Site description The site is a National Park covering 36,000 ha of the High Atlas, including the highest mountain in Morocco, Jbel Toubkal (4,167 m). Located only 60 km south of the town of Marrakech, the dramatic mountain scenery attracts thousands of visitors each year, many of whom climb Jbel Toubkal or trek elsewhere in the park. The mountain summits are often only slightly above the level of their surrounding high plateaus, which are separated by deep valleys. The park extends from 1,000 m upwards and therefore encompasses a range of vegetation-types, from forest to alpine meadow. Forest only covers 15% of the park, and consists mainly of the oldest Quercus rotundifolia stands in the High Atlas and Juniperus thurifera. Along the valleys, irrigated agriculture is practised and most of the park is used for extensive livestock-grazing.
More than 95 breeding species have been recorded, among them nine species of the Mediterranean North Africa biome. Thirteen raptors are recorded, among them Gypaetus barbatus, which definitely bred in the park until 1980. The Parc National de Toubkal is one of only two areas in Morocco where Apus caffer has been recorded breeding, and also holds several species with quite localized distributions in Africa, such as Rhodopechys sanguinea and Eremophila alpestris.
Conservation issues The National Park was created by 'Arrête viziriel' on 19 January 1942. Despite its protected status, the park has been facing growing pressures since the 1960s. Poaching has wiped out some species and overgrazing has destroyed or degraded much of the natural vegetation. Tourism has mushroomed and led to erosion of footpaths—on some days 30-40 tourists may be found together at one time on the summit of Jbel Toubkal, in spite of the long and arduous trek required to reach it. To counter these threats and safeguard wildlife, in the 1950s AEFCS created a reserve for Ammotragus lervia adjacent to the park, and in 1994 enclosed an area of 1,000 ha for the reintroduction of Gazella cuvieri. Both these measures have resulted in the protection of areas of forest habitat which are important for breeding birds. In 1994, a management plan for the park was drawn up under the auspices of AEFCS. Further conservation measures required include the training of local guides; the protection of nest-sites of the rarer bird species, particularly raptors; maintenance of trails to prevent erosion; and the establishment of grazing enclosures to protect endemic plant species.

The green areas of Aqaba, particularly the relatively dense vegetation and open ponds at the waste water treatment plant, attract hundreds of thousands (possibly millions) of migratory birds every spring and autumn comprised of more than 350 different species. Migratory birds flying from Europe to Africa in autumn visit suitable habitats in the region to make final preparations for the long journey across the Sahara desert. In the spring, migrants tend to land at any suitable habitat in the region, Aqaba being the first station they encounter after a long journey over the deserts of North Africa.
The Jordanian Society for Sustainable Development (JSSD) began the establishment of protected areas in Aqaba, in cooperation with the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority and the Aqaba Water Company. The Aqaba Bird Observatory is responsible for the monitoring and protection of the birds, and the JSSD set up a centre for visitors and a research centre at the Observatory.
A Visitors' Centre was constructed with an education room to implement the educational and awareness programs. The observatory has a research facility that will be used as a research centre.
Walking trails in the observatory will lead to the bird's hide, the major spot for watching birds. In addition, the observatory includes a nature garden that educates visitors about the native plants found in the Aqaba area and will support resident birds that depend on such habitats.

When it comes to manufacturing Kraft Macaroni & Cheese, nobody on this planet can do it as well as me.
That might sound like a bold, braggart statement, but it's not. It's simply the truth.
I've had others make this delicacy for me at various times in my life. Nobody, and I mean nobody can achieve the taste sensation I create time after time after time.
Those who have followed my photostream over the past couple years are very much aware of my limited cooking abilities and the problems I experience when simply peering into an open refrigerator.
Those problems magically vanish when I set my mind to cookin' up a delicious pot of Kraft Macaroni & Cheese.
And don't forget to sprinkle a hefty dose of Old Bay over the finished product!

