A Woodhouse's toad, Bufo woodhousii. This toad may be known as Anaxyrus woodhousii in the future. Currently Anaxyrus is a subgenus of Bufo that contains many North American species. However, many recognize it as its own genus (Frost et al.) and the idea is apparently becoming more widely accepted. For now the official genus for this toad is still Bufo though.
However, this reminds me of the unsuccessful revision of North American members of the frog genus Rana, and their proposed genus Lithobates (which was shot down).
I'm back home after two amazing weeks in Costa Rica and I swear I have the same expression right now as this monkey! After the amazing weather, wildlife and experiences I've had...I'm not thrilled to be home. I may just hibernate until the end of the winter ;-)

I was delighted to meet Brian the keeper of the books a few months ago, and he was kind enough to do a mini photoshoot with Snow White! Brian posed as Grumpy, and Snow was herself.
Thank you, Brian!

My wife Sammy pointed this grumpy face out to me - it's the back side of an indoor/outdoor thermometer that we have on our breakfast bar. Kinda cute, actually...
The Cat was sitting across from the harbour, enjoying last of the evening sun and he did not seem very happy with me sticking my big lens in his face. Ha ha ha , reminded me of the program “ Old Grumpy Men”
Throwin' cans at the wall, swearin' at the music on my walkman....tearin' up outlines........kickin' rollers. Grumpy old man describes me best.
