The Emergency Services Center is being constructed to support the new NGA facility at the site, and is being managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Baltimore District.

Geospatial-Intelligence Analysts from Stuttgart, Germany, Jason Davis and Jacquie Snyder, review a map of the coastal region of Agadir, Morocco, during African Lion 2012 taking place in four locations across the country. Both Davis and Snyder are from the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency attached to the Africa Command Headquarters. As active participants in the exercise, their three-man team created hundreds of highly detailed maps of Morocco’s varied terrain to include mountains, desert and coastline.

FORT BELVOIR NORTH AREA, Va. -- From right to left, Letitia A. Long, director of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA), U.S. Navy Vice Adm. Robert B. Murrett, outgoing director of NGA; Director of National Intelligence James R. Clapper; and Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates, observe the posting of the colors during the NGA Change of Director ceremony here Aug. 9, 2010. Long assumed leadership of the NGA, and comes to the agency from the Defense Intelligence Agency, where she served as the deputy director from May 2006 until July 2010. The ceremony was held on the site of NGA Campus East (NCE), a 2005 Base Realignment and Closure project which will consolidate various offices of NGA into a single campus here. Geospatial-tracked students at University of the Philippines and staff at Project NOAH (Nationwide Operational Assessment of Hazards) attend a geocoding training session held by AidData Summer Fellows Prabesh Basnet and Lu Sevier. The Filipino flagship university and disaster prevention and mitigation organization worked with the Fellows to learn and apply the AidData geocoding methodology, thus expanding their capacities for collecting, processing, and hopefully using spatial data for purposes such as disaster resiliency.
