yup.. its a small but very very major major major fad among young illongas today to look intellectual and at the same time a bit ubsurd..

When I went to ETech in San Diego this year I took a lot of pictures of things during breaks around the Grand Hyatt where the conference was being held.

the large box in which Amazon shipped my micro curzer card

made these for a friend for christmas :) the bat signal was particularly fiddly and injury inducing but totally worth it!

On the right, a regular double portafilter, with a spout on the bottom. On the left, a "chopped" double -- it has had the bottom cut off. This allows all the yummy crema to flow right into your cup, instead of sticking to the inside of the portfilter.

Sigrun decided this pile of random junk including vacuum tubes and arduinos and antique radio chassis would be a good place to sleep. Weird cat.

What could be better than spending a wet Saturday afternoon building one of the largest jigsaws with friends and junk food!

This photo really shows the girth of my geekum. You're looking correctly...the mount is made of old hard drives.

You can't notice, but the camera is attached to a sled, which is attached to a sled, which is attached to a horizontal rotatable stand which is made from a HD platter and motor, held by friction from screws with rubber rings holding the platter.

The camera is my wife's old Hi8 camcorder. The webcam server is back in my office. I made an adapter to transmit the feed via a centrally located ethernet cable. The length of the ethernet cable reaching from the office in the back of the house out to the front room causes a slight signal distortion. The feed is still fairly clean, so close enough for jazz.

I've got Twitter on the brain lately because I've been prepping for the LearnIT I gave today on using Twitter to develop your PLN... slides and talk will be available on treglia.wikispaces.com/twitter...

In the fall I had attended the DevLearn conference out in Vegas (great conference, great location!) and had created a handmade twitter tag for my bag. I recreated it here because I couldn't find the picture that I had taken of it and wanted to use it as an image on one of the slides in the presentation.

My VIM editor in split view next to Terminal with my custom theme.

Today a friend of my dropped by. She has a cute pullip girl, and I borrowed her pink ballet clothes for my girls x3 My geeky ballet girls :D Fientje enjoyed it, but she couldn't see a lot while she took of her glasses, so she was a bit scared to dance. Vera didn't like it at all!

My FruPu finally has a name. I am pretty sure it is going to be Lucy. What do you think?

There was a time when I wrote programs in BASIC on paper tape. I was feeling nostalgic and kludged together a font to recall those days of yore.

I decided to get a tattoo ages ago and, since my interests (read 'manias') have changed over the years I wanted a tattoo that represent a bit of everything.

I didn't get it all in there but I'm very pleased how it turned out.

This is literally from my junior year year book. East Syracuse-Minoa Central High School Volume 29 page 97. The caption reads:

Left: Working intently on a computer, Ed Knittel studies his program.

I recently rebuild my DVD drive stand, and then added this 7-port USB hub holder to clean off my desk
