The Trust Board hosted the second of three annual 'thank you' tea parties for staff across its hospital sites today, at St Albans City Hospital.
This was an opportunity for the Board to be able to thank staff personally for their hard work over the past year. Afternoon tea was provided with a string duo playing live music.

Every year, Lymington Yacht Haven and the town High Street hosts a fleet of stunning Ferraris, a beautiful Italian market, live music and much more! The free event is the perfect family fun day and took place on Sunday 2nd July 2017 with an estimated fleet of over 40 Ferrari cars in attendance. The last one I attended was the 1st July 2018 one. It was very hot and sunny and this time I went to the Yacht Haven to get some better pictures and Videos. There are too many in the High street of Lymington on this special free day event. Lymington Italia Festival is organised by the Lymington & Pennington Town Council and supported by Lymington Yacht Haven, the UK Ferrari Owners Club and other Lymington Businesses. Lymington is a port on the west bank of the Lymington River on the Solent, in the New Forest district of Hampshire, England. It is to the east of the South East Dorset conurbation, and faces Yarmouth on the Isle of Wight which is connected to it by a car ferry, operated by Wightlink. The town of Lymington lies within Southampton and S.W. Hampshire and contains the villages of Beaulieu, Boldre, Hordle, Milford-on-Sea, Pennington and Sway. Under the Local Government Act 1972 the borough of Lymington was abolished on April 1, 1974, becoming an unparished area in the district of New Forest, with Charter Trustees. The area was subsequently parished as the four parishes of New Milton, Lymington and Pennington, Milford-on-Sea and Hordle. Lymington New Forest Hospital opened in 2007, replacing the earlier Lymington Hospital. This is a community hospital and has a Minor Injuries Unit but no Accident and Emergency.
The town has a large tourist industry, and is situated near the beautiful New Forest. It is a major yachting centre with three marina’s. A beautiful, Georgian market town, Lymington ( population 14,330 ) is situated on the southern edge of the New Forest, between Southampton and Bournemouth and at the western end of the Solent. The town is world renown as a sailing resort; there are two large marinas Berthon and Haven and two sailing clubs RLYC and Lymington Town. Lymington has several interesting independent shops including some designer boutiques. On Saturday a market is held in the High Street, the origins of which probably date back to the 13th century. At the top of the High Street is the Parish Church, St Thomas Church ( built around 1250 ), from the bottom of the High Street a cobblestone road leads down to the Old Town Quay, still used as a base by commercial fishing boats.
The earliest settlement in the Lymington area was around the Iron Age hill fort known today as Buckland Rings. The hill and ditches of this fort still remain, and an archaeological excavation of part of the Walls was carried out there in 1935. It has been dated to around the sixth century BC. There is also another supposed Iron Age site at nearby Ampress Hole. Evidence for later settlement (as opposed to occupation) however is sparse before Domesday. Lymington itself began as a Anglo-Saxon village. The Jutes arrived in what is now South West Hampshire from the Isle of Wight in the 6th century and founded a settlement called limentun. The Old English word tun means a farm or hamlet while limen is derived from the Ancient British word lemanos meaning elm-tree. The town is recorded in the Domesday book of 1086 as Lentune. About 1200 the lord of the manor, William de Redvers created the borough of New Lymington around the present quay and High Street while Old Lymington comprised the rest of the parish. He gave the town its first charter and the right to hold a market. The town became a Parliamentary Borough in 1585 returning two MP's until 1832 when its electoral base was expanded. Lymington continued to return two MP's until the Second Reform Act of 1867 when its representation was reduced to one. On the passage of the Redistribution of Seats Act 1885 Lymington's parliamentary representation was merged with the New Forest Division.
From the Middle Ages to the nineteenth century Lymington was famous for making salt. Salt works comprised almost a continuous belt along the coast toward Hurst Spit. From the early nineteenth century it had a thriving shipbuilding industry, particularly associated with Thomas Inman the builder of the schooner Alarm, which famously raced the American yacht America in 1851. Much of the town centre is Victorian and Georgian, with narrow cobbled streets, giving an air of quaintness. The wealth of the town at the time is represented in its architecture. Lymington particularly promotes stories about its smuggling history; there are unproven stories that under the High Street are smugglers tunnels that run from the old inns to the town quay. Lymington was one of the boroughs reformed by the Municipal Corporations Act 1835. In addition to the original town, 1932 saw a major expansion of the borough, to add Milton ( previously an urban district ) and the parishes of Milford on Sea and Pennington, and parts of other parishes, from Lymington Rural District - this extended the borough west along the coast to the border with Christchurch.

