This kimono is deceptively simple on the top and sleeves, but from behind you can see this kimono is exquisitely painted. We were happy to buy it and put it together to be worn for years by various 1/3 dolls...
Anyway, who do you think wore it best? Willow is modeling on the Myou Doll 1/3 body.
Leaves are red momiji~ lovely again.

The silk wisteria hairpin is handmade by me. So is the mauve kimono, both obi. But the green kimono I picked the silk and a friend made me a while ago!
Handmade kimono set for a custom order.
The uchikake is made from a wedding kimono, so it is gorgeously detailed with hand-painted Yuzen kimono and gold fleck.
The resin hairpins are size 7 and size 12. (Size 10 would be perfect, if it existed...)
Heena is a BJD Crobi doll, 8-9" wig.
We got a fun request for a kanzashi that'd be suitable for a kabuki yakusha, and we went with elegant pinks and whites, and bold reds, a winter design.
Handmade hairpin, handmade kimono.
They look really cute together, I think. Do you like putting different company dolls together? I do~
Closeup on the gorgeous kimono silk. It's cherry blossoms and...magnolia flowers, maybe? I've forgotten what the kimono shop said.
Fairyland PukiFee (15cm) and Lati Yellow dolls (17cm).
Rin is wearing handmade black dress by me, and red kanzashi leaf, also by me. ♥
Mio is wearing an etsy commission I got~ cute~
I decided to rethink my winter kanzashi design and have put together two separate ones-- a crane and two red star flowers for a winter motif. ♥
Handmade kimono set and kanzashi by me. ♥ I use vintage kimono repurposed for doll art.
Yuzen kimono, fully lined. Also false sleeves added to the side of the sleeves for a pretty rainbow effect.
I made a tiny silk kimono and hair flower. I also made the silk wig.

Originally made in 2022, altered to better fit Popovy Sisters body II this year (2024).
Handmade kimono by me~ also made the lovely silk plum blossoms for their hair.
The pink kimono is silk. The light blue one is actually a synthetic blend, made for washable kimono wearing.

The lovely teddy is from Daria's THD (The Hautned Dollhouse).
We sewed the kimono from vintage kimono. :)
Briar is wearing a red kimono over a white inner-kimono, worn loosely with a manaita obi. The manaita obi is specific to Oiran, who would wear such gorgeous obi with gold embroidery thread flowing over the very-detailed obi, which is longer, broader, and padded more than the usual obi. The decorative gold threads represent the Floating World, a pretty way to refer to the red light district.
I was playing with the shibori hair ties, and made the semi-traditional hair updo (simplified, and not all the way up~ ♥ but still cute)
I made some 1/4 size silk kimono! These leave kanzashi that I've been working on for a few months go really well.
I want to try to finish before the season is long over next time, haha!
This one is a shorter sleeved kimono, which is super nice for balance, and also a more homongi feel rather than furisode, which is a level down in the formal/special occasion register.
This is the more loose fit

So, Japanese tengu are mythological creatures who typically are said to be...well, long red nosed, and have wings...but I ran out of time to make wings. Maybe next year!
The Hermit: 隠者
This is a fantasy style kimono based off of manga and short-novels illustration~ it's not quite kariginu and not quite everyday casual clothes in the heian period either-- 直衣? Kind of? Simplified for easy wear and also because I made this in a week, and it was a lot of work for a week's work. 🎃
Handmade yuzen kimono over-robe (called uchikake), and roh under-kimono made especially to be knee length.

BJD photos of works-in-progress. :)
Airi has a new body!! I traded her Dreaming Doll single jointed body (and some clothes...) for Doll Chateau body, so she can sit seiza.
The purple kimono is an inner-kimono, a nagajyuban, so it's very soft. This is the first kimono I made to fit doll chateau-- small torsos and loooong legs. :) ♥
The obi is made of vintage kimono too... I was playing with sizes. How do you like this design?
