouse.
New high and low lighthouses were built in 1869, but early last century Trinity House announced its intention of replacing them with a single tower - the present lighthouse. The old towers can still be seen from the outside - the low light, which is now a bird observatory and field centre, has retained its original appearance but the high light lantern has been removed.
The present optic at Portland Bill is very unusual as due to the arrangement of the panels the character gradually changes from one flash to four flashes between the bearings 221°and 224° and from four flashes to one flash between bearings 117° and 141°.
Portland Bill Lighthouse was demanned on 18th March 1996 when monitoring and control of the station was transferred to the Trinity House Operations & Planning Centre at Harwich.

For nearly 300 years a lighthouse has stood on Portland Bill to guide vessels heading for Portland and Weymouth and acting as a waymark for vessels navigating in the English Channel. A red sector light warns mariners of the hazardous Shambles Bank lying three miles offshore.
The ‘Lighthouse Visitor centre’ at Portland Bill is owned and operated independently from the actual tower lighthouse therefore there are occasions that the tower lighthouse would be closed to the public, whereas the ‘Lighthouse Visitor Centre’ would remain open. Tours of Portland Bill Lighthouse are organised by The Crown Estate under licence from the Corporation of Trinity House.

Huerto del Cura, la popularidad de este huerto se inició el año 1873 con un fenómeno no muy corriente, pues en ese año comenzaron a brotar del tronco de una palmera macho muchos hijuelos a la altura de 1,80 m, a primeros del siglo XX los hijos quedaron reducidos a siete, con lo que la palmera quedó tal y como puede verse en la actualidad.
En el año 1894 llegó al puerto de Alicante Elizabeth de Wittelsbach, esposa del emperador Francisco José de Austria y Hungría y más conocida popularmente como Sissi. Viajó a Elche, en donde le enseñaron el huerto. La emperatriz quedó profundamente impresionada cuando contempló la palmera, comentándole a su propietario (el capellán Castaño), que esa palmera tenía un poder y una fuerza digna de un imperio, aconsejándole que le pusiese un nombre. Luego de esta visita el capellán pensó en lo que había pasado, y empezó a llamarla, en su honor, Palmera Imperial. De este modo comenzó la tradición de dedicarle a algunos de los visitantes más ilustres las palmeras existentes en el Huerto.