1st MSC hosts mobilization readiness exercise
Camp Santiago, Salinas: Soldiers of the 1st Mission Support Command's Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment hosted a mobilization readiness exercise at Camp Santiago, P.R., 14-27 March.
During the event, HHD Soldiers completed readiness checks for over 1,000 Soldiers. Events such as this are commonly held annually to ensure that commanders can maintain their unit readiness.
"We try to do this as the units get closer to their available year in order to have them improve their overall readiness and mobilization posture in the event they get selected (for mobilization) down the road", said Gerardo Rodriguez, mobilization officer for the 1st MSC.
Rodriguez said MRXs help units maintain readiness for deployments but they also serve the individual Soldier.
"As part of the MRX ... there are different stations and one of them, one of the most important, is medical. A Soldier is completely checked and whatever cannot be fixed at this location ... the Soldier can go to a private (medical) provider and get that situation fixed and that helps them with their overall readiness",he said.
Soldiers rotate through eleven different stations in total where they are checked in by HHD Soldiers and efficiently move through the station. While the process has been refined over the years at times people still tend to get impatient.
Staff Sgt. Anaselly Ramos, logistics noncommissioned officer with the mobilization team, know the experience can be stressful but to help keep the level of frustration down she leads groups of Soldiers through stations when she sees openings. While each group of Soldiers is instructed to follow the schedule given to them for the MRX, Ramos' method keeps things moving along too.
Keeping track of the entire flow of Soldier traffic is a system called the mobilization plan data viewer.
"It shows all the stations and actually it runs the SRP (MRX) completely", said Spc. Hector Rodriguez, from Bayamon.
"It's tracking each Soldier by station ... you can see how many have completed (the stations) and how many have not",added Rodriguez, who is assigned to the 311th Quartermaster Company.
While the process can be tedious for the Soldiers going from station to station, one Soldier working at the medical readiness station found the MRX to be an opportunity to challenge herself by practicing her public speaking skills.
Spc. Jenniffer Gonzalez Diaz, a traffic management coordinator, who's primary language is Spanish, began giving the medical station briefings to many groups of Soldiers. Gonzalez admits that speaking English is not one of her strengths but her determination brought her recognition among her peers and even the Commanding General of the 1st MSC Brig. Gen. Fernando Fernandez.
"They gave me the opportunity to participate in this activity so I can ... help them in the system with the Soldiers, and I practiced a lot my English",said Gonzalez.
As a member of the the 390th Seaport Company, in Ceiba, Gonzalez recognizes the importance of refining her English language skills. When given the opportunity to refine her abilities when she signed up for the Army, Gonzalez participated in English language courses.
"I improved my English, I practiced my English when I took the class but I knew a little bit of the language because we are Puerto Rico and we are bilingual so we took classes when we started in (grade) school", said Gonzalez.
Gonzalez knows this isn't the only challenge she'll have to overcome in her military career, which is why she stays motivated and maintains a positive attitude.
"The important thing for me is to show people that you are trying, don't get upset, don't get mad if someone corrects you because they are helping you",she said. "If you don't know, ask, so you can learn ... the stuff you learn nobody can take away."

This hidden pool hosted so many good ode species this year and it's now almost dry. So I got brave yesterday and walked out to it. I was looking for a female spreadwing - can you inagine finding a brown damselfly in this mess? I didn't even see the big green darner at first - finally spotted her and got some shots.
I believe that the spreadwings that I'm finding at this spot are Sweetflag - if you have experience with that species please let me know!

This is a photograph from the 3rd Annual Meath Spring Half Marathon and 10KM Road Races hosted by Bohermeen AC on the 2nd March 2014 at 12:00 at Bohermeen, Ardbraccan, Navan, Co. Meath, Ireland. This year's event included a 10KM race which replaced the 5KM event held on the previous years. This event has grown quickly in popularity over the past few years with this year's entry of 700 beating the previous race numbers of 680. This half marathon event is perfectly placed in the Irish running calendar as it provides runners of all levels and abilities an opportunity to test the half marathon distance in preparation for a Spring Marathon or as the first serious running goal of the New Year. Bohermeen AC is steeped in Irish athletics history since 1927 and it is this experience and exceptional community spirit and volunteering which has made this event today so successful. The very heavy rain that fell on the 10KM race and the begining of the Half Marathon did nothing to dampen the spirits of the participants. In fact, despite a head wind at certain parts of the course, this was a perfect day for road racing.