Honfleur is a commune in the Calvados department in Normandy en.normandie-tourisme.fr/normandy-tourism-109-2.html in northwestern France. It is located on the southern bank of the estuary of the Seine across from le Havre and very close to the exit of the Pont de Normandie. Its inhabitants are called Honfleurais. It is especially known for its old, beautiful picturesque port, characterized by its houses with slate-covered frontages, painted many times by artists, including in particular Gustave Courbet, Eugène Boudin, Claude Monet and Johan Jongkind, forming the école de Honfleur (Honfleur school) which contributed to the appearance of the Impressionist movement. The Sainte-Catherine church, which has a bell tower separate from the principal building, is the largest church made out of wood in France. The first written record of Honfleur is a reference by Richard III, Duke of Normandy, in 1027. By the middle of the 12th century, the city represented a significant transit point for goods from Rouen to England. Located on the estuary of one of the principal rivers of France with a safe harbour and relatively rich hinterland, Honfleur profited from its strategic position from the start of the Hundred Years' War. The town's defences were strengthened by Charles V in order to protect the estuary of the Seine from attacks from the English. This was supported by the nearby port of Harfleur. However, Honfleur was taken and occupied by the English in 1357 and from 1419 to 1450. When under French control, raiding parties often set out from the port to ransack the English coasts, including partially destroying the town of Sandwich, in Kent, England, in the 1450s. At the end of the Hundred Years' War, Honfleur benefited from the boom in maritime trade until the end of the 18th century. Trade was disturbed during the wars of religion in the 16th century. The port saw the departure of a number of explorers, in particular in 1503 of Binot Paulmierde Gonneville to the coasts of Brazil. In 1506, local man Jean Denis departed for Newfoundland island and the mouth of the Saint Lawrence. An expedition in 1608, organised by Samuel de Champlain, founded the city of Quebec in modern day Canada. After 1608, Honfleur thrived on trade with Canada, the West Indies, the African coasts and the Azores. As a result, the town became one of the five principal ports for the slave trade in France. During this time the rapid growth of the town saw the demolition of its fortifications on the orders of Colbert. The wars of the French revolution and the First Empire, and in particular the continental blockade, caused the ruin of Honfleur. It only partially recovered during the 19th century with the trading of wood from northern Europe. Trade was however limited by the silting up of the entrance to the port and development of the modern port at Le Havre. The port however still functions today. Οι γλυκοπατάτες δεν είναι τόσο καλές όσο οι πατάτες, όσον αφορά στην ποιότητα, αλλά, και πάλι, μπορούν να χρησιμοποιηθούν ως βασική τροφή για να διατηρήσουν τα τρία γεύματά τους την ημέρα. There are two reasons why a person faces the sea.
One, to enjoy a slice of shine in the sea like children bubbling over in the beach.
The other, to brush the dust of memory like an old man who misses old days, staring at the shine
quietly.
Those lead to only one meaning though they do not seem to overlap. It’s a rebirth.
I face myself to change tomorrow, a vague day into something certain.
That is the meaning of a rebirth.
I had a very sweet girlfriend when I was 18.
After she left, I knew the meaning of gentleness for the first time and also a true pain of loss. After
she left, how many times did I depend too much on her, doubt her, envy her and keep on telling lies
until I realized it is love?
I wonder whether a nobody like me could have given something to her who was struggling in the
daily life in those days. Giving something is arrogant conceit. It is nothing but self-satisfaction.
I had been thinking about such a thing.
However, I guess what she saw in me was because I had nothing. That‘s why she tried to see
something in me. Perhaps she found a slight possibility in me, a guy filled with ambiguous, unstable
tomorrow. But I wasted days depending too much on her gentleness.
Now I finally can convey how I felt in those days when we met.

人が海へ向かう理由には、二つある。
ひとつは、波打ち際ではしゃぐ子供のように、今の瞬間の海の輝きを楽しむこと。
もうひとつは、その輝きを静かに見据えて、過ぎ去った日々を懐かしむ老人のように記憶の埃を払うこと。
二つは重なり合わないようではあるけれども、たったひとつの意味しか生まない。

