MANY MORE OF MY ANIMAL AND BIRD IMAGES HERE!

A plant that makes a noise or a music in the wind. Every garden is incomplete without a satisfying background sound.

I chased you all over the garden, nut I finally gotcha!!

The little beauty fluttering and busy collecting the pollens - Thailand

No, really, that is what members of the Diptera family Pallopteridae are called: Flutter flies. This one is Toxonevra superba. It waves its boldly-marked wings alternately as it walks. Leavenworth, Kansas, USA, November 3, 2022.

Graphic Flutterer Dragonfly (Rhyothemis graphiptera) in my back garden earlier today. I never realised until today that the markings were reflective purple, as in previous instances they've just appeared as a dark grey/brown to my eye. I always thought they were attractive, but WOW.

Brisbane, Australia.

Spring. The time of year when I start crawling around on the ground trying to take photographs of flowers. These are miniature Iris so I had to get down low, and get dirty - It had been mucky windy day weather wise. I love the dark inky blue of these Iris with their bold splashes of orange and yellow, and the way they seem to be poking out their tongues at my efforts to take a reasonable photograph of them !

If you listen closely you can hear the flutter....butterfly wings floating through your daydreams...

Graphic Flutterer,

Rhyothemis graphiptera,

A female Brimstone butterfly launches itself from a perennial sweet pea flower at Magdalen Hill Down. The Brimstones seemed to absolutely love this plant. Will definitely be planting some for next year.
