NGA CAMPUS EAST - NGA CHANGE OF DIRECTOR CEREMONY

 

FORT BELVOIR NORTH AREA, Va. -- Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates speaks to guests during the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) Change of Director ceremony here Aug. 9, 2010. The ceremony was held to transfer leadership of the NGA to Letitia A. Long, who comes to NGA from the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), where she served as the DIA deputy director from May 2006 until July 2010. The ceremony was held on the site of NGA Campus East (NCE), a 2005 Base Realignment and Closure project which will consolidate various offices of NGA into a single campus here. (RELEASED) June 22, 2010 -- Contractors work on a retaining wall near the North Loop Road bridge at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency Campus East (NCE) project site at Fort Belvoir North Area, Va.

 

North Loop Road is part of NCE infrastructure which is being constructed to support the new NGA facility at the site, and the North Loop bridge is one of two being built under direction of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Baltimore District.
