Friday before finals. I am sitting on a wooden deck a few feet away from The Eastern Sea. it is that peaceful near-dusk time of day when things seem to be quiet and reflective. the sky fades into a light yellow near the edges, the grass is green, and the space between wood planks makes straight black stripes.
analytical chemistry dissolves between notes, the anxiety fades. I'm not scared of anything, and the whole world is beautiful.
I need music, just like everyone does. on some days, that's pretty much all I need.
I'm an unrequited Minnesota lover, but I was listening to something the other day (maybe it was TV on the radio, or Nick Drake, or Iron & Wine), and I found it.

it has been a good semester. I met people, I learned things, and I'm pretty sure I did good-person things somewhere in there. there's still no such thing as wasted time, outside of the box. there's still no such thing as wasted time behind the lens.
