December 27, 2018 - I have never been a fan of the OAT Home Hosted Lunches as I have said before in my photo feed, however we had a very enjoyable lunch with this Christian family in Madaba. The lunch and conversation was very good. The daughter took a group selfie photo with all of us and I was the point person she was going to email it too. There was a communication breakdown and I never got the email. I was going to share the pictures I took with the family.
Our host brother graduated the other day from basic school. Being my last few weeks in this lovely country, I've been jumping at every opportunity to capture... life. Kids are typically a delightful experience because they just love the camera and seeing their picture on the LCD. So this was a pretty fun day. Also because I knew a lot of the kids.
The look on her face. The look on Junior's face. And the other kid. Too funny.

BOSTON – The Massachusetts National Guard hosted the 26th ‘Yankee’ Division in World War I: Centennial Commemoration, at the Ancient and Honorable Artillery Armory at Faneuil Hall, Oct. 20, 2017.
The commemoration was marked by a series of lectures given by military historians and explorers. The talks covered topics from the Yankee Division’s Organization and Structure during WWI, to the 26th’s storied battles, and even newly rediscovered art work that until recently was lost 30 feet below ground.
The speakers included: Brig. Gen. (MA) Leonid Kondratiuk the Director of Historical Services and Militia Affairs; Dr. Jeffrey Gusky, a National Geographic photographer, emergency physician, explorer, and television host; First Lt. Jonathan Bratten, Command Historian for the Maine National Guard; The Honorable Michael E. Shay, Superior Court Judge Trial Referee; and Col. (Ret.) Terrence J. Finnegan, military historian.
The 26th Infantry "Yankee" Division was activated in Boston 100 years ago, in 1917. The "Yankee" Division was comprised of National Guard units from the six New England states with the Massachusetts Army National Guard providing more than half of the 28,000-soldier.
The 26th was the first full U.S. Army division to arrive in France and was exposed to more combat than any other division except for one. The division incurred approximately 18,000 casualties.
