Picked up a set of 9 Umbra 3.5" x 3.5" picture frames with some Amazon Trade-In credit. Not sure what I'll do with them exactly, but they're kind of neat. They're slightly curved, have adhesive/nail/magnet backings, and you can write on them with dry erase marker.
Never heard of Umbra before - but it seems they have a serious case of IKEA envy...
Five Million Flowers is an installation art show, featuring LED backlit honeycomb in bee hive frames. Each front is adorned with a translucent image of a woman from around the world, all sisters to the Queen. The Queen Bee, Hymenoptera, invited you to see deep into the blue spectrum. Those wanting to light candles to the Queen, for their own desires or to honor the bees, leave treasures for her in her beehive basket.
My granddaughter found old toys and old photo frames, glued on and sprayed silver, and she won a Highly Commended
so.. not exactly according to plan. i was planning on having most of the frames on just one wall. but my mom convinced me to spread it out a little. not like there's much more space to work with. but yeah.
between watching the project runway marathon and doing this.. it fucken took all day.
to-do list:
1. finish putting up frames.
2. organize closet space.
wish i could paint. actually, i can but i don't want to pay for paint and then have to pay for paint again (so it can return to this stagnant off-white) when/if we move out.
