Jeremy replaced the hard drive in his MacBook Pro. It is akin to performing minor surgery, but all went well & he's loving the extra space!
Travla C158 / Via Epia MII-10000 again.
Left the PCI Radeon 9250 (Neded a DVI-Out ...), left top the drive-frame with Harddisk.
Pochi elementi hi-tech bastano. Anzi sono troppi.

Fun and games with PCs old and new as I plug the SATA drive from the new system into a USB adapter in the old one so I can migrate the LVM volumes from the 200G IDE drive to 1T SATA.

I can't make up my mind which desktop setup I want so I guess I will just have to keep changing it until I find the right one.

Lucky for me I didn’t lose any data.
My pretty new Starck hard disk arrived today. I don't usually get excited about geekware but [sniff] it's just so beautiful [wipes tear].

One benefit of my LaCie Time Machine drive failing was that the replacement MyBook one didn't have a custom icon, so I finally got to see Leopard's Time Machine drive icon. I quickly ditched the other LaCie's custom icon and mounted my iDisk so I could have a cute matching set.
(Updated because I remembered one more kind of drive to mount: a Back to My Mac one from my other MacBook Pro.)
This is the platter from a hard disk.
This is not a normal platter. A normal disk platter would be bright and shiny and have mirror finish. This disk is slightly scarred. Apparently the owner let is run a scandisk over night.
I am told they could not recover any data.

I bought this "cheap" enclosure at Frys... this really is a very lovely piece of kit, great quality. Note the tab at the bottom of the box to pull the inside out. Solid cardboard too.
