VA Hosts Veteran Small Business Conference in New Orleans
Supports Veteran-Owned Businesses and Helps Them Compete for Federal Contracts
The Department of Veterans Affairs will host the upcoming National Veterans Small Business Conference and Expo, Aug.15-18 in New Orleans. It will be the largest nationwide conference of its kind focused on helping Veteran-owned businesses succeed in winning federal contracts. “Veteran-owned businesses provide world class services and expand employment opportunities for some of our Nation’s most highly-trained and motivated men and women,” said Secretary of Veterans Affairs Eric K. Shinseki. “That is why VA is proud to host this annual conference to help better prepare these veteran-owned businesses to compete and win contracts with the federal government.” The conference, scheduled for the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, will provide Veteran-Owned and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned small businesses of all sizes with an opportunity to learn, network, and market their businesses. The conference will offer a variety of new training sessions on navigating the federal acquisition process, including finance, compliance, business development, marketing, strategy, contract management, human resources, technology, and program management. The conference track sessions will be targeted for a variety of businesses from new business owners just back from theater to well-established Veteran-owned businesses looking to expand opportunities or increase market share. The National Veteran Small Business Conference is open to both government and non-government personnel. An Evening Back Stage with Greenpeace was hosted by the Major Gifts team at the Oakland, California warehouse on April 27, 2017. The evening was a rare glimpse of what happens behind the scenes of the environmental organization including a firsthand experience of some of the equipment that makes the work possible.
Hosted in various locations throughout Mercer County, the 2021 Summer Sports Finals was the culminating event for our summer season featuring athletes competing in seven sports.

On July 25th, the British Chamber of Commerce in Korea (BCCK) hosted its first member-free networking night at its new office for over 150 attendees. The office, officially opened by Secretary of State, Liam Fox MP on June 10th, was opened up for the general membership. Member-free ticketing was warmly received and is part of the BCCK’s member-first approach to running its networking events.
In the BCCK’s new open-plan office, British Meantime and Brewdog beers were served from ‘Lizzie’s Lounge Bar’, named after her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, together with light food in ‘Winnie’s War Room’, named after Sir Winston Churchill, in what was an open and approachable atmosphere.
Congratulations to attendees that won raffle prizes from Fortnum & Mason, LUSH and The Body Shop. On this occasion however, everyone received something as each attendee was given a gift bag from TipTree Jam.

The morning of Monday, October 27, actor Jason Alexander hosted a Vote Early for Change event at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton.
Early voting in Florida began Monday, October 20 and Jason Alexander is encouraging voters to cast their ballot early in Palm Beach county and throughout South Florida. Early voting is available until Sunday, November 2, the polls will all be closed on November 3 and then of course November 4 is the Official Election Day and the last opportunity you will have to express your self and help to select Barack Obama as the next President of the United States.
Since you are looking at these photos, I assume you are voting for Obama, so it is very important to remember that if you really want Barack Obama and Joe Biden to be able to effect the change we all want, then you also need to vote for Democrats down the entire ticket...
