The painting exhibit at East Garden Gallery, The Fullerton Hotel during the Adventures of Grumpy Cat by Yip Yew Chong.
A stern look from a Wood Duck. I think he probably thought I was too close to his mate, there behind him.

Poem by Tom Lee
Grandad’s feeling grumpy
He’s gone and lost his bet
With Grandma ‘bout the TV show
And now he’s gonna fret
He said he knew the actress
That she was in that show
Grandma said she wasn’t
She said she that should know
He looked it up on Google
He said they must be wrong
He knew that she was in it
Grandma said “so long…”
It turns out that, it was not
The actress that he thought
He’d gone and bet a shopping trip!
His boasting came to nought
But I’m the real winner
Through Grandma’s betting fame
‘Cos now my poor old Grandad’s
Bought me the latest game.
(Grandma said he had to. I wonder if he’ll get me a PS5 too?)
Always something interesting to see when walking along the towpath where the boats are moored at Teddington Lock, London.
A Greater Short-horned Lizard reluctantly posing on a rock. These lizards feed almost exclusively on ants, and based on this one's large size, the dining must be pretty good around here.

The Giant Plated Lizard is a large lizard with a flattened head and body. In adults, the back is dark brown to black. The throat is dirty white, and the belly is light brown. Juveniles are black, with a distinct series of yellow spots on the back and bars on the flanks.
A Woodhouse's toad, Bufo woodhousii. This toad may be known as Anaxyrus woodhousii in the future. Currently Anaxyrus is a subgenus of Bufo that contains many North American species. However, many recognize it as its own genus (Frost et al.) and the idea is apparently becoming more widely accepted. For now the official genus for this toad is still Bufo though.
However, this reminds me of the unsuccessful revision of North American members of the frog genus Rana, and their proposed genus Lithobates (which was shot down).
