CEA Project Logistics played host to the KONECRANES Generation C launch at their Free Trade Zone Warehouse in Laem Chabang Thailand.

The event, organised by the KC Lift Trucks division of KONECRANES drew a multinational crowd from all over Asia with more than 100 guests in attendance eager to see the next generation in lift trucks. Before the grand unveiling Patrik Lundback Regional Sales & Service Director opened proceedings by welcoming all guests and thanking them for their interest in Generation C, further adding “The Generation C lift truck is a collection of refinements and bold new technologies that improve our lift trucks in ways that make them safer, cleaner, quicker and more cost effective. We are very happy to be the first region outside of Europe and North America to launch the Generation C.”

The C series lift truck includes a completely new driver’s cabin with first-in-class features to enhance safety, comfort and productivity. The C series also boasts increased reach stacker lifting performance, an enhanced TRUCONNECT® remote monitoring system and improved engine performance. The C series is equipped with common platform diesel engines that meet emission legislation levels EU Stage II / EPA Tier 2, EU Stage IIIA / EPA Tier 3, or EU Stage IV / EPA Tier 4f. These new engines are in general several decibels more silent and can save up to 6% in fuel consumption over previous ones.

After the formalities a sumptuous buffet lunch was provided for all allowing some time for networking and the forging of new friendships. After lunch a presentation was given about Generation C to showcase the state of the art systems developed by KONECRANES which are featured in their new line of vehicles. As the unveiling grew near a traditional Thai war dance began increasing in tempo until the curtain was dropped and the guests got their first glimpse of a Generation C Reach Stacker, the unveiling was accompanied by a fantastic light and smoke show. As the smoke cleared the guests got up close and personal by being allowed on to the vehicle and into the futuristic cabin.

The new driver’s cabin offers operators class-leading spaciousness and superior visibility made possible by an even more ergonomic layout with integrated seat-mounted controls. The industry’s first 7” touch screen color display provides full truck monitoring including eco-drive, fuel management and driver login. The touch screen monitor also supports an optional integrated rear-view camera and tire pressure monitoring.

The CEA Facility was chosen as a venue due to their state of the art Air Conditioning systems installed at their Free Zone Warehouse in Laem Chabang, although temperature outside was a sweltering 36 degrees centigrade all the guests inside were enjoying a lot cooler weather!

December 27, 2018 - I have never been a fan of the OAT Home Hosted Lunches as I have said before in my photo feed, however we had a very enjoyable lunch with this Christian family in Madaba. The lunch and conversation was very good. The daughter took a group selfie photo with all of us and I was the point person she was going to email it too. There was a communication breakdown and I never got the email. I was going to share the pictures I took with the family.

Established in Notting Hill in 1990, Beach Blanket Babylon describes itself as a "club for the discerning without requiring a membership”. In 2007, they opened the Shoreditch branch, which I’d been going past for years (if you’re heading down bethnal Green Road from Shoreditch High Street station you can’t miss it) without really knowing what it was or what it was doing there. Look for stone (not sure if actually stone) eagles on the outside.

Anyway, they invited us along to the launch of ‘Host Your Own Roast’. Which is 50% party, 50% roast dinner. Combining Sunday Roasts and a party (on Sunday, obviously) is a pretty...astute idea that I can't say I've seen in all that many places. Also when it's a party at someone else's place (i.e BBB's place) you don't need to do the washing up. Unless you want to.

Other things of note where bottomless bloody marys (which I don’t really understand in this context but am not going to complain about), the chefs coming out to carve food as part of the demonstration (and as you can see, it was a LOT of food), a lemon meringue pie of legendary quality, and me dressed as a chef (no pictures of this survive)

The shots you see were taken inside the bar/restaurant area - which looks cool as fuck. BBB seem to focus on Modern European/British cuisine and a reasonable selection of wines and cocktails. It definitely reminds me of a wine bar/lounge. On that note, downstairs is a lounge that seats about 300 I believe (it was closed when I visited). I should quite like to return :D

The morning of Monday, October 27, actor Jason Alexander hosted a Vote Early for Change event at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton.

Early voting in Florida began Monday, October 20 and Jason Alexander is encouraging voters to cast their ballot early in Palm Beach county and throughout South Florida. Early voting is available until Sunday, November 2, the polls will all be closed on November 3 and then of course November 4 is the Official Election Day and the last opportunity you will have to express your self and help to select Barack Obama as the next President of the United States.

Since you are looking at these photos, I assume you are voting for Obama, so it is very important to remember that if you really want Barack Obama and Joe Biden to be able to effect the change we all want, then you also need to vote for Democrats down the entire ticket...

On other South Florida stops, Alexander was joined by Congressman Robert Wexler, Congressman Ron Klein, Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, State Senator Ted Deutch, State Senator Jeremy Ring, and others.

Zagreb is thoroughly modern and beautiful, with a livelier local crowd, fresh markets, and more hidden gems than Prague or Budapest. The Plitvice Lakes are one of the most awesome national parks we have visited so far. And Dubrovnik is like stepping back into the 1400s, all rocky hillside, stone streets, towering city walls, and Mediterranean blue sea. We would love to come back here.

