Better On Black

Another view from East Broadway, Chinatown Manhattan. Pretty similar but closer and play with some DoF. Comparing to this one, which one you like better?

- Forward ....., ..... move over water, on land or sky ... move .... as a team or alone ... move .... especially advance ........

- Avanzar....., avanzar sobre el agua....., sobre la tierra o el cielo..., avanzar...., en equipo o en soledad..., avanzar...., sobre todo avanzar......

Resetting the clock forward tonight means I'll be grumpy tomorrow morning (but I do like the longer evening light).

Take Aim: signs of spring

125 in 2025, #54 leaning (and it took me a long time to figure out how to prop the minifigure up at a leaning-forward angle)

Life is full of surprises; we never know what's ahead around the corner, but we keep moving forward.

I am truly looking forward to getting a few more shots like this in the future. Wanted to wait till after my visit with the surgeon and my latest check-up. He’s every bit as pleased as I am and hopefully, I’ll be back on the water very quickly. He lifted all of the restrictions on me and I am free to return to all of my activities. The eyes are in perfect working order and it will be a completely different view though the lens of the camera. I should be able to spot things a bit better in the wild and then it’s up to me to make the best of those moments.

It will likely be a couple of weeks before I can feel comfortable being the motor in that 16 foot long canoe. It’s also the middle of summer and since I’ve not exercised much over the past month, I’ll have to adjust to those outdoor activities during the heat. I’ll be just fine.

The only other issue is that I will need a pair of reading glasses and some glasses for working on the computer. In the past I needed to be about a foot away from the monitor to see things clearly, but now have the monitor shoved as far away as possible so that things are nice and sharp. Will have to see how challenging adjusting the camera will be. Only time will tell. It will be a month before the final evaluation will take place as it takes time for the eyes to heal. Looking forward to seeing everyone’s photos and my photos a bit more clearly. Wishing everyone a wonderful week ahead. Want to thank everyone for your kind thoughts and prays and know that they are deeply appreciated.

Thank you so very much.

Peace.

We should regret our mistakes and learn from them, but never carry them forward into the future with us.

A very warm, but fun day at the Prince George's County Equestrian Center.

The PVDA's "Dressage for Life"

Forward swept wings are an obvious feature of both the S-37 (left) from Russian and the X-29 (right) from the US. The latter was purely intended as a research aircraft and to save costs and because it didn't have to carry weapons or combat systems, the aircraft could be made quite small. The Sukhoi design was intended to eventually replace the Su-27 Flanker as Russia's air superiority fighter, and consequently was supposed to have a long range and advanced sensor systems and it had an internal weapons bay. As a result it's a big beast. Both of these models were built at the same scale of roughly 1/40, so the size comparison is realistic.

Again, you can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something - your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life.

► █░▓ LAST SUMMER I payed a visit to my watchmaker. After almost four years I was looking forward to se him and replace a battery in my watch. A young woman, which happened to be his daughter in law, stood behind the counter. She said that he had passed away. I was struck. He was a relatively young and good, healthy looking man. A real gentleman, like all watchmakers used to be in old Belgrade.

—She took my condolences and kindly let me take a picture of this old watch in the drawer while I was still confused with what I'd just heard.

This old Eterna watch plays kind of a symbolic roll in my memory. We've been using other devices to read time for a while already. In this electronic day and age not just the watchmakers pass away, as they always have; their craft is dying too. Along with a superb craft of designing and making beautiful watches like this one. Let anyone show me any modern watch design that can distantly match this one.

The time has stopped for the watchmaker and his favorite timepiece; the eternity has obviously opened up. But note that the pointer hasn’t reached ETERNA, and that both the pointers are slightly bent and have a broken part. Even the time – for us humans the boldest, the least malleable and the most insurmountable of all dimensions – has to stop at the gate of eternity.

We will never be truly able to understand eternal life from the perspective of this world. Yet, there are so many people who think that something they don’t fathom cannot be true or even doesn’t exist, just because they cannot grasp it.

Personal Notes, April, 1940

"During dusk, we pushed forward, towards Daugavpils in our Type 36. The artillery holes were large, but I am glad we're the secondary line. While the 3rd and 4th armies were containing the Russian forces in Rezekne, we were directed towards Daugavpils to take out their supply chains and to make a returning offensive, where the Captain says we'll either be going down into Belorussia or up to Ostrov.

Belorussia has been lost, at least in the south. We may have to turn south, but I have a hope that we may also head towards Vitebsk, and fight our way to Pskov, and maybe even Leningrad.

I am just worried that we may be unleashing the beast."

First day of British Summer Time, what a way to enter, have not been in this spot since the clocks were similar last year, just one perfect eve to watch and soak it all in.

I went to see Styling forward for the first time and the theme was Christmas. I was soooo amazed by the beautiful and elegant style of Leandra Breen.

I know she always looks great, anywhere and all the time. But she was truly a queen that day so i couldn't resist to take a snapshot of her.

Here she is the one and only: Leandra Breen!

Watching rugby is one of my bigger interests. There's always plenty of character to be captured.