The Satellite Navigation Coordinates to Bohermeen are [53.650882,-6.77989] and is accessible using the M3, N2 and N52
The routing for the 2014 event has changed slightly from previous year. In 2014 the race starts about 100m away from the Bohermeen Club Race HQ [See Google StreetView in the direction of the imagery goo.gl/maps/rtj1X] and the race proceeds down the road towards Navan. Just before the 1st mile the race takes a right turn [see Google Streetview goo.gl/maps/iGrR0] which brings runners on the route of the famous Patrick Bell 5KM Road Race route held at Bohermeen every summer. Then the route turns slightly eastwards and this brings the race along a beautiful stretch of rural countryside road. This connects runners with the main loop [see Google StreetView goo.gl/maps/gLI1l] where the race follows the N51 towards Navan. The race must now complete this loop (which passes through the start area and past the finish) and then a full loop again before finishing in the Athletics track. The only hills to speak of in this course are on the the stretch where the race route crosses the M3 motorway (see Google Streetview - as of March 2014 their imagery is a little out of date for the M3 goo.gl/maps/tcdJX). The only major climb on the course must be tackled twice as the road rises up over the M3 Motorway. This comes at about the 5M and 11.5 Mile mark in the race.

I ran in the race - but my photograph doesn't appear here in your Flickr set! What gives?
As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!
You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. Hosted by all four branches of Kettering Student Government, Senate, Operations, Finance, and Academic, this event was designed to shine a light on the KSG Hotline, where students can anonymously share feedback, questions, or suggestions about campus life.
To make the hotline more visible (and a lot more fun), KSG members put themselves on the line, literally, by getting dunked in a tank as part of the event. Students stopped by The Pool to submit their feedback, watch their peers drop KSG leaders into the water.
The result? A relaxed, engaging environment where students could laugh, connect, and have their voices heard. By the end of the day, 55 submissions were added to the hotline, making this both a fun and impactful way to strengthen the student experience.

Abu Awad is the director of 'Al-Tariq', a Palestinian center for non-violence. This center also hosts the Palestinian side of the Israeli-Palestinian Bereaved Families Forum.
This is a photograph from the 8th annual running of the Meath Spring Half Marathon which was promoted and hosted by Bohermeen Athletic Club at Bohermeen, Navan, Co. Meath, Ireland on Sunday 10th of March 2019 at 11:00. The half marathon consists of a 11KM and 10KM repeated loop around the roads of Bohermeen and Oristown. The finish line is on the running track within Bohermeen Community Center. The course is a fast fair course with a few small hills. In 2016 the original course was 'reversed' which just meant that the traditional course changed to accomodate the large number of participants and the narrow country roads on which both the race participants and race traffic must both share before, during and after the race. Most runners agreed that this made the course much faster as a result. The major change for 2019 seen the half marathon become the only race of the day. Previously, there was a 10KM race option also presented. This year the race promoters offered 999 places and the race sold out many weeks in advance. The race also includes the 46th Rennicks Cup (Men's overall team) and the 43rd Father Delany Cup (Women's overall team).
The weather will be remembered for a long time after this year. Just about 15 minutes before the start there was a very heavy hailstorm which seemed to make the winds even stronger. Suddenly the skies cleared and the sun appeared. However, a very strong westerly wind contined and this was in the face of runners on the open stretches on the Navan Athboy road and on the additional section on Loop 1.
Bohermeen AC is steeped in Irish athletics history since 1927 and it is this experience and exceptional community spirit and volunteering which has made this event today so successful. Having now organised the event for six years running it is certain that the event will continue to grow and expand become one of the mainstays on the Irish athletic club road racing calendar for many years to come.
This race takes place about one month after the Trim AC 10 Mile Road Race in Trim (just down the road from Bohermeen). Indeed these races truly kick-start the whole road racing season of fixtures amongst the clubs in Meath who are now famous for the quality and standard of the road races staged and organised.
The race is supported by substantial local sponsorship from businesses in the local area. McNally Logistics and Transportation are the main sponsors of this year's event. The company specialises in national and international haulage.
