First shieldbug of the year in our garden! A Common Green Shieldbug in winter livery!
The Common Green Shieldbug (Palomena prasina) is a large shieldbug with a dark wing membrane and reddish antenna. Adults are bright green in the spring and summer, but finely punctured with dark marks. They become a darker bronze-brown prior to winter hibernation. This shieldbug is common and widespread throughout Britain and Ireland in numerous habitats, as far north as southern Scotland.

Straight from the camera. 56 minutes of mad light painting excercise for this one, needed couple glasses of water after this! :) Done with a light tool engineered by Ville Olaskari.

Candid street photography from Glasgow, Scotland. An interesting young woman with her dreadlocks and many, many scarves - they were much needed in the chill air. Given a light 'orange and teal' split tone processing in post, for a soft cinematic feel. Wishing all of my Flickr friends a fantastic weekend, enjoy!

Since we have not had any significant accumulation so far this year (my lawn has yet to be completely covered), I thought I'd head to Whiteman's Creek. Not quite a winter wonderland but it's all we got...and hey, the sun was shining too!!
Winter is a time of rest, of going within, to renew when the warmth of spring arrives. By summer, this barren tree will be filled with leaves softly rustling in the gentle warm breezes.

ABOUT THIS PHOTO. I'm partly hibernating from my shooting regimen lately as I'm still undergoing chiropractic treatment with my aching back. And so far my body is responding nicely. Here's one of the fireworks display I shot just last week.

Just a little note so that you guys know:
I'll soon be rebranding all of my photography pages to my married name - Rebecca Bentliff - so don't be alarmed if you can't find me, I'll still be here under a different name!

Ever have those days where you just need to hideaway with no distractions and get everything on your list done? That's the kind of day I'm having. So much so that I almost forgot to work on my image for today, but I knew I wanted it to capture the feeling of hiding away from the cold weather, while also focusing on the work that I need to get done!
Cheers to Mondays, hope you get everything you need to get done, done!
