Went out to the local woods with my camera earlier today, the light was good. Unfortunately, I didn't get anything worth publishing, but it felt good to put on my walking boots and wade through muddy puddles.
So here is an insect taken in our garden during the summer. Hopefully will have something new to post soon.
Hope you're all having a great weekend ❤️

...on the water away to Lysefjord
I love this kind of weather and, above all, the atmosphere it creates. This situation also always gives me a clear deck and unobstructed view. So, folks, hold on tight and dive into these fjords.

The Cathedral Spires perch above Sky Pond in Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado. To get here for sunrise in winter is a bit of an endeavor, as the trailhead is some 4+ miles distant, there is significant unconsolidated snow to navigate, and the wind can be a bit stiff at times. Here, I am gazing to the east, with the wind at my back, standing on the frozen surface of the lake.
I'll be leaving the country for awhile (backpacking in Chile), so won't be able to appreciate any of your work for some time. I look forward to checking in when I get back!

The Teegles are designed by Rayne Absinthe (rayne.absinthe), who just added four new unique and beautiful breeds to our rezzers, making it now a total of 20! amazing horses. They have all been updated for a more comfortable ride in luxurious Nordic style.
The Fram (‘Forward’) is a three-masted schooner (1892) designed by the Scottish-Norwegian naval architect Colin Archer.
The Fram is a three-masted schooner with an overall length of 39 metres (127 feet 11 inches) and a beam of 11 metres (36 feet 1 inch). The ship is both exceptionally wide and exceptionally shallow to better withstand the forces of the ice. The disadvantage of this design was that it rolled more than most ships in heavy seas.
She was used on three historic polar expeditions:
Nansen Arctic Expedition (1893-1896).
Sverdrup's Arctic expedition (1898-1902).
Amundsen's South Pole expedition (1910-1912).
No other expedition yacht has gone further north or south. It was a milestone in exploration.

Street photography from Glasgow, Scotland.
On my way into Glasgow yesterday I collapsed at the bus station. I suddenly felt faint, noticed my heart rate had halved to 30 beats per minute, felt my blood pressure drop as I checked my pulse, pins and needles in my hands and my vision closing in. Fortunately I lowered myself to the floor before I passed out completely.
An ambulance ride, pin cushion arms (that will soon resemble a paint by numbers) and several hours in the hospital later, I am at home pending an outpatient 72 hour ECG test.
Finally, however, my ectopic palpitations, arrhythmia and bradycardia have been noticed by the right people. Since Covid I have suffered these episodes where I get a cluster of symptoms for a week or two and then I am fine for a few weeks. Seemingly at random. Hopefully by the time I get the ECG test it will capture an episode of the arrhythmia as my previous 24 hour ECG didn't see anything.
Trying to push through and get into Glasgow yesterday was a mistake but I did feel fine when I left home. Lesson learned and I am now resting, a lot.
I hope that you are all having a great weekend and are able to enjoy some photography. I shall get my vicarious enjoyment through your images here on Flickr. Take care.
2. Poetry - Include the words of a poem in your image. The photo itself should be inspired by the poem. The words may be added using your photo editing software of choice, or you may photograph them. Major bonus points for writing an original poem for this assignment. (Thanks to 4inthehouse who suggested "words, poetry, lyrics on a picture.")

January.
January gets a bad rap. Yeah.... the holidays that most people look forward to are over... the next paid holiday (at least in my world) is Memorial Day! Most of us have eaten our way through the holidays and have now made ridiculous resolutions about losing weight, exercising and getting healthy... along with numerous other resolutions that rarely survive the first month of the year. It's cold. It's dark.... it's dark when we get up and dark when we get out of work. It's like an endless Monday.... (well, for most people... I, personally love Mondays, so that's not really how I feel!) ... 31 days straight of
Mondays for everyone else. And speaking of Mondays... and survival... here's another fun fact (almost as fun as the one about owls eating the heads off of pheasants).... The third Monday of January is regarded as the most depressing day of the year. It actually has the highest suicide rate of any other day of the year. Yup.... did you know that? And it's coming.... I'm going to survive Monday... because, hey! it's my favorite day of the week... now, Tuesday... that's another story altogether.
Anyway.... there are good things about January. It's a "catch up" month. We get to do things that we didn't have time to do because we were prepping for the holidays. It's dark... so we get to come home from work and put pajamas on at 7:00 (some of us are even asleep by 7:30!!) So, we get to catch up on sleep. It's cold... so we get to use wool.... wool blankets, wool scarves, wool sweaters, wool fingerless gloves. I love wool. Oh...and we get to wear many layers... which hide the extra pounds that have been added due to all of the chocolate covered goodies that appeared in the kitchen at work during all of December. It's cold and dark... so it gives us an excuse to curl up under blankets, with a good book, and go to sleep early. And if there's something you are supposed to do, that you don't want to.... you can pray for snow to get out of it... or just use the excuse... it's too cold. And if you do go out, like when I go to Waterloo Village every day...you have the place all to yourself (because it's cold... and it's dark!!) ... but having the place all to myself... PERFECT!! Just the way I like it! There... don't you feel better already? Yeah, I have no problem with January, and it's almost over anyway (although I have several other things to whine and complain about that aren't even close to being over... ugh)

Fun and games at Green Lane, The Wirral as a Merseyrail class 508 EMU enters the station from the underground section.
I was drawn to the repetitive arrowhead of the footbridge and approaching EMU. A change of pace, and probably limited appeal, but I figured it was worth waiting for a couple of trains to get what I was after.

The sun was in the perfect position to rise between the mountains for sunrise, but that was just one element. I had taken a few photos of the tree the evening before and the water was perfectly still, lovely reelections with a few clouds in the sky. Fast forward 12 hours and it was windy with hardly any clouds in the sky. Luckily i'd set up an hour before sunrise and managed to get a bit of the early morning colour.