デービッド・アトキンソン氏曰く、「日本の経営者は奇跡的無能」とのこと（近著）。
子供の時から暗記ばかりすると思考力が落ちる研究結果を地でゆく人種。
東大卒、東大に入れなかった早慶レベルも、ソニーなど、韓国人や中国人に勝てない「奇跡的」無能がバレつつある。
塾が地方にも増え、頭の良くないヤツがドーピング（塾通い）して、金と受験テクで東大に入っている。合格点が上がって、本当に頭のいい受験テクを使わずに高3だけで良い点が取れたギフテッド高校生が消えた（社会のどこかに埋もれている）。
失われた20年は、コイツらドーピング塾っ子が急増した世代（50代）が、企業の主力になったせいで、ずっと失われた・・・は続く。台湾人の方が賢くコミュ力も高い。
戦後の高度成長もアニメも音楽も、偏差値に関係ない人が中心。「本当の知性は、知識でなく想像力だ（アインシュタイン）」。
米国の大学は教育の本質をわかっているから、ドーピング中国人を排除し、レジュメや飛び級等で「恣意的に」選ぶ。
東大卒を官僚や政治家やマスコミ（言論自由指数、韓国より低い67位）など、答えのない仕事に就かせるべきでない。
子供の時から友達と遊ばずに塾に行くと、新興宗教の信者そっくりで点数・偏差値が人の価値と考える（欧米にそんな信者はいない）。
同級生を点数で見下すため、人格形成も失敗するようで、モラルもコミュ力も低く、「三流政治」が日本の伝統（東大法学部＝三流人材であることを自ら証明）。
海外で通用しない、大人になった暗記小僧は「思考しない」職に就かせるべき。林修氏のような答えのある塾講師でもして、開成や灘などの「奇跡的」無能な高校生を再生産する仕事しかない。
東大が人間性を審査する米国式にすれば、若者は自分が正しいと信じる生き方に時間がさける。若者も欧米人も教育の本質でないと思っている、暗記クイズ王試験の負担が減って、生来の長所を伸ばせる。
子供は減ったのだから、日本は中韓式の科挙を止めて、教育を点数＋恣意的審査に変えるべきだ（欧米は大学だけでなく企業も面接で、人間性などで恣意的に採用する。まさか朝日新聞の入社試験みたいに、就職まで暗記クイズ王試験などしない。）。

I had a solid handful of opportunities to photograph this particular tree during my recent stay in the lowcountry of South Carolina. On this particular evening however, the tree was not my initial target. The adventure began with my mother, also an avid photographer. Previous trips to the lowcountry had netted us each some great photographs of the Arthur Ravenel Jr. bridge from the Mount Pleasant side of the span. As such, we were trying to maximize our short visit by avoiding similar compositions and instead finding new vantages. We decided to walk up onto the bridge and photograph from up top, something neither of us had done before and somewhere both of us had seen neat photographs taken before. Arriving about an hour before sunset, we grabbed our packs and tripods and began the awkward walk up the pedestrian trail to the top of the bridge. Why awkward? Well, here we were, two severely overdressed and loaded down tourists, lugging the kitchen sink up a paved multi-use trail that was packed with bikers, runners and otherwise speedy individuals putting in some evening road work whizzing past us on both sides. The sunset skies were fizzling out and we each pretty much gave the other a look of question, and decided to bail. Down the trail we went, gear back in the car, and into traffic with the navi pointing back to Folly Beach.
Having made it back to the island without too much headache, we decided to head out to the beach to see if we could make something of whatever was left of sunset. Since Folly Park closed before dark, we pulled up to the last public parking area on the west end of the island, paid our fee at the self-pay booth (does anyone really pay at these things?), and began walking the beach. Soon, it was apparent that the skies were going to put on a bit of a show and some reds and oranges began to appear on the western horizon. I had originally thought that I would concentrate on some of the jetties and tidal pools utilizing the blue hour of evening, but I couldn’t help but answer the tug of color in the skies. Ensuring that my mother was okay doing her thing on the beach, I began running towards the tree and tidal pool at the west side of Folly Beach County Park. What seemed so close turned into a real challenge with a forty-plus pound pack and tripod on my back! I had to stop a few times to catch my ragged breath, only to quickly resume my labored sprint towards the colored skies and my hopeful subject. By the time I had reached the tree much of the color had faded from the skies (wish I could say this was the exception and not the norm!). To complicate matters more, I needed to get into the thigh-deep tidal pool in order to close the gap between the tree and I because my wide angle lens wouldn't capture the scene properly from the dry shore. Each step further into the water created ripples and destroyed the reflection, requiring me to actually stand bone still and wait patiently after reaching a close enough vantage. Compositions were obviously limited with this scenario as the tripod legs (and mine) moving around were not optimal for a clean reflection during a time-restricted event like a sky that was quickly burning out. Thus, the result—this particular photograph, one of only four frames I eventually snapped—is actually the product of a salvage mission that started at the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge an hour or so beforehand! Part of me wishes that I had been at Folly Beach County Park earlier in the evening and taken full advantage of the opportunity, but another part of me, perhaps a wilder part, really enjoyed the hunt and the excitement of the process and thus, makes me more appreciative that I got what I did out of the whole ordeal!
More often than not, for me as the photographer, it’s the “stuff” that lies behind a photograph that brings meaning and separating that out to objectively decide whether or not any particular photograph will have impact with an uninvolved viewer is not always as cut and dry as I imagine it will be. Perhaps that's the driving force behind the "stories behind the scenes" that I like to provide with my photographs--a means, however imperfect, for interested viewers to dive even deeper into the frame, into the adventure, into the very places that I have a passion for.

