our carnival theme this year is "The old west". I always try to do a lesson w/ the kids that fits the theme yet still hits the art education benchmarks and standards. There are 24 x 36 and pretty "darn cute" i'd say!! :)
Notes from video blogging session at She's Geeky. Including the site: freevlog.org where you can lots of info.
I taught them to play nethack - not the fancy-pants version with graphics and using the arrow keys and such either, but the xterm version where you're represented by an '@' and move around with hjkl.
They were very sad when I made them stop so that I could go home an hour later.
(On an unrelated note, look at that carpet! It's like going back in time, pretty sure it's been exactly the same for my whole life)
Notes from the vlogging session at She's Geeky. It lists the video hosting site and places to find pod-safe music to use.
No t-shirts for us! Ceramic coffee mugs we could leave near the coffee vendor and pick up when we needed a fix. Our names are on them.. and I love using mine.
I'd long ago decided the pixie wasn't working as Akari's daughter, Juniper. I'd stolen her wig and had her try Jurianna's old one and then more recently, Yaazi's old wig from when she was an MSD. I rather liked it on her. Granted, at the time I'd figured I'd just get her another kana long in a more normal color, but now I'm not sure. She might keep this color.
My current story for her: She's one of the grand, immortal faes. One of the rare, powerful beings from the deep fae. However, either she was banished from the fae lands because of her love of the mortal world and turning her back on the fae traditions, or some catastrophe happened to her to sever her from the fae. Either way, she's lost her immortality and her grand fae magic. She is essentially a lower fae now and still has some fae magic, but is no longer uber powerful. I'm still deciding more about her - I think she's a bit sweet and quiet and unassuming, which makes her an interesting mix with Rusalka, my half demon girl, who is also sweet and quiet and unassuming. I'm hoping they'll do well together.
Also, I don't think she needs the glasses, I think she just finds them amusing.
The dress she's wearing is one I started making for a friend's daughter's doll that was never quite completed. One of these days...
Based on the pendant Liv Tyler wears in the movies.

Wi-Fi detector T-shirt. Yes, I Am Spartacus! I mean, I Am Wi-Fi! When children approach the bright, shiny Wi-Fi network with their iPhones, like moths to the flame this All Hallow's Eve, I blue screen their precious gadgets with a TIFF buffer overflow exploit. Mwah ha ha.