I'm incredibly grateful for all the people who hosted me during my travels!

"Karlovy Vary (German: Karlsbad) is a regional and statutory city in the Karlovy Vary district in western Bohemia, in the Karlovy Vary region, 110 km west of Prague at the confluence of the Ohře and Teplá rivers. Approximately 49 thousand inhabitants live here. Among other things, the glass and food industries are developed here. It is the most visited Czech spa town. As of 2021, it is on the UNESCO World Heritage List under the Famous Spa Cities of Europe. The city is a member of the Euregio Egrensis Regional Association of Municipalities and Cities and the Water Management Association of Municipalities of Western Bohemia.

The place where the center of Karlovy Vary was established remained for a long time outside the interest of the population. Steep slopes and unsuitable climatic conditions near the thermal springs did not provide suitable conditions for growing crops, which were crucial for settlement. The first settlements were more likely to be located in today's peripheral parts of the city.

The exact date of the city's founding is unknown. The permanent settlement around Vřídl was established in the middle of the 14th century. In 1370, it was granted to the city by Charles IV. privileges of the royal city. The legend of the founding of Karlovy Vary, recorded in 1571 by Dr. Fabian Summer, says that a hunting dog began to maul a piece of wild game during an expedition in the woods, falling into a pool of gushing hot water. The moaning of the dog summoned the other members of the expedition, who subsequently tasted the hot water. Charles IV was also informed about the find, who went to the place of the spring. Together with the doctors present, he stated that this hot water has healing effects, which he subsequently tried himself and experienced improvement. He then founded a spa called Teplé lázně u Lokte on the site of the alleged spring.

At first, the town had only a few inhabitants, whose most important role was to take care of the springs. Karlovy Vary initially developed at a slow pace. The Hussite wars did not affect the city in any way, because it was not understood as strategically important. The city slowly began to grow rich from the gradually developing spa industry. But the growth was hampered by several misfortunes that hit the city. A flood swept through the town in 1582 and a devastating fire in 1604, which destroyed 99 houses out of 102. The subsequent rapid growth was interrupted by the Thirty Years' War, which reduced the number of inhabitants and also the number of spa guests. The end of the 17th century starts a new growth in the city. Important European personalities begin to visit Karlovy Vary. The city began to expand with new buildings (e.g. the theater or the Saxon and Bohemian Hall, which became the basis for the Grandhotel Pupp etc.). In 1759, the city was again destroyed by flames. However, thanks to its fame, the city recovered relatively quickly from the fire. The Napoleonic wars rather benefited the city in a way. Thanks to their sufficient distance from the battlefields, they attracted visitors to the famous spa towns of Western Europe. Viennese architects Ferdinand Fellner and Hermann Helmer, who designed 20 important buildings in the city, are largely responsible for the architectural transformation towards Art Nouveau at the end of the 19th century. In the years 1870–1871, the city was connected to Cheb and Prague by means of a railway, which was later followed by regional connections.

The development of the city was disrupted by the First World War, after which it was not possible to continue such extensive growth. The city became the center of important events with the rise of Nazism. Local bookseller KH Frank became the leader of the Karlovy Vary Sudeten German Party, later the second most powerful man in the party. On April 24, 1938, Konrad Henlein presented the so-called eight Karlovy Vary demands, heralding the breakup of Czechoslovakia, in the city. In October of the same year, Karlovy Vary became part of the Third Reich. At the end of World War II, the city (especially the local part of Rybáre) was affected by bombing. The end of the war was also accompanied by the forced displacement of the original German population. During the era of socialism, several important buildings were built in the city center, such as the Vřídelní colonnade, the Thermal hotel, etc. The period after 1989 is characterized by the entry of Russian capital, which also affects the appearance of the city (e.g. by disrupting the historical character of the city with building plans). According to research by Russian activist Mikhail Maglov, who looked at property conditions through an analysis of the local real estate cadastre, "up to half" of local real estate is owned by citizens of the Russian Federation and other countries of the former Soviet Union.

Bohemia (Latin Bohemia, German Böhmen, Polish Czechy) is a region in the west of the Czech Republic. Previously, as a kingdom, they were the center of the Czech Crown. The root of the word Czech probably corresponds to the meaning of man. The Latin equivalent of Bohemia, originally Boiohaemum (literally "land of Battles"), which over time also influenced the names in other languages, is derived from the Celtic tribe of the Boios, who lived in this area from the 4th to the 1st century BC Bohemia on it borders Germany in the west, Austria in the south, Moravia in the east and Poland in the north. Geographically, they are bounded from the north, west and south by a chain of mountains, the highest of which are the Krkonoše Mountains, in which the highest mountain of Bohemia, Sněžka, is also located. The most important rivers are the Elbe and the Vltava, with the fertile Polabean Plain extending around the Elbe. The capital and largest city of Bohemia is Prague, other important cities include, for example, Pilsen, Karlovy Vary, Kladno, Ústí nad Labem, Liberec, Hradec Králové, Pardubice and České Budějovice, Jihlava also lies partly on the historical territory of Bohemia." - info from Wikipedia.
