199/365: I couldn't resist this teacup and saucer on our travels...I can't even remember where I bought it, we visited so many places.

160/365: Today is world gin day apparently. I hadn't realised until my son told so it's a good job I had a gin and tonic while out to lunch with friends. This set up is just with water...I can't have you thinking I have a drink problem ;)

It was a dreary rainy morning, so I decided to play and challenge myself and work on a monochrome flat lay. I'm off to return the yellow items to their regular places. I hope this brightened your day a little.

Day 257/365:

It's been an exhausting few days with a few false alarms but our little granddaughter finally arrived early this morning. So now we have two precious grandchildren. Ideally I would have made this high key but didn't do it until late.

13/30: April 2020: A month in 30 pictures

The little vase (part of a trio), and the stars in the corners are from our trip to Anglesey in January. So lovely to have these pre lockdown memories. Makes me realise how lucky we were to actually get a holiday this year when so many have been cancelled or postponed until goodness knows when. I love to bring back little things for the home and or photo props. The starfish are from our trip to Lanzarote last year. The little buttons and pearls from my craft stash I often use as decorations on gifts.

I can't take credit for the title, my husband came up with it.

Giving MM a miss this week as I couldn't find my macro mojo.

One of my peonies fell apart as I went to take a photo so I had to change tack. As I put the petals in the cup they seemed to take on the shape of the peony. At the risk of getting boring I thought I'd use my new heart again.

Some more of the flowers from my flower delivery, some of my favourite jewellery...and the star which is part of a set that I bought on my trip to Anglesey in January...not forgetting my white lace scarf that I bought on a trip to Menorca many years ago.

Compimentary Colors

For 52Frames.

I was making sure to really look around at my surroundings to find some nice complimentary colors. Then I was doing laundry & before I could wash my new socks (That look exactly like Juan's socks) I had to sew little threads into the bottoms - so I can tell the difference. Then I looked down and noticed the red and green threads... So I did a flat lay - using a few of my sewing items.

I like the way this turned out. :)

a micro flat lay of sprinkles

For Macro Mondays #red theme

I was feeling so accomplished this morning. I got up at 5:40, went to Jazzercise, stopped by the grocery store and set up to take my image all before 8:00. You wouldn't think this would have been that hard to put together but fruits and veggies are roundish and want to roll away so I had to herd them back into the pile. I had it all set up, snapped a few shots only to discover I had things in the frame that weren't supposed to be so I had to rearrange and shoot again. Working on my mmmm Monday series. Wishing you a delicious rainbow today!

I wanted to do a flat lay shot of some strawberries for a while now. Finally got a chance today. I used a flash on the upper right side and a reflector on the lower right to create the lighting for the picture. Photo is straight out of camera. :)

I had a flower deliver today so thought I'd use one of the beautiful roses for today's photo.

Topaz Filters

As much as I would like to change this composition, it is set and frozen. I tried to shift the hearts around, and the petals started falling out of my frozen hearts, so I learned to accept what is. Each heart is unique and has it's own shape and characteristics that shifted into place naturally as the water froze. Much like with people, we have gone through things that have changed us in profound ways. Remember to be kind, we are all broken in some way.

4/30: April 2019: A month in 30 pictures

I wanted to use this box of chocolates I had for Mother's Day, before all the chocolates disappeared...I really can't think who has been eating them. I had also decided that I would use the forsythia in one of my photos so it seemed perfect to accompany the yellow box for a spring image. The chocolates were lovely...in case you wondered :)

A surprise envelope from France arrived to my mailbox!

Odile sent me beautiful autumn treasures that she collected from her garden ... these Ginkgo leaves are a wonderful example of the autumn color palette. He also sent me an envelope with Cosmo seeds, which I hope will fill my garden with color next summer. The beautiful paper buntings are a preview of Christmas time that is approaching.

12/31: October 2018: A month in 31 pictures

These leaves were ready to fall from our acer bush so I gave them a helping hand for todays shot.

I am so behind with commenting after having been in France for a week and then my sister was staying with us for a week. We are going to be away for the weekend...probably with no internet. I will try to catch up when back.

December is behaving badly. Ok, so maybe December is just behaving the way it should be - cold and snowy. I think when it is like this, it is a good time to stay inside, cuddle up and embrace the hygge lifestyle, don't you think? ☺️

Nothing special but I just wanted to take a photo. The weather has been a bit grim, the news even grimmer, so a blue flat lay to try to beat the winter blues.

I like to use things that bring back memories for me. I bought the fabric necklace in Lanzarote, the star in Anglesey. The thread belonged to my mother-in-law and the Reckitt's blue squares are from a trip to an antique store in Canada (with two wonderful Flickr friends.) I bought them because when I was a hairdressing apprentice, many years ago, ladies used Reckitt's blue bags (which were designed for whiter laundry) to rinse their hair to take away any yellow. How things have changed.
