At least he seemed grumpy at the time. When we passed the bear enclosure later in the after noon his mate was a little frisky. They put on a little show of public affection.
I was delighted to meet Brian the keeper of the books a few months ago, and he was kind enough to do a mini photoshoot with Snow White! Brian posed as Grumpy, and Snow was herself.

Rufous-tailed Tailorbird (Orthotomus sericeus) - Poring Nature Reserve, Malaysia
A grumpy looking tailorbird that wasn't thrilled with the night time attention it was receiving. This small bird is found in subtropical and tropical forests as well as mangroves and ranges from Myanmar and Thailand down to Singapore through Borneo and into the Philippines. These birds get their name from the way they build their nests, the grass nest is cradled within a large leaf whose edges are folded and sewn together with spiders silk or plant fibers.
