And enjoy afternoon sunshine...

What better way to start the day than with a tea party?

Macarons, cookies, grapes, cheese and bread...did anyone pour the tea yet?

I made my kanzashi for 1/6th size kanzashi dolls.

I batch-dyed the silk for this lovely color, with some natural variation.

Peakswoods have so many pretty faces, but I like their hands tooooo. aren't they lovely?

Handmade kimono by me, kanzashi and obi also.

This one has been in the works since...May or June? But we finished!!

We bought some vintage kimono fabric that was too old to dye in the traditional, painstaking methods, so we got it at vintage prices...and decided to dye it in a beautiful mint with rainbow accents!

Quetzal looking cute and romantic in red and pink.

Thistle, Yurie, and Miyabi are all lovely in kimono.

Tayu were traditionally courtesans, but modernly they are dancers, Shinto shrine attendants, and conversationalists who know a variety of very old Japanese arts.

Kamuro were traditionally the girls chosen to become Tayu (if they were good enough at the arts), and assisted their Tayu.

I took some liberties with their hair ornaments because hair ornaments are my specialty and I wanted to play.

The kimono sets are all made by me. I also made the hair flowers.

with some cute air bubbles and their shadows, which kinda reminds me of jupiter's moons (though colors don't really match)

took two nights work to make this dress but I think it was worth it I`m very pleased with the result as it very much the Mori style I have been trying to achieve

DollTober day 12: Tarot

The Hermit: 隠者

This is a fantasy style kimono based off of manga and short-novels illustration~ it's not quite kariginu and not quite everyday casual clothes in the heian period either-- 直衣? Kind of? Simplified for easy wear and also because I made this in a week, and it was a lot of work for a week's work. 🎃

KoalaKrash did the beautiful faceup on this lovely little one.

We're doing a doll vacation-- we sent off our Nina Chimera, and our friend knows we love Dust of Dolls, so she sent us her Cham Namu.

The cutest round face! The cutest little body! Just darling.

Handmade kimono set and hairpins.

Cat is pleased to have company. . . and shoes to steal.

Polie think she can take care of herself ^ ^

I made Thistle her new purple wig~ it was difficult, but kind of fun. She has a lot of volume in her hair now.

...I got tired of the wind. Thus, stand.

I made this lovely doll kimono from vintage kimono fabric. Lovely patterns and pastel colors.

Modeled on hybrid doll, body is Dream Valley.

So, you can see the round collar! It's older than modern kimono, and I ran out of time to make the inner-garment that has the same collar as modern kimono... but here it is either way!

I made their kimono of silk kimono fabrics...I love to repurpose old kimono to new art forms, especially if they're not wearable as ordinary kimono any more.

The kimono sets are all made by me. I also made the hair flowers.

振り袖姿の三人美女:それぞれの色合い、帯、飾りなどを考えるのが楽しいです。

Making a portrait~ we finally have dolls who can pose with dear Heena! Yay!

Juniper is on a MaskCat doll body, and Willow is on a Myou-Doll 1/3 size.

1/4 size doll kimono and kanzashi set. The gold obi is a heart obi, designed to fit nicely with he under layer kanzashi.

Handmade kimono sets and hair ornaments.

Kamuro are the attendants to Tayu and Oiran. In modern day, they are usually girls who are curious about Tayu, interested in Kimono and Tea Ceremony, and starting to learn Japanese dance.

Rosenlied Chocolate and Sage are my YOSD (1/6th size) dolls wearing silk kimono, sewn by me, and decorated to be little Kamuro. I added silk hair flowers (called kanzashi) because I wanted to. ♥ (Traditionally they'd wear crowns, and modern Kamuro tend to have just bobbed hair.)

these are my favorite bears! I made them several years ago. I could not make them all look at the camera at the same time!!!!

thanks so much for you visits, my flickr friends and have a good day!

Yurie is a cute model! Handmade clothes.

Flower focal glass bead necklace. The flower is a lampwork glass bead made by me.

fresh out of the kiln

I wanted to say full length, but that might be confusing since it's intentionally short. ^^

OOAK dress set.
