In the Port Credit section of Mississauga, Ontario, the harbour is protected by two crushed stone break-walls and a third that is actually a former lake freighter: the S.S. Ridgetown.
Bannack, Montana Ghost town
Founded in 1862 and named after the local Bannock natives, Bannack was the site of a major gold discovery in 1862, and served as the capital of Montana Territory briefly in 1864, until the capital was moved to Virginia City. Bannack continued as a mining town, though with a dwindling population. The last residents left in the 1970s.
At its peak, Bannack had a population of about ten thousand. Extremely remote, it was connected to the rest of the world only by the Montana Trail. There were three hotels, three bakeries, three blacksmith shops, two stables, two meat markets, a grocery store, a restaurant, a brewery, a billiard hall, and four saloons. Though all of the businesses were built of logs, some had decorative false fronts.
As seen from a ridge above Lake Superior..the day's weather was a blend of bright blue skies, fog, thunder, and rain.. sometimes simultaneously. I made this image just before a huge band of clouds burst open.

Into the darkness
Into the fear
Swept away by the past
And ghosts that re-appear
Who will you run to
When you’re feeling down
And who will you turn to
When it’s all gone
Fallen angel
Lost your wings
Can’t find your way back home
Haunted by the painful sting
Dreams of heaven
Have turned to flames of hell
Just when you least expected
Under her spell . . .

I watched her as she circled the harbor, with the intense sunset sky magnificently changing minute by minute. Each shot I took of her was quite different in color and light, constantly and methodically changing. I knew that on her last turn to Port I would have her at the perfect spot and at the perfect time. This shot was the darkest and most mysterious. Did not disappoint. Only problem: I love them all.

You can't ask for a better end of the day than a truly white Barn Owl. Terrible light so a high ISO but still, wow what a fabulous bird....truly magical. :)

There are two ghosts. They're the same man.
This scene is only a bit over a minute. He just couldn't wait and kept throwing the fishing line here and there. And eventually disappeared onto the jetty. I don't think he caught any fish.
Yes it's my lethal lady Ghost again in a more sophisticated look and environment.
I've been playing around with lighting effect and such, thus there will be alot more of Ghost in different lighting. Why? Because Ghost is officially my favorite sim and because I need to practice with photoshop.
BTW Ghost will be having her own series...soon I hope. Whenever my BF decides to send back and his video card so it can be replaced. But he rather wait till his WoW expires before he does anything....grrrrr, stupid WoW AND stupid BF.
FYI: Yes that is a sci-fi city in the window frame. I like it because it reminds me of "Blade Runner" which is sorta the same world that Ghost resides. That kinda dark and grimy futuristic world. If you haven't seen Blade Runner you so should...it has Harrison Ford in it!

When the room is quiet,
The daylight almost gone,
It seems there's something I should know...
Well, I ought to leave
But the rain it never stops
And I've no particular place to go
Just when I think I'm winning
When I've broken every door
The ghosts of my life
Blow wilder than before
Just when I thought I could not be stopped
When my chance came to be king
The ghosts of my life
Blew wilder than the wind
Well, I'm feeling nervous,
Now I find myself alone,
The simple life's no longer there
Once I was so sure
Now the doubt inside my mind
Comes and goes, but leads nowhere...

We are but ghosts in the political machine. Insignificant, barely seen, barely heard, like the figures in this picture.
Do not repeat the mistakes of our past. Civil rights applies to all, not just the ones with money and power. Keep the dream alive.
While in Australia's Red Centre in 1988, my wife and I went in search of the iconic "ghost gums" that would have originally featured in the famous artwork of Albert Namatjira. We ended up taking a shot of this magnificent tree by the edge of the highway west of Alice Springs. Amazingly, although we didn't realise it at the time, we didn't miss the original trees by very much as they were just a little further down the road and are just visible in this shot. But, this tree was such a magnificent tall ghost gum, we just had to take the shot of it.
This site is about 16 kilometres west of Alice Springs on Larapinta Drive. The surrounding countryside is just magnificent to see.
This colour slide was scanned with a Canon R10, 24-240 zoom lens with Nisi close up attachment. Cool white LED backlighting.
Original camera was a Pentax Zoom 70 using Kodachrome 100 colour slide film.

Sundays are great for nothing but me wandering through the city. :) Its like a ghost town around here! So funny and such a contrast to the serious bustle and hustle from the rest of the week.

Another ghost rider shot, but this time with a different composition and perspective.
One thing that I love about photography is that sometimes things just show up in your viewfinder that you absolutely don't expect ....

The area of Pescadero Point known as Ghost Tree derives its name from the white and gnarly local cypress trees in the area which call to mind ghosts or witches. Foresters predict that the few still living cypress trees will soon join their ghostly brethren due to a blight of beetles that will kill much of the cypress and pine in California over the next 20 years.
Legend tells of a particular spooky tree in the bunches that graces the coastline of swanky Pebble Beach. Supposedly the image of a “Lady in Lace” has often been spotted on dark foggy nights near the famed Ghost Tree, upsetting the motorists who are said to have seen her walking down the center of the 17 Mile Drive.
Ghost Ranch, Abiquiu, New Mexico, was originally the summer home of the artist Georgia O'Keefe but she eventually moved there permanently. These hills and rock formations were a continuing inspiration to her and are often represented in her paintings.

If you are familiar with the work of Ansel Adams you may recognise this photo of Georgia O'Keefe
