Located in Ypres Belgium, The Menin Gate is a war memorial to soldiers missing in action in World War One.
From wikipedia: Following the Menin Gate Memorial opening in 1927, the citizens of Ypres wanted to express their gratitude towards those who had given their lives for Belgium's freedom. As such, every evening at 8.00, buglers from the local fire brigade close the road which passes under the Memorial and sound the Last Post. Except for the occupation by the Germans in World War II when the daily ceremony was conducted at Brookwood Military Cemetery, in Surrey, England, this ceremony has been carried on uninterrupted since 2 July 1928. On the very evening that Polish forces liberated Ypres in the Second War, the ceremony was resumed at the Menin Gate despite the fact that heavy fighting was still taking place in other parts of the town.
The Gate of Correct Conduct is minor gate flanking the Gate of Supreme Harmony to the west.
This gate provides passage between the Golden Water River Court and south part of the Supreme Harmony Court.

Kissing gates are both open and closed. They allow humans to pass through but sheep are unable to pass through them.
Main gate of Noor Muhammad Inter College, Located 17km from Barabanki a village named Zaidpur. the gate was completed in just 45 days, hight 48 feets from plinth, width 36fts. It was build and designed by Mr, Fakhruddin Usmani when he visited Zaidpur in Nov 2007 along with his wife. He is the Nepnew of Noor Mohd. and his wife is her daughter. both lives in Pakistan permenently.

OK, I give up. Why didn't he just drill through the gate two or three inches further down, and put the hinge a bit lower to match?
Update, 29 January 2017: for some strange reason, this picture, which never evoked very much interest when first posted, has gathered around 300 views in a few days, mostly on the search term 'contraption'. What's so interesting about contraptions, suddenly?

These innovative forged stainless steel gates and transom grilles were the winning design to commemorate the Royal Wedding of 1981. Made 1981-2 they are the first of their kind in the world. They exploit both the strength of the material and the versatility of the electric arc welding process. This work is considered a watershed in 20th century forgework. In effect the design incorporates two sets of gates and grilles which link the 13th century hall with the 20th century Crown Court and Gallery.
This is a panorama I shot of Gates Pass outside of Tucson, Arizona. Contrary to many of the guide books I found this area of the Saguaro National Park more interesting to photograph than the Rincon Mountain District. Again, watch out for the cholla, half your time can be spent picking their needles out of your clothing.

Rhodes had few gates because of the town location at the northern tip of the island and because the rest of the island was scarcely populated. Three gates responded to actual needs: St Catherine's Gate gave access to Emporium, the commercial harbour of the town; St John's Gate was the terminal point of the road which linked Rhodes with Lindos and the villages on the eastern coast; d'Amboise's Gate was the access towards the western coast.
The most impressive gate of Rhodes from a military viewpoint is no doubt that built by Grand Master Emery d'Amboise: it was completed in 1512: the access was protected by two massive round towers clearly designed to withstand the Ottoman cannon. If the enemy had managed to make his way through the gate still he would not have gained access to the town; this because d'Amboise modified the design of the walls so that there were three other gates between the external gate and the town. For this reason the Ottomans called the overall system of gates Egri Kapi (Twisted Gate) (see Egri Kapi in Constantinople) [romeartlover.tripod.com]

This very ornate iron gate on Calle Cadiz in Conil de la Frontera is very pretty as well as being secure. It appears the building was 1689.

Named for the dangerous rocks and perilous waters at the confluence of the East and the Harlem Rivers, Hell Gate is surrounded by Manhattan, Queens, and three islands: Wards, Randalls, and Roosevelt (formerly called Blackwell's, then Welfare).
Standing on the east side of the Tiananmen square, looking south at the stream of people heading up the square. The building hidden in scaffolding is the Zhengyang Gate, located south of the Tiananmen Square and north of Qianmen Street.
The more distant tower is the Deshengmen Arrow Tower or Deshengmen Jianlou, one of the three well-preserved arrow towers in the inner city of Beijing, built in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It covers a ground of 4,000 sq m. An important defensive gateway of northern China.
