The APG North (Aberdeen) youth center hosted a “foam party” for children who attended the summer camp program on July 10, 2018. During the party, the children were instructed to travel through an obstacle course with bubbles, water guns, water balloons, a shallow pool and foam at the finish line. Wild and Crazy Entertainment, LLC, from Eldersburg, Maryland, provided the foam machine.

Champion Hill, home of Dulwich Hamlet. The hosts (pink & navy strip) are in possession during an Isthmian League Premier Division game with Metropolitan Police. A crowd of 1,459 watched the third and sixth placed teams draw 0-0. The ground, capacity 3,500, dates from 1993 and was built partly on the footprint of the original Champion Hill, one of amateur football's biggest stadia. The property developers who own Dulwich Hamlet are keen to build houses on this site and move the club to Broomfields, land a few hundred yards to the south-west. Dulwich attracted between 200 and 300 spectators relatively recently but attempts to reach out into all sections of the community have paid off. This LGBT-targeted fixture, for example, offered free entry to promotional flyer-holders.

College of DuPage recently hosted the ninth annual Illinois Fire Service "Home Day" in the Homeland Security Education Center on the College's main campus, 425 Fawell Blvd., in Glen Ellyn. This event was sponsored by the Metropolitan Fire Chief's Association of Illinois through partnerships with the Fire Apparatus Manufacturers' Association (FAMA) and the Fire and Emergency Manufacturers and Services Association (FEMSA).
A host club is similar to a hostess club, except that female customers pay for male company. Host clubs are typically found in more populated areas of Japan, and are famed for being numerous in Tokyo districts such as Kabukichō, and Osaka's Umeda and Namba. Customers are typically wives of rich men or women working as hostesses in hostess clubs.
The first host club was opened in Tokyo in 1966. In 1996, the number of Tokyo host clubs was estimated to be 200, and a night of non-sexual entertainment could cost $500 to $600. The Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum hosted small boat enthusiasts and unique watercraft at the Mid-Atlantic Small Craft Festival XXXIII and 11th Maritime Model Expo on Saturday, October 1, and Sunday, October 2, 2016.
Hundreds of amateur and professional boatbuilders, model boatbuilders, and enthusiasts came from all over the region to display their one-of-a-kind kayaks, canoes, and other traditional small craft, along with a variety of maritime models also on display and underway in a large above-ground pond.
Sailing skiffs, rowing shells, kayaks, canoes, paddle boats, prams, and one-of-a-kind boats were on display and in the water throughout this family-oriented event. To learn more, visit cbmm.org.

The British Embassy in Bahrain hosted a Pink Garden Party to raise awareness of Cancer and funds for the Think Pink Bahrain Breast Cancer Society and the Bahrain Cancer Society, on 30 October. More than 500 guests attended the event which took place in the garden of the Ambassador’s Residence. Over BD 15,000 was raised on the night.

Elizabeth, N.J., October 20, 2017 – Elizabeth Public Schools hosted a two-session New York Jets PLAY 60 program kickoff event for nearly 4,000 students at the Dunn Sports Center on Wednesday, October 18.
Play 60 is an initiative of the National Football League that encourages kids to be active for 60 minutes a day in order to help reverse the trend of childhood obesity. The kickoff event, equipped by Modell’s Sporting Goods, featured Taneka Bowles, wife of Jets head coach Todd Bowles, former Jets safety Eric Coleman, Jets Flight Crew cheerleaders, and a special video from the Jets coach.
Elizabeth Board of Education President Stanley Neron, Board Vice President Maria Carvalho, and Board members Charlene Bathelus and Paul Perreira joined central administration and teachers in support of the encouragement of students to participate in physical activity by the Jets organization.
Elizabeth Public Schools’ fourth and fifth grade students were treated to a fun presentation introducing them to the PLAY 60 program where they received a Jets backpack along with a game planner to track their fitness. Each participating student is challenged to complete 60 minutes of activity every day over a four-week period.
A video featuring Coach Bowles was played to encourage students to take part in the program and strive to be their best. Top performing students from each grade will be entered into a drawing for tickets provided by Todd and Taneka Bowles to attend a Jets game this season.
During the Play60 activities, a check for $25,000 from Todd and Taneka Bowles was presented to Elizabeth Public Schools to support the district’s Special Olympics Play Unified program. The Special Olympics New Jersey Play Unified program offers a broad spectrum of inclusive sports and physical activity options to ensure that students of all abilities can experience the benefits of physical fitness and recreational and competitive athletics.
Elizabeth Board of Education President Stanley Neron takes pride in the success of Coach Bowles and his willingness to contribute to his hometown community.
“Coach Bowles is a shining example of the message I always share with all the students of our schools, that they are capable of defying the odds and achieving greatness,” said Neron.
“We are grateful that Coach Bowles and his wife Taneka continue to give back to the Elizabeth community that helped mold him into the successful person he is today and for their efforts in establishing such a great partnership with the New York Jets organization for a very important cause.”
The PLAY 60 program reinforces ways in which Elizabeth Public Schools works to create a safe and caring environment.
“Elizabeth Public Schools always seeks opportunities to promote social, intellectual, and physical wellness to our students,” said Elizabeth Public Schools Superintendent Olga Hugelmeyer.
“We are happy to welcome back the New York Jets PLAY 60 program as a vehicle to encourage our young students to stay active.”
So while the chefs outside our host family's house are busy preparing food for the following day's feast, back inside the kitchen, the son of our host prepares dinner for the immediate family, and us. I loved the simple, rustic kitchen with a wood stove, though there is a gas stove also on hand elsewhere in the room. Here this genteman is smiling at us from his work station with a pot of beef simmering over the fire. Above his head, that is, above the stove is a rack or sorts where pieces of meat are strung for smoking, for future use. Also placed on the rack above the stove are wire baskets with ears of corn, also for smoking. The smoked meats and corn will be used later in cooking, and are particularly useful during the winter months when the harsh winter and snow outside would make going to market an impossible proposition.
