The pink kimono looks really cute on Enmusubi.
You can see the back of the obi we made for Studio Bitamin as well; we had forgotten to photo it the other day.
Over the last couple weeks I've been working on a few projects.
One thing I got a chance to partake in was making hats for cancer patients. I ended up making 8 hats. I've decided my goal for next year is to make 20 hats.
completed projects:
granny square blanket
purple snuggle blanket
8 hats
1 infinity scarf.
I have more projects to work on this month and I am sooo glad the weather is finally cooling down, it makes it easier to work with yarn.
Started August 2019 (likely finish date...end of summer??)
lim MSD hikizuri (can fit multiple because made a little big...)
I think I'll finish it for Thistle when her new body gets here. If not, for my YouplaDolls.
I sew by hand.
I made this lovely doll kimono from vintage kimono fabric. Lovely patterns and pastel colors.
Modeled on hybrid doll, body is Dream Valley. Head is Iplehouse Sleeping Amy.
Yup this hood is all mine!! So cozy furry and soft! Perfect for my puddle town weather! It's upcycled wool, so it's sustainable. I feel good about wearing trashionable attire!
We bought some vintage kimono fabric that was too old to dye in the traditional, painstaking methods, so we got it at vintage prices...and decided to dye it in a beautiful mint with rainbow accents!
The motif on this vintage wedding kimono is beautiful; cranes with sakura and gold waves on the bottom.
The white plum blossom kanzashi goes very well because cranes are winter motifs, and plum blossoms are late winter /early spring motifs.
Interestingly, Ruan (Souldoll Kid, old body) can fit Thisle's leggings. ^^! Yay for versatility?
Ruan looks nice with red hair too...hmmm, I like changing their hair so much.
A little treat I´ve crafted to my friend Nath Yamauti , based on her flickr picture: www.flickr.com/photos/ny2/3672590543/
purple version of my fairy necklace... all artwork is handdrawn by me & then cast in resin with glitter!
These lovelies are the second group of three I've taken in kimono....furisode to be exact, since they have long sleeves.
Juniper, Robin, and Briar.
Juniper in purple, Robin in ecru, and Briar in burnt orange-red.
Butterfly and nanohana for march kanzashi. The pink kanzashi is an original design.
Nanohana takes inspiration from maiko kanzashi calendar.
Harri is pleased to have a friend...and a new kimono.
Handmade kimono and obi...oh, and the kanzashi accessories. The shoes I bought.
Here is the nagajyuban, worn under the kimono. It's sized to fit inside the sleeves and close to the body.
My daughter and I have been reading a wonderful story called Berry Magic written by Teri Sloat and Betty Huffmon. In this delightful tale a little girl makes magic dolls which create the berries well loved in Alaska. She adorns the dolls with pelatuuks (pronounced BLAH-dooks), little cloths wrapped around their heads. The berries they make are the color of their pelatuuks.
This hood reminds me of the rosy pelatuuk on the doll that brings the raspberries. Except it’s a bit more versatile, since it as both a Hat and Scarf! If you get too warm, it flips down like a Hood.
You can even tie the scarflette behind your dance the festival away without worrying about your hat! You could even tie the tails to make a Satchel, for carrying home your treasures!

Texture: Super soft, medium length hair, fuzzy, light summer weight
Material: Wool Selvage
This eco-friendly hood is handmade with 100% Upcycled Wool. It’s our own unique original design. Good to the environment, good to your head, and brimming with sustainable style!

I made my kanzashi for 1/6th size kanzashi dolls.
I batch-dyed the silk for this lovely color, with some natural variation. The bigger wisteria is hand-dyed with a brush, so each petal has subtle variation.
The bigger wisteria was designed with 1/4th doll size in mind.
Fairyland PukiFee and Lati White SP. They look cute together~
Holding a little handmade crane.
The crane is made of silk. ♥
The kimono is brilliant vermilion, dark green, and all hand painted by a traditional kimono artist. The mini kimono is made with rou silk.
The leaf kanzashi (hairpin) is hand dyed silk.
I made the kimono from the vintage kimono silk into doll kimono. ^o^
Showing how you wear the crown. It can be slightly more sturdy by having a katsuyama hairstyle.
The silk wisteria hairpin is handmade by me. So is the mauve kimono, both obi. But the green kimono I picked the silk and a friend made me a while ago!
I made this lovely doll kimono from vintage kimono fabric. Lovely patterns and pastel colors.
Modeled on hybrid doll, body is Dream Valley.
Willow is holding a custom 11 cm paper lantern which reads "Hyakiyako" (百鬼夜行)
This kimono is deceptively simple on the top and sleeves, but from behind you can see this kimono is exquisitely painted. We were happy to buy it and put it together to be worn for years by various 1/3 dolls...
Anyway, who do you think wore it best?
Leaves are red momiji~ lovely again.

Purettua villalankaa
kultalankaa
silkkipaperia (kenkälaatikosta)
tukikangasta
rihmaa
Itse askartelu on tehty noin 25 vuotta sitten. Samaa ideaa on käytetty varman ne pari sataa vuotta, kun Suomessa on joulukuusia nähty.