Free admission for Wildlife Trust members. A small admission fee is payable by non-members. There are several waymarked trails on the reserve (Red trail 5km/3 miles, blue trail 3km/2 miles) No dogs are allowed on the reserve (except assistance dogs). The reserve has toilets and a number of birdwatching hides.
Directions
By car From Barrow in Furness follow signs for Walney Island. Cross Jubilee Bridge onto the Island and follow brown signs left at traffic lights, follow this road for about 1km/0.6 miles then turn left down Carr Lane. Pass Biggar Village and follow the road to the South End Caravan Site. Follow the road for a further kilometre until the reserve is reached.
By bicycle The reserve is 5km/ 3 miles from National Route 72 Walney to Wear.
By public transport Buses run from Barrow in Furness to Biggar.

Overview
South Walney forms the southern tip of a shingle island lying at the end of the Furness Peninsula. During the medieval period it was farmed by the monks of Furness Abbey, whilst during the 19th and 20th centuries salt, sand and gravel were extracted leaving large lagoons and some industrial remains.
What to see
Every spring, large numbers of lesser black backed and herring gulls still return and begin to set up nest territories. Other breeding birds include eider duck, greater black backed gull, shelduck, oystercatcher, mallard, moorhen and coot. Of the 250 bird species recorded, most are passage migrants on their way to or from breeding grounds. These include common species such as wheatear, redstart, willow warbler and gold crest, as well as more unusual species, which may have been blown off their normal migration route. In winter, large numbers of waders and wildfowl feed and roost around the nature reserve both on the gravel pools and the intertidal areas. Vegetated shingle being a highly unusual habitat, and yellow horned poppy, sea campion and biting stonecrop grow on the single beaches.
Small areas of dune grassland survive with pyramidal orchid, Portland spurge, restharrow and wild pansy. The old gravel workings have developed their own communities with striking plants such as viper's bugloss, henbane and alkanet. Saltmarsh occurs in Lighthouse Bay with species such as thrift, glasswort and sea purslane.

Free admission for Wildlife Trust members. A small admission fee is payable by non-members. There are several waymarked trails on the reserve (Red trail 5km/3 miles, blue trail 3km/2 miles) No dogs are allowed on the reserve (except assistance dogs). The reserve has toilets and a number of birdwatching hides.
Directions
By car From Barrow in Furness follow signs for Walney Island. Cross Jubilee Bridge onto the Island and follow brown signs left at traffic lights, follow this road for about 1km/0.6 miles then turn left down Carr Lane. Pass Biggar Village and follow the road to the South End Caravan Site. Follow the road for a further kilometre until the reserve is reached.
By bicycle The reserve is 5km/ 3 miles from National Route 72 Walney to Wear.
By public transport Buses run from Barrow in Furness to Biggar.

