The Hermit: 隠者
This is a fantasy style kimono based off of manga and short-novels illustration~ it's not quite kariginu and not quite everyday casual clothes in the heian period either-- 直衣? Kind of? Simplified for easy wear and also because I made this in a week, and it was a lot of work for a week's work. 🎃
I made Aspen a dress! it's interesting trying out new designs...
The kanzashi is also handmade by me. It's a flower made of habutae (also called habotai), a kind of silk used to line kimono. It's a lovely Japanese technique.
Thoughts?

Wren wears an obitsu 童直衣 (the round collar everyday clothes worn by nobles in the Heian period), but we're still working out how to wear it properly on a centaur body... currently no hakama. 😂
童直衣を着用~だが、水干のほうです~袴は無理かな、四足だと...さてと、どう結ぼうかな?単はどうしようかな?考え中です。
Working on making the inner kimono bit, and thinking about hakama...

Heena is a BJD Crobi doll, 8-9" wig.
We got a fun request for a kanzashi that'd be suitable for a kabuki yakusha, and we went with elegant pinks and whites, and bold reds, a winter design.
Handmade hairpin, handmade kimono.
A peacock theme!
I was creating some kanzashi birds (peacocks, of course), and I decided some of the petals would look more beautiful in a more abstract peacock design...so here we are! How do you like it?
There are little plum blossoms in the tree...is it a sign of spring?
Handmade kimono accessories by me.
Thistle (a Doll Chateau Kid, tall MSD, 50cm) is standing in for 57.5cm LilyCat ...
(Her lovely face is a bit small, of course, since she wears 6-7" wig, and 7-8" wig)
Wearing a lovely momiji kanzashi (maple leaf hair pin)
This green obi is so striking with this kimono, I think...

Percy, looking uncharacteristically calm and collected, like some kind of plotting Heian princess...
My 38 cm (1/4th doll) models my hand sewn Shibori and orange kimono set.

Little Tomu is looking for a ghost for little ghost they carry. The thing is, without others to play with, that one will get rather 'playful' and wreck Havoc on all Tomu's plans... they're looking for a friend for self-preservation.
Sporting part of their Full-set outfit (the cloak) and odds-and-ends I've collected. ^^
I made the little leaf in Tomu's hair.
Handmade Beaded Bracelet Available at my Facebook Store Message me to place a custom order! This bracelet is 8 inches but I can make one to fit any size you need. The beads are glass 4mm round and 4mm bicones. I used 11/0 seed beads and finished it off with a gold plated magnetic clasp.
Did you know I adore plum blossoms? :) Well, I do. So I decided to make a maiko henshin set... or a "mini maiko" addition that can be worn by someone even without nihongami. (Tho it's easiest to wear with nihongami, I think...)
I hand dyed the silk, cut out hundreds of petals, and folded, folded, folded. Now I'm done! :) I just need to take another photo of the sagari (falls) ... it's hard to do outside of your studio.
Wearing handmade cotton yukata / (an informal kimono) and silk hairpins, because...because.
All handmade by me.
Dolls are PukiFee's.
I made their kimono of silk kimono fabrics...I love to repurpose old kimono to new art forms, especially if they're not wearable as ordinary kimono any more.
The kimono sets are all made by me. I also made the hair flowers.
Fit to join the Empress Oni's court! And ready to move quickly while she's at it.
The sunglow gold....is such a pretty color. Sets off the dark purple really nicely.

Two examples of dressing dolls in kimono: left, simply, with just tying it shut, right, with a hashori, or a tuck, and tyed in two places to help the kimono stay closed around the knees.
