Daughter - "Get Lucky" (Daft Punk cover) ♪ ♫ ♩ ♬
Great chillout version^^
Like the legend of the Phoenix
All ends with beginnings
What keeps the planet spinning
The force of love beginning
Oh we come too far
To give up who we are
So let's raise the bar
And our cups to the stars
I'm up all night to the sun
He's up all night to get some
I'm up all night for good fun
He's up all night to get lucky
We're up all night to the sun
We're up all night to get some
We're up all night for good fun
We're up all night to get lucky . . .

Taken across from the Flying J truckstop in Willard Utah. The Wasatch Range is right and out of sight the Great Salt Lake and Willard Bay are about a half mile to the left. A light snow over night left everything white topped.
Like a vampire you didn't invite
Suddenly, a change stifles the air
Sucking away all your blood and energy
Whispering in your ear
"You aren't going to survive this one, dear"
Filling you with unabated darkness
Which is really strange because
Just two days ago
You were feeling so much better.

This song reminds me of autumn days, a change in the weather, hot coffee, cuddles, comfort, and warmth with those we love most. It is all the good things I wish for you (and me) this weekend.
Happy Friday all!
My sandwich mysteriously disappeared from the picnic table. I asked this guy if I could frisk him and he complied but I think that bulbous stomach and crop is where the truth lies. With that said he is an adorable thief.

Tired of staying indoors? Then why don't we get away to Yellow Water in Kakadu National Park. Located within the Alligator Rivers Region of the Northern Territory of Australia, the National Park covers an area of 19,804 km2 (7,646 sq mi), making it the size of Wales, or almost half the size of Switzerland.
Yellow Water is a landlocked billabong at the centre of the National Park and brimming with native flora and fauna and is one of Kakadu's best-known landmarks. Bring your camera, Kakadu is home to more than 280 different types of birds – around a third of all bird species in Australia, not to mention the crocodiles. You'll love Kakadu, see you tomorrow for another get away adventure.
I take a lot of photos and not all of them go up up Flickr. I try to pick what I consider "quality" photos for posting. But, because I take so many photos, sometimes a photo falls through the cracks. This one is from last year; no idea why I didn't post it.
12/25/2022: haha I actually have posted this before. I'll leave it here, I guess. Silly me.

Golden Eagle - pre jump.
I couldn't believe my luck when I came across this beauty. He was hunting from this fence post while his partner was watching him from their favorite tree upslope and in full view.
I proceeded out of my vehicle very slowly and got into position and remained very quite and calm. After a minute he targeted a ground squirrel and went to ground.
Each individual bird has it's own unique disposition, and even more so do species have their own tendencies to behave in particular ways.
You never know what impact your presence has, especially if a predator is hunting. I always try to error on the side of cautious and give them room to do their thing.
There is no such thing as a wildlife photographer who never flushes a bird, no matter how skilled or knowledgable they are. I was pleased to leave this beautiful Eagle in peace after getting a memorable sequence.
That should be the goal of every wildlife photographer.
As I drove away it remained on the ground next to a ground squirrel hole, patiently waiting for a meal.
More photos from this sequence to come.