Overview
South Walney forms the southern tip of a shingle island lying at the end of the Furness Peninsula. During the medieval period it was farmed by the monks of Furness Abbey, whilst during the 19th and 20th centuries salt, sand and gravel were extracted leaving large lagoons and some industrial remains.
What to see
Every spring, large numbers of lesser black backed and herring gulls still return and begin to set up nest territories. Other breeding birds include eider duck, greater black backed gull, shelduck, oystercatcher, mallard, moorhen and coot. Of the 250 bird species recorded, most are passage migrants on their way to or from breeding grounds. These include common species such as wheatear, redstart, willow warbler and gold crest, as well as more unusual species, which may have been blown off their normal migration route. In winter, large numbers of waders and wildfowl feed and roost around the nature reserve both on the gravel pools and the intertidal areas. Vegetated shingle being a highly unusual habitat, and yellow horned poppy, sea campion and biting stonecrop grow on the single beaches.
Small areas of dune grassland survive with pyramidal orchid, Portland spurge, restharrow and wild pansy. The old gravel workings have developed their own communities with striking plants such as viper's bugloss, henbane and alkanet. Saltmarsh occurs in Lighthouse Bay with species such as thrift, glasswort and sea purslane.

En el Conjunto Arqueológico de Chinchero llama la atención inicialmente sus andenes, lo que permite entender que fue un centro de producción agrícola en la época inca, también se construyo un almacén y se doto a todo el complejo de un sistema de regadío muy eficiente. La historia cuenta que con la llegada de los españoles, Chinchero fue incendiada en 1536 por Manco Inca, en su huida hacia Vilcabamba, con el objetivo de no dejarles nada a los españoles.
Sobre el Palacio de Tupac Yupanqui los españoles levantaron la Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de Monserrat en 1607, con la finalidad de representar su sometimiento de forma simbólica. Su Altar mayor tallado en pan de oro y estilo barroco está dedicado a la Virgen de la Natividad. Sus paredes están decoradas con obras de Diego Quispe Tito el máximo representante de la escuela cusqueña. También hay trabajos de Francisco Chihuantito.
En Chinchero el pasado persiste obstinadamente, como si el espíritu de una cultura milenaria se aferrara en este lugar, negándose a desaparecer. Los pobladores nativos, ataviados con coloridos trajes típicos, bajan de sus comunidades los domingos y se aglomeran en la plaza principal para intercambiar sus productos. Ver a todo este grupo de gente de raíces culturales profundas, ajenos a todo signo de modernidad, resulta todo un espectáculo.
En la concurrida y colorida feria dominical de chinchero se puede encontrar objetos de uso domestico, algunos verdaderamente antiguos como los famosos textiles de chinchero. En este pueblo, con comunidades unidas se ha podido conservar un patrimonio vivo, inmaterial, de extraordinario valor, que se expresa tanto en la textilería como en las prácticas agrícolas y en una red de relaciones familiares y comunitarias. En los talleres de las asociaciones de artesanas se exponen diariamente todo el proceso del tejido, desde el lavado de la lana, hasta el producto final, se aprende de las técnicas de hilado, teñido y tejido.
Desde Chinchero se puede acceder a la bella Laguna de Huaypo y al pueblo de Piuray. Chinchero es reconocido también por ser un pueblo de talentosos artesanos textiles.

Auf dem Marktplatz findet am Freitag jeweils der Wochenmarkt stattfindet. Das imposante Rathaus wird aktuell renoviert. An vielen Orten lässt sich in Strassenrestaurants einen badischen Weisswein geniessen und dem regen Treiben zuschauen. Tübingen wird - im Gegensatz zum grösseren und bekannteren Heidelberg - weniger von Touristen aus aller Welt überflutet. Deshalb ist das Leben hier noch ursprünglicher und die Uhren gehen etwas langsamer was Tübingen sehr sympathisch macht.

