It is July 24th and I've been looking forward to this moment since the blizzard back in February. I've just sung two of my favorite songs, played bass like a man, and my husband, two microphones away, is about to sing a big crowd pleaser, "The Man in the Middle." The band is hot (I'm so lucky to be playing with these guys), the summer breeze is cool, the sound crew is skilled, the folks at Morgan Arts Council are wonderful. This is a terrific day and a terrific moment to be here and now.
And then in a flash of chance and gravity, things go horribly wrong.
I look up from the stage and see my son, Jim Dill, in horrible pain, and bleeding profusely from a gash in his shin.
Getting ready for the cocktail party at the Venue at Melrose Arch We stayed at the Wanderers Protea Hotel which was very nice too.

After CC turned it off, not knowing that someone stepped out of the portal and into the Technodrome...
Used GIMP to create the portal effects and the shadows of the mysterious man...
And lastly, my Nintendo Switch screen became a guest star as the Technodrome portal! :D

Today took us to one of our craziest destinations I've ever seen. Drawbridge. This old decrepit town has been sinking into the marsh beneath it for years and was the perfect backdrop for one of our coolest scenes of the film.
Boxes 2 and 3 came yesterday in the mail and this was what was inside. Looks like I've got some reading to do quickly before more come. Luckily some not very long. I do have to write reviews for each of the them though. Blah.

My travels around the UK by car for three weeks with my son. June/July 2019 England.
Day seven. Luckily we made it time to check in before 11pm. We arrived at 10:58. Today we are taking a look around Bristol harbour area before making our way to Wales. We had a few heavy showers.
M Shed is a museum in Bristol, England, located on Prince's Wharf beside the Floating Harbour in a dockside transit shed formerly occupied by Bristol Industrial Museum. The museum's name is derived from the way that the port identified each of its sheds. M Shed is home to displays of 3,000 Bristol artefacts and stories, showing Bristol's role in the slave trade and items on transport, people, and the arts.
Normally moored in front of the museum is a collection of historic vessels, which include a 1934 fireboat (the Fire-float Pyronaut), and two tugboats (Mayflower, the world's oldest surviving steam tug, and John King, a 1935 diesel tug).
On the quayside outside the museum are four electrically powered cargo cranes built in 1951 by Stothert & Pitt. Three of these cranes are operational and operate some weekends. A short distance to the west is a much older crane, the sole surviving operational example of a Fairbairn steam crane. Built in 1878, also by Stothert & Pitt, it was in regular use until 1973 loading and unloading ships and railway wagons with loads up to 35 tons. It has been restored and is in working order, operating on some bank holidays and the Bristol Harbour Festival.
Bristol Harbour Railway offers train rides along the quayside on selected weekends, using restored steam locomotives and rolling stock.

While camped up over the weekend I have been trying to catch a few ants. The little buggers run so fast, especial when they see this large creature coming in close. After getting lots of nothing, I ended up resorting to special tactics, a drop of honey, to catch my prey. lol ;o)))

Crossings: anything crossed over something different. For example, a bridge over a river, a tree branch over a footpath, a pen across a piece of paper. Both things should be shown in the photo. - Just love the shadow crossing the leaf in this shot

I am just out of my night currency so I needed to be on the ground before that sun went down. Proper flight planning helps a lot though I will be honest...a flight like this doesn't require much to pull off.
While even Gumbo's purr seems to be getting weaker these days, his steroid injection last week has helped some. For one, Gumbo is doing a better job of keeping food down. Yay. That's always a plus. For another, Gumbo seems to have brief periods of outward strength. When we arrived home from church yesterday, a slew of cats greeted us at the door, including Gumbo, front and center. Mr. Grigsby came up from behind and tried to bully Gumbo out of the way. Gumbo held his place, turning around and clobbering Mr. Grigsby. He even tore off Mr. Grigsby's collar before Mr. Grigsby managed to retreat.
You go, Gumbo.
BTW, no claws are out, no teeth are bared, when Mr. Grigsby and Gumbo volley for position. It's merely posturing trying to claim Top Cat. I'm not worried about the safety of either feline, just their dignity.
