Candid street photography from Glasgow, Scotland. An interesting young woman with her dreadlocks and many, many scarves - they were much needed in the chill air. Given a light 'orange and teal' split tone processing in post, for a soft cinematic feel. Wishing all of my Flickr friends a fantastic weekend, enjoy!

Since we have not had any significant accumulation so far this year (my lawn has yet to be completely covered), I thought I'd head to Whiteman's Creek. Not quite a winter wonderland but it's all we got...and hey, the sun was shining too!!
A hornet queen (or more correctly, gyne) hibernating in a hole in a fallen branch.

ABOUT THIS PHOTO. I'm partly hibernating from my shooting regimen lately as I'm still undergoing chiropractic treatment with my aching back. And so far my body is responding nicely. Here's one of the fireworks display I shot just last week.

Just a little note so that you guys know:
I'll soon be rebranding all of my photography pages to my married name - Rebecca Bentliff - so don't be alarmed if you can't find me, I'll still be here under a different name!
A series of four photos. A composition of a photovoltaic panel and a young oak tree. The same tree, the same panel, just different seasons. Here you can see the winter season, the hibernation period.
"Hibernation"
Ever have those days where you just need to hideaway with no distractions and get everything on your list done? That's the kind of day I'm having. So much so that I almost forgot to work on my image for today, but I knew I wanted it to capture the feeling of hiding away from the cold weather, while also focusing on the work that I need to get done!
Cheers to Mondays, hope you get everything you need to get done, done!

Cars, trucks, motorcycles, even bicycles move relatively fast with respect to the ground compared to walking. More things are noticed at a slower pace, it seems. For instance, the pile of what appears to be rocks in this photo seems to be stationary. However, if you observe for a week or two, you will notice that the "rocks" occasionally move an inch or two, up, down and sideways. It all depends on when Steve the Stegosaurus yawns. He's been in hibernation for a long time, but, appears to be slowly waking.