In the morning shortly after 7 o'clock I always go to bed to Daddy. He then turns around and puts his feet under his pillow. That way we can cuddle especially nicely. I lie down in his arm or against his chest and head and he strokes me with his other hand.
The other day, I lost track of time a bit and didn't get to our room until 7:35. Daddy was already sitting on the edge of the bed and wanted to get up. But then I opened my eyes wide and looked horrified! He immediately realized that getting up without cuddling first is not possible and laid down again - upside down, his feet under his pillow, as it should be. Then we snuggled together and dozed a bit until the emergency alarm beeped at 7:50 am. That's the way to do it!
In the morning, I sometimes accompany Daddy to the bathroom. You can lie comfortably on Grandma's shower chair or rub heads with Daddy when he's sitting on the toilet. But when he turns on the shower, I prefer to move to the toilet seat. It's nicely padded, too. I'm not at all afraid of water, but I would like to decide for myself when I take a shower!
Somehow daddy is a little piglet - a short shower once in the morning is not enough for the whole day. He should take an example from me, I lick myself thoroughly a few times a day. And then every few weeks a full bath, you are always a clean and well-groomed cat and do not need so stuff from the spray can under the armpits!
During the day there is usually also entertainment. In the house and in the neighbourhood live nice people who are always happy to see me and greet me and also stroke me sometimes. Especially nice plays our janitor Martina, my friend, with me.
Unfortunately, Daddy is in the garden far too seldom. I love helping him with the gardening or taking photos. What he means by "I'll break my bones because I' m falling over you", I don't understand.
When there's nothing else going on, I cross the bridge to the other side of the stream and look for Sammy. He's always good for a bit of a scuffle. I really beat him up when he dares to cross to my side of the stream! Then, in the heat of the moment, we sometimes end up in the stream or a sandy waterhole on the construction site.
A tomcat has to do what a tomcat has to do! It's nice that Daddy understands that and dries me off without scolding me.
So, that was part 1 of my memoirs. You can't start writing down your experiences early enough. Some footballers do the same ;-)

Venice (Italian: Venezia [veˈnɛttsja] ( listen), Venetian: Venesia) is a city in northern Italy known both for tourism and for industry, and is the capital of the region Veneto, with a population of about 272,000 (census estimate 1 January 2004). Together with Padua, the city is included in the Padua-Venice Metropolitan Area (population 1,600,000).
The name is derived from the ancient tribe of Veneti that inhabited the region in Roman times.[1][2] The city historically was the capital of an independent city-state. Venice has been known as the "La Dominante", "Serenissima", "Queen of the Adriatic", "City of Water", "City of Masks", "City of Bridges", "The Floating City", and "City of Canals". Luigi Barzini, writing in The New York Times, described it as "undoubtedly the most beautiful city built by man".[3] Venice has also been described by the Times Online as being one of Europe's most romantic cities.[4]
The city stretches across 117 small islands in the marshy Venetian Lagoon along the Adriatic Sea in northeast Italy. The saltwater lagoon stretches along the shoreline between the mouths of the Po (south) and the Piave (north) Rivers. The population estimate of 272,000 inhabitants includes the population of the whole Comune of Venezia; around 60,000[5] in the historic city of Venice (Centro storico); 176,000 in Terraferma (the Mainland), mostly in the large frazioni of Mestre and Marghera; and 31,000 live on other islands in the lagoon.
The Republic of Venice was a major maritime power during the Middle Ages and Renaissance, and a staging area for the Crusades and the Battle of Lepanto, as well as a very important center of commerce (especially silk, grain and spice trade) and art in the 13th century up to the end of the 17th century. This made Venice a wealthy city throughout most of its history.[6] It is also known for its several important artistic movements, especially the Renaissance period. Venice has played an important role in the history of symphonic and operatic music, and it is the birthplace of Antonio Vivaldi.

Gostei demais dessa mani. Culpa das amigas Iva, Kelly e Dany, que ficaram conversando sobre esse tipo de combinação, conhecida como mix n' match. No post eu falo um monte sobre essa mani, nem vou me repetir aqui - reservo esse espaço pra contar a triste história duma menina que teve uma banda de punkrock por 3 ou 4 anos, mas por conta de circunstâncias complicadoras, acabou parando de tocar. A moçoila não pegava num baixo há uns quatro anos, e resolveu achar que tava tudo bem tocar a tarde inteira de um belo sábado ensolarado, numa chácara, longe de vizinhos reclamões.
Não estava.
Meu indicador da mão esquerda tem duas bolhas, uma já estourada, e os outros dedos dessa mão estão inchados. Digitar tá bem difícil, e acho que vou levar bom um tempo até esses dedos conseguirem segurar um algodão com acetona novamente... E torçam pra que eu crie calos novamente, por favor ;/
