ALE Trojan 8870 truck registration BX65OAW seen at Stella South Substation after a cancelled transformer move from Stella to Wallsend on Friday 11th August. Move was resceduled to take place overnight from 15th to 16th August.
c/n 047. At the Paris Air Show at Le Bourget. New to Air France as F-BVGJ in 1977. Sold as N740SC in 1996 and converted to a freighter. To Heavylift Cargo Airlines as G-HLAA in 1997. Leased to Transaer as EI-TLN in 1997 and returned as G-HLAA in 1998. Stored in 2002, back to N740SC in 2003 and to MNG as TC-MNU in 2004. Withdrawn from use in 2011.
ALE was tasked with completing the skidding, ballasting, barge management and load-out of a 4,500te CPOC jacket in Malaysia.
ALE undertook a full turnkey project to transport, barge and install evaporators weighing 2000te from Hamriayah to Fujairah in the UAE.

Bit disappointed really - the newbuild for the Gosport Ferry company ("Harbour Spirit") was completed at a Croatian shipyard a couple of months ago, and I was hoping it would be sitting on the deck of this thing - as it is, it appears to be carrying a load of scaffolding. Oh well - a waste of a couple of hours, but it got me out of the house for a bit and gave me a break from the monitor.
