Bodie is a ghost town in the Bodie Hills east of the Sierra Nevada mountain range in Mono County, California. Only a small part of the town survives, preserved in a state of arrested decay. Interiors remain as they were left and stocked with goods. Designated as a National Historic Site and a State Historic Park in 1962, the remains of Bodie are being preserved in a state of arrested decay. Today this once thriving mining camp is visited by tourists, howling winds and an occasional ghost.

Spotted this bizarre 'ghost' hanging off the lamp post or something - actually I couldn't tell how it was attached. Didn't have much time to set the camera for the shot - hence the blur. GX100 in snap (hyperfocal) mode.

Inside the former Ed Goshaw residence. This is the room in which dad had seen the ghosts of his grandparents when he was a boarder there. The house has since been torn down. According to dad, he had been sitting on his bed reading, when he became aware of someone talking. He looked up to see the spectres of his deceased grandparents talking to one another. When he looked up, he said one of them said, "I think he hears us, now..." Dad said that he ran out of the room as quick as he could. The Goshaws, the owners of the house. were spiritualists. I tend to maintain a skeptical view of things, but that is the story as dad relates it. Who knows? ;-) There are other pictures of the Goshaw house in my photostream. They should be tagged "Ed Goshaw" if interested.
