Okay it's been a few minutes and no progress, upping the revs to 1500 RPM

Engine running, flight plan inputted. I'm just hopping between waypoints, taking into no consideration yet any IFR regulations

Slightly different route back to head over Long Island for a bit

Coming around on base for final into Rwy28

Spotting one of the decommissioned runways at Calverton, which is now an office park

Historic Meigs Field on Lake Michigan next to Chicago. Not historic enough to save it as an airfield though, it is now a park though original buildings remain

Climbing out through a hole in the weather. As usual it's windy in the Windy City and the clouds have blown past for now

Back up in the air again while Andrew still works through his issues. Poor guy just hasn't had much luck with this sim :/

More hot springs and the Sapphire Pool as well to the right

Found Yellowstone Lake, hard to miss once you can see it

Looking out towards the Canyon of the Yellowstone, our next destination

I landed so softly it took a moment for Landing Inspector to realize I actually landed

Brrr chill! Ready to break camp and head out from Elk Island on Jackson Lake

My wing tip dug into the ice but did not catch as I was blown sideways by a cross wind

Looking out towards all the touristy spots of Yellowstone to the north

Following the Gibbon River towards West Yellowstone. Can see Hebgen Lake in the distance although I couldn't recognize it at first since I could only see the Madison Arm before realizing the Grayling Arm was iced over

Tightened up in echelon as we climb towards the Teton range. Grand Teton is hiding in clouds off to the north

Up and over the peaks at the southern end of the range

Looking back at the jagged eastern peaks

Left the main range behind, cruising along Jackson Lake

Circling around to descend after catching up with Andrew. We'll pick a spot and try to land

Okay, next attempt at another location worked out for Andrew so I am now making my own approach

ZOOM! There he is, Andrew was able to see me much easier and caught up

Making an attempt at another ridge, aiming to crest the slope on my roll out

Niiiice and easy... eeeaaassy does it....

I landed okay but then when I rolled out over the top of the ridge I couldn't stop in time before plummeting off the other side to my death

Whoohoo! Serious slope tho, after landing I had to redline it just to hold position

Back in the air again, ready to head for the camp site but Andrew wants to try one more...

I landed on my first attempt and here is Andrew flying by on his second abort after failing to bleed speed on approach

A better approach similar to mine but he still nosed over on landing. I reminded him he needed back pressure on the stick after touchdown. He was fine on his third attempt with that in mind

Camp is pitched! What a view we have to enjoy while around the camp fire

Holding short ready to taxi out at Johnson County (KBYG) to runway 13

Ghostly terrain features alight

Stuck to the glideslope all the way in for a nice soft landing

Here's what the Crazy Horse Monument looks like