Ο Παντοδύναμος Θεός λέει: «Στην Εποχή της Βασιλείας, ο Θεός χρησιμοποιεί τον λόγο για να αναγγείλει μια νέα εποχή, να αλλάξει τα μέσα του έργου Του και να επιτελέσει το έργο όλης της εποχής. Αυτή είναι η θεμελιώδης αρχή, σύμφωνα με την οποία ο Θεός εργάζεται στην Εποχή του Λόγου. Ενσαρκώθηκε για να μιλήσει από διαφορετικές οπτικές γωνίες, επιτρέποντας στον άνθρωπο να δει αληθινά τον Θεό, ο οποίος είναι ο Λόγος που εμφανίζεται στη σάρκα, και η σοφία και το θαύμα Του. Αυτό το έργο επιτελείται ώστε να επιτύχει πιο καλύτερα τους στόχους της κατάκτησης του ανθρώπου, της τελείωσης του ανθρώπου και τηςεξόντωσης του ανθρώπου. Αυτό είναι το πραγματικό νόημα της χρήσης του λόγου για την επιτέλεση του έργου στην Εποχή του Λόγου. Μέσω του λόγου, ο άνθρωπος καταφέρνει να γνωρίσει το έργο του Θεού, τη διάθεση του Θεού, την ουσία του ανθρώπου και σε τι οφείλει να εισέλθει ο άνθρωπος. Μέσω του λόγου, ολοκληρώνεται το σύνολο του έργου που ο Θεός επιθυμεί να επιτελέσει στην Εποχή του Λόγου. Μέσω του λόγου, ο άνθρωπος αποκαλύπτεται, αποκλείεται και δοκιμάζεται. Ο άνθρωπος έχει δει τον λόγο, έχει ακούσει τον λόγο και έχει επίγνωση της ύπαρξης του λόγου. Ως αποτέλεσμα, ο άνθρωπος πιστεύει στην ύπαρξη του Θεού. Ο άνθρωπος πιστεύει στην παντοδυναμία και τη σοφία του Θεού, καθώς και στην καρδιά του Θεού που είναι γεμάτη αγάπη για τον άνθρωπο, και στην επιθυμία Του να σώσει τον άνθρωπο. Μολονότι η λέξη ""λόγος"" είναι απλή και συνηθισμένη, ο λόγος που προέρχεται από το στόμα του ενσαρκωμένου Θεού συγκλονίζει ολόκληρο το σύμπαν. Ο λόγος Του μεταμορφώνει την καρδιά του ανθρώπου, τις αντιλήψεις και την παλαιά διάθεση του ανθρώπου, καθώς και την παλαιά εμφάνιση ολόκληρου του κόσμου. Μέσα από τις διάφορες εποχές, μόνο ο Θεός της σημερινής εποχής εργάζεται κατ’ αυτόν τον τρόπο, και μόνο Αυτός μιλά και σώζει τον άνθρωπο κατ’ αυτόν τον τρόπο. Εφεξής, ο άνθρωπος ζει υπό την καθοδήγηση του λόγου, ποιμαίνεται και εφοδιάζεται από τον λόγο. Ζει στον κόσμο του λόγου, ζει μέσα στο ανάθεμα και τις ευλογίες του λόγου του Θεού και υπάρχουν ακόμα περισσότεροι άνθρωποι που ζουν υπό την κρίση και την παίδευση του λόγου. Αυτός ο λόγος και αυτό το έργο είναι όλα χάριν της σωτηρίας του ανθρώπου, την επίτευξη του θελήματος του Θεού και την αλλαγή της αρχικής εμφάνισης του κόσμου της παλαιάς δημιουργίας. Ο Θεός δημιούργησε τον κόσμο με τον λόγο, οδηγεί τους ανθρώπους σε όλο το σύμπαν με τον λόγο, κατακτά και τους σώζει με τον λόγο. Εν τέλει, θα χρησιμοποιήσει τον λόγο για να θέσει τέλος σε ολόκληρο τον παλαιό κόσμο. Μόνο τότε θα ολοκληρωθεί πλήρως το σχέδιο διαχείρισης. Καθ’ όλη τη διάρκεια της Εποχής της Βασιλείας, ο Θεός χρησιμοποιεί τον λόγο για να επιτελέσει το έργο Του και να επιτύχει τα αποτελέσματα του έργου Του. Δεν κάνει τερατουργίες ούτε κάνει θαύματα. Απλώς επιτελεί το έργο Του μέσω του λόγου. Εξαιτίας του λόγου, ο άνθρωπος τρέφεται και εφοδιάζεται. Εξαιτίας του λόγου, ο άνθρωπος κερδίζει τη γνώση και την αληθινή εμπειρία. Ο άνθρωπος στην Εποχή του Λόγου έχει πράγματι λάβει εξαιρετικές ευλογίες. Ο άνθρωπος δεν υποφέρει από πόνους της σάρκας και απλώς απολαμβάνει την πλούσια προσφορά του λόγου του Θεού. Δεν χρειάζεται να αναζητήσει ή να ταξιδέψει, και βλέπει με άνεση την εμφάνιση του Θεού, Τον ακούει να μιλάει προσωπικά, λαμβάνει την προσφορά Του και να Τον βλέπει προσωπικά να επιτελεί το έργο Του. Ο άνθρωπος στο παρελθόν δεν ήταν σε θέση να τα απολαύσει αυτά, και δεν θα μπορούσε ποτέ να λάβει αυτές τις ευλογίες».
