"It seems to be a law of nature, inflexible and inexorable, that those who will not risk cannot win." - John Paul Jones

The second day of training wasn't an improvement. I actually found today worse than yesterday. It was a revolving door of teachers as the school had messed up the scheduling and just as things were starting resemble some sort of sense, the teacher would switch again.
By the end of the day, I was exhausted and feeling discouraged. It's not easy to hear that everything you say is wrong and still keep your spirits up.
Needless to say, by the time quitting time rolled around, I was more than ready to leave!
Oh well, hope everyone has had a good day.

The bird fluttered and flitted around Briar's head for some time before it settled down in the nest of her hair <3

This is one of those crazy butterflies that flutters ALL the time! The entire time we were at the butterfly center I never saw this butterfly land on a flower and sit still to sip the nectar. It actually sipped while fluttering!
You wouldn't believe the number of shots taken just trying to get a clear view of those wings. This was the best I managed. Not 100% sure, but am guessing this is a female Great Mormon butterfly.
Seen at the Cecil B Day Butterfly Center, at Callaway Gardens. The center used to provide visual lists of the butterflies on display, but that was years ago. Fortunately, I took photos of them to try and ID the butterflies once I got home.
My husband and I went for a hike yesterday. We came across a small roost of Monarch butterflies!!! It was amazing to watch them as it was fairly windy and yet they navigated the wind and rode the currents beautifully. On our way back to our house there were a lot of them feasting on the wild flowers that grow along the road!
Kuranda has several attractions for tourists; I was most impressed with the Australian Butterfly Sanctuary: an extraordinary diversity of these pretty creatures, and plenty of them, often quite inclined to land unexpectedly on a hat or even a resting hand. The best I've been to!

The final photos from my trip. I will then be only 3 months behind BUT my last trip had enough photos to last many months!
I saw several of these at this location but this was my first photo at the small pond. I love the species and the photo so make no apologies for uploading another photo of one. A final reminder of the trip.

A good head and a good heart are always a formidable combination.

Yes, this year in our large kitchen, the theme is ALL HEARTS... lol.
In many countries, it is quite traditional to have handmade and woven decorations in white and red, silver and gold...
I have shoots where they give me things to photograph and never want it back, that means I can do my free photography when I have time, and after that, it goes to the charity shop.
Sprinkle a bit of festive angle-dust around you, you'll feel great!
And don't ever let the child in you die!
I wish you all the very best, and thank you for all your kind words, time, comments and faves. Very much appreciated. M, (*_*)

July has arrived so time for the obligatory swallowtail butterfly photograph. Bit of a challenge today there was a slight breeze moving the plant about and my assistant Hank decide to try and catch the subject every time it landed. Still in the end we were successful.
