After Carrer de la Princesa, we would head up Via Laietana towards Barcelona Cathedral. Before we got there, we stopped somewhere for a drink. Later on we would walk back down this road, trying to get to the History of Barcelona Museum, but ended up walking down to Port Vell instead!
Plaça De Ramon Berenguer El Gran is nearby as is Plaça del Rei (which is close to the entrance of the museum we later tried to get to).

The British Embassy in Bahrain hosted a children’s Mad Hatter’s Tea Party on Monday 4 June to celebrate Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second’s Diamond Jubilee.
More than 100 children, teachers and volunteers enjoyed a lively afternoon in the gardens of the Ambassador’s Residence. The children played lots of different games, had their faces painted and enjoyed a special Jubilee tea. There was also a Mad-Hat competition in which five winners received prizes from the Ambassador.
Ambassador Lindsay commented: “It was wonderful to be able to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in this way. Street parties are very much part of the British tradition of celebrating Royal occasions. I hope the children will remember this special day for a long time. Her Majesty enjoys great respect and affection all across around the world, and the ties between the Bahraini and British Royal families remain as close as ever.”

It is a Spanish derivation of Italian renaissance detailing - other examples can be found across Spain. The hostal was established for poor and sick pilgrims. Now, as a Parador, it is no longer charitable, but you can stay there if you want to be close to the busking pipers and noise of tourists and pilgrims. (The cheapest rooms are 225 euros with obligatory breakfast for 20 euros each.) If you are not deserving poor when you arrive, then you will be before you leave.
