Out for a hike today at Stiglmeier Park on a beautiful spring day we came across a group of about 6 garter snakes.
HFF all!
Took this a couple of weeks ago. There were little clusters of miserable (dead?) ladybirds on every post of this fence.
You all know best - hibernating it is!
Explored, thank you. 31.25% (!) of my explored shots are fence friday ones - proving that the wonderful Fence Friday community are taking over the world!
(309/365) I found a cluster of 7 tiny snails hibernating under a stone in the garden today & took a couple of photos on my camera. I carefully put the stone back the way I'd found it & went to upload the photos. The light quality wasn't great so I thought I'd try again using my iPhone. Sadly I hadn't put the stone back as carefully as I thought because when I turned it over again 2 of the snails were crushed :(
Sorry little snails I didn't mean it. The moral of this tale is let sleeping snails lie.
When Bella disappears on a cold day, she is usually found in her warm, furry bed. (Winter cats, 3 February)
Happy Caturday.
Finally I could have the time to finish a part of my little winter sim today.

this is the season of hibernation. under snow and darkness, nature rests. yet we humans create more busyness, more bustle. i try to remember from where i came. and that i, too, need some hibernation.
I'm honored to announce that I've won The EPSON International Pano Awards 2016 Photographer of the Year, with both the overall 1st and 2nd place images! This was the 1st place image, and my 2015 image "Funnel Factory" was 2nd. Thank you to the judges for appreciating these images as much as I enjoyed making them.
There are some truly stellar images in the top 50 that would be just as deserving of the win in my opinion, including (but not limited to) those from some of my favorite photographers: Hans Strand, Marsel van Oosten, and Hougaard Malan. See more here: thepanoawards.com/2016-winners-gallery
On a side note, I apologize for the lack of new posts lately. I’m planning on releasing new work in November, and the first official video of my processing series in December (finally)!
After a successful season of Christmas Trains, Cape Cod Central returned their equipment from Rochester to Hyannis with MC 2011 leading. This would be the first time that an FL9 led a train on the entire length of the Cape since arrival in October. 2011 arrives in the Hyannis yard with MC GP9u 2007 in the background. The FL9s likely won't make another appearance until spring rolls around.
