I took the opportunity to snap some photos of the solar disk yesterday afternoon and am attempting to learn a bit more about post-processing this type of image today.
I took my three best DNG frames and converted them to TIF. Then I opened, aligned and stacked those three frames in Registax6, saving the result as "Combined.tif"
Then I opened the best individual frame TIF and the Combined.tif in Photoshop CS2 and took a screen shot at Actual Pixels. This is the resulting PNG file.
All of this is prior to any Photoshop post-processing, which I will be attempting next. This was simply an attempt to improve the source file that we would be post-processing.
"Pixel-peeping" is often looked down upon as being anal, but in the case of astrophotography, I think it is essential in evaluating your mages and creating the best end result possible. Still learning...
Andy, Brent, Briene, Claire, Reagan, Cait, Cree, Beth, Brittany, Alexis, (and maybe more?) put together a photo shoot in BATS, with models/makeup/hair/clothes/lights/props.

This is my dual desktop desktop (heh) that I have on my computer at work. I was inspired by inaudiblewhisper's "Sleek Wood Desktop" and decided to create my own.
All of the picture frames are dynamic, and each randomly cycles through a dedicated folder containing appropriately-sized pictures. The big frame on the right is solely for movie posters ('cause I'm a giant nerd). The other interactive features are a useable whiteboard, clock, calendar and trash can. I'm still looking for a good widget that will allow me to use any picture to my desktop as a shortcut to launch a file, link or program. If anyone knows of such a widget, please let me know!

The two Firefly (well, technically Serenity) maquettes are actually my designs, and were created by Quantum Mechanix. You can see them here and here.
The other bits and pieces I found in various places online. The biggest challenge was finding things that roughly matched the perspective of the floor. The appearance of the white matte above the photos is created by adding an inner shadow to the photos in Photoshop.
