I just adore pomegranates. Bitter-sweet and maybe a touch sour? And such a pretty shape...
The leaf crown is oak leaves and hand-dyed silk.
The kimono is brilliant vermilion, dark green, and all hand painted by a traditional kimono artist.
The leaf kanzashi (hairpin) is hand dyed silk.
I made the kimono from the vintage kimono silk into doll kimono. ^o^
These are 2 more dresses I have been working on this week-just had a glitter mishap in the studio-I now have a sparkling purple floor;o)
Heena in red kimono with lavender accents.
I made the kimono for a custom order, technically for Feeple65, who has a bit larger chest than my Heena, but similar other proportions.
Heena is wearing it like Furisode rather than like Uchikake this time, so you can see the details of the pattern of the over-kimono (uchikake), which are quite lovely.
Looking cute in this tiny kimono. Handmade by me. The little purple flowers are called tsumami zaiku.
Made a new ume design based off of a previous plum blossom design. ♥ I like kanzashi...
Handmade kimono also by me.
A look at Willow's hair style, and details of the Hagi Kikyo kanzashi.
Hagi: bush clover
Kikyo: bell flower
Enjoyed playing with their hair. Took a while to put up.
Handmade kimono set for a custom order.
The uchikake is made from a wedding kimono, so it is gorgeously detailed with hand-painted Yuzen kimono and gold fleck.
The resin hairpins are size 7 and size 12. (Size 10 would be perfect, if it existed...)
Willow is wearing a green custom kimono.
Here you can see the pattern on the back of the sleeves a bit easier.
Kimono from the back also look so pretty.
The kimono and tsumamizaiku are made by me~
Plum blossoms look very sweet in pink too, I think.
The jade kimono is very refreshing in summer.
This is the smallest size wisteria I've made yet...
This is a tiny wisteria designed for 1/6th size fashion dolls, but I wanted to check how it'd look on 1/4th dolls too. ♥
Shibori kimono is vintage kimono fabric cut and sewn for doll measurements.
Sweet red plum blossoms are some of my favorites.
She can sit seiza very well.
This is inspired by a traditional dance.

This is the replacement for the bear I hijacked just before Christmas so I could make Rosie for my niece. Because my hands have been so bad I hadn't done any sewing for months but thanks to a bad dose of flu, I've seen very little of the outside world over the last month and because that means I haven't used my crutches much, my hands are feeling a little better so I've caught up with a little bit of sewing in the last few days. In fact I've also been struggling with my photography lately too, this is the first time in ages my hands haven't been in agony when holding my camera, I would be nice if it lasts a little while.
PS. Bo is named after a chicken, NOT an actress!
Gotta show off the pretty details, right?
This obi is a brocade gold obi with a broad sash (obiage) on top to extend the obi size; still has the same shibori obijime tho; do you like it?
Handmade kimono sets and hair ornaments.
Kamuro are the attendants to Tayu and Oiran. In modern day, they are usually girls who are curious about Tayu, interested in Kimono and Tea Ceremony, and starting to learn Japanese dance.
Rosenlied Sage is my YOSD (1/6th size) dolls wearing silk kimono, sewn by me, and decorated to be little Kamuro. I added silk hair flowers (called kanzashi) because I wanted to. ♥ (Traditionally they'd wear crowns, and modern Kamuro tend to have just bobbed hair.)
Willow is wearing a green custom kimono.
You can see some of the habutae lining here. It's a gradation style done by soaking in two baths of dye...
Wearing a Bellflower (Kikyo) kanzashi.
Two layers: plum blossom and cherry blossom (white and orange), with gradation.
Thistle (a Doll Chateau Kid, tall MSD, 50cm) is standing in for 57.5cm LilyCat ...
(Her lovely face is a bit small, of course, since she wears 6-7" wig, and 7-8" wig)
I made a tiny silk kimono and hair flower. I also made the silk wig.
Rusian Artist Dasha Nuznova art doll (Zhu is the name of the sculpt)
For each petal on the shamrock
This brings a wish your way.
Good health, good luck, and happiness
For each and every day.
Both kanzashi hair ornaments are made of kimono silk. It's thicker than the habutae I usually use, and has great texture.
Yurie is also wearing a Tayu crown, and red dangling beads called Nagasaki.
So, Japanese tengu are mythological creatures who typically are said to be...well, long red nosed, and have wings...but I ran out of time to make wings. Maybe next year!
The Hermit: 隠者
This is a fantasy style kimono based off of manga and short-novels illustration~ it's not quite kariginu and not quite everyday casual clothes in the heian period either-- 直衣? Kind of? Simplified for easy wear and also because I made this in a week, and it was a lot of work for a week's work. 🎃
Vintage kimono silk which was originally sold undyed. We dyed it in rainbow green and pink tones.
We bought some vintage kimono fabric that was too old to dye in the traditional, painstaking methods, so we got it at vintage prices...and decided to dye it in a beautiful mint with rainbow accents!

I made Aspen a dress! it's interesting trying out new designs...
The kanzashi is also handmade by me. It's a flower made of habutae (also called habotai), a kind of silk used to line kimono. It's a lovely Japanese technique.

Wren wears an obitsu 童直衣 (the round collar everyday clothes worn by nobles in the Heian period), but we're still working out how to wear it properly on a centaur body... currently no hakama. 😂
童直衣を着用~だが、水干のほうです~袴は無理かな、四足だと...さてと、どう結ぼうかな?単はどうしようかな?考え中です。
Working on making the inner kimono bit, and thinking about hakama...
