Miroslaw Magola of Germany is known as the "Magnetic Man" He achieved minor celebrity status as Magnetic Man and was featured on television in many countries. In 2010 he was shown on "Stan Lee's Superhumans - Mind Force" television documentary, aired on the History and Discovery Channel, on the Germany Prosieben Galileo "Magnet Mann" and Sat.1 Clever and on the France TF1 "La Soirée de L'étrange". ANNAPOLIS, Md. (April 24, 2022) The U.S. Naval Academy hosted the 52nd annual Maryland Special Olympics track and field competition at Ingram Field. More than 150 midshipmen serving in the Midshipman Action Group were paired with Special Olympics Athletes to encourage them throughout the event. Seven counties throughout the state of Maryland gathered for the competition, making this event the largest qualifier in the state. Drygt tre veckor till valet i Danmarks fem regioner och 98 kommuner. På lördagen blev det tillåtet att hänga upp valplakat upp runt om i kommunerna och valkampen inför den 21 november börjar för alvar.. . .Fakta om region- och kommunvalet i Danmark. .Till skillnad från Folketingsvalet som blir utlyst av statsministern, finns det en bestämd valdag för valet till Danmarks fem regioner och 98 kommuner. Det är den tredje tisdagen i november vart fjärde år. Politikerna tillträder 1 januari året därefter och sitter i fyra år. I år hålls valet den 21 november. ..Kommunernas högsta beslutande organ kallas Byråd eller Kommunalbestyrelse och består av minst 9 och högst 31 folkvalda politiker. Det politiska arbetet organiseras genom olika utskott som har var sin ordförande. Borgmästaren är ordförande för finansutskottet och översta administrativa ledare för hela administrationen samt även den enda heltidspolitikern..I Köpenhamn kallas Byrådet för Borgerrepresentationen och i denna sitter 55 medlemmar. Särskilt för Köpenhamn är också att det politiska arbetet organiseras i ett så kallat ”mellemformstyre”, med delad administrativ ledning. Här benämns ordföranden för utskotten som borgmästare medan den högsta politikern, ordförande för Borgerrepresentationen och Finansutskottet, kallas överborgmästare. Alla borgmästare är heltidspolitiker..Regionernas högsta beslutande organ kallas Regionsrådet och det har 41 folkvalda medlemmar. Det politiska arbetet organiseras i ett ”forretningsudvalg” och flera utskott eller forum, exempelvis Vårdutskottet eller Utskottet för Näringslivsutveckling. Den högsta politiska posten är ordförande för Regionsrådet och hen är den enda heltidspolitikern.

In the 1970s a bus driver then nearing retirement told me that this range of buildings had been stables for the tramway company's horses. I am not sure whether he would have remembered this himself (when were horse buses phased out?) or if he was recounting something he knew by heresay. During the 1960s houses in Christmas Street had been demolished, leaving Host Street open at the bottom. This had been done to expose the old buildings at the foot of Christmas Steps, hitherto hidden down a narrow alley. The lamp-post is an electrical adaptation of a former gas light. These hybrids were once common in the city's lesser thoroughfares. Taken Thursday 28th June 1973.

This is a photograph from the Leinster Cross Country Championships which was held at Moyvalley Hotel and Golf Estate at Balyna Estate, Moyvalley, Co. Kildare, Ireland on Sunday 25th October 2015 begining at 11:00 until the final race at 14:20. The programme for today included Boys and Girls even ages, Junior male and female, Novice male and female and Masters male and female. The races were run on a superb course beside the Moyvalley hotel where the vast acres of prime farmland provided a large space to have a fair but challenging course on good firm ground.
The Leinster event was hosted by local club Na Fianna from Co. Meath. However the venue was actually just inside Co. Kildare in a part of the county where Meath and Kildare borders intersect several times along the route of the old N4/N6 road. The luxury Moyvalley Hotel & Golf resort is set amidst 550 acres of historic Kildare countryside and is easily accessed from the M6/M4 at Enfield or Kinnegad.

Balyna Estate where the races were held can trace its history back to the 1500s. More recently the estate was owned by the Bewley Family of the Bewley Cafe fame. The hotel and resort were taken over by new management in 2014 who are implementing big plans to expand Moyvalley further.

I ran in the race - but my photograph doesn't appear here in your Flickr set! What gives?
As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!
You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. As alternatives we advise you to contact the race organisers to enquire if there were (1) other photographs taking photographs at the race event or if (2) there were professional commercial sports photographers taking photographs which might have some photographs of you available for purchase.
