Taken on the Shropshire Community Flickr meet at Attingham Park In Shropshire.
This was taken on one of the walks through the grounds, the gate leads onto one of the surrounding fields but I liked the layering of colour, the grey sky, brown field and green grass in the fore. I have added a very subtle orton effect to this to add to the dreamy quality of the shot.

Jaffa Gate marks the end of a road that led to Jerusalem from the ancient port of Jaffa and the beginning of one of two major axes that divide the Old City into four quarters. The gate, actually a gatehouse built 1530-40, has been an entry point into the Old City for western pilgrims for centuries. In 1898, the gate was opened and a road paved through it to allow Kaiser Wilhelm’s carriage to pass through.

Cloud Gate, a public sculpture by Indian-born British artist Anish Kapoor, is the centerpiece of the AT&T Plaza in Millennium Park. Constructed between 2004 and 2006, the sculpture is nicknamed The Bean because of its legume-like shape. Made up of 168 stainless steel plates welded together, its highly polished exterior has no visible seams. It is 33 feet by 66 feet by 42 feet (10 m × 20 m × 13 m), and weighs 110 short tons (99.8 t; 98.2 long tons).
Kapoor's design was inspired by liquid mercury and the sculpture's surface reflects and distorts the city's skyline. Visitors are able to walk around and under Cloud Gate's 12-foot (3.7 m) high arch. On the underside is the omphalos, a concave chamber that warps and multiplies reflections. [more]

Melinda Gates: ” The premise of this foundation is one life on this planet is no more valuable than the next”.
Melinda Gates (Co-chairman, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation U.S.) has recently stepped up her public profile, spearheading the foundation's campaigns to fight global diseases, develop agriculture and improve education. Now that her husband is also devoting his full attention to these efforts, he's had to stay in stride—Melinda's an avid long-distance runner.
This is a steel replica of one of Rotterdam's old city gates. (In the medieval city of Rotterdam there were 10 gates in total.) The original gate was moved to another location (taking it down was a bit too much to ask!) because it was getting in the way of the increasing traffic. Most of the gate got destroyed during the bombing by the Germans in 1940 and the city council decided to not rebuild the gate. Instead this steel replica was erected in 1995 with some of the original ornaments being displayed.
With this picture I complete my book of Rotterdam! First I will finish the Dutch version, as my "leaving present" for the city I have spent many happy years in and then I'll translate it for my English viewers. As many of you know, I will be moving back to England in August!
Another shot of the Lions Gate Bridge from Stanley Park. The bridge got some new lights so I thought I should go check em out! However, the photo is not the best... alas.
The Brandenburg gate is a former city gate and one of the main symbols of Berlin and Germany. The gate was inaccessible during the length of the Cold War and only reopened officially on December 22, 1989. It's association with the collapse of the Berlin Wall makes it one of the most famous landmarks of Germany.
