I am entranced with this buds-about-to-open stage and here I used some colorful flowers, which were in brighter sunlight, as background.

The lily-of-the-Nile moniker is actually a misnomer since the species is actually native to South Africa. It is also called African Lily.

The famous and most well known stag beetle of them all and quite a nice subject to photograph... if you could find one! :) This is a field stack of a specimen found a little bit less than 1 year ago.

Fall arrived last night with quite a Las Vegas wind storm. These little acorns were scattered all around today. Either sweep them up or do a photo. What else. 14 shot focus stack with window light from the side and a ring light on the the lens.

my first attempt at stacking (using Zerene) - I am impressed with the program's ability to merge the 10 photos together, given that they were taken handheld with a strong breeze and poor light. I think this could be the way forward for my macro attempts...
