34/52: The weekly challenge - A place I love

I know this may seem a bit of a cop out and in a sense it is as I am behind with the challenge and wanted to get this one done. However, home is a place I love and although we travel a lot, I get extremely homesick and there really is nowhere else I'd rather be.

We are just going away for a few days (it is a home from home though) no internet access so will try to catch up when back. Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.

The shot I had planned for today suited tomorrow better, so desperation set in!!

Lol. It happens 😁

125/365: I always feel so guilty when I pick flowers as photo props but I do keep them in water and try to use them again. We are going to refit our bathroom and got some tile samples. I thought this one would make a great textured backdrop. I thought it looked quite like a wall and that the flowers might look nice against it. Okay, I am getting desperate for ideas now!

Smile on Saturda! - Odd one out

10/30: April 2019: A month in 30 pictures

The photo I had planned for today didn't work so here are my ballet shoes again (a fairly recent acquisition) along with the tickets from our trip to the opera...present for a big birthday several years ago.

I was having withdrawal symptoms as I'm not getting a lot of time to use my camera lately. It's a grey old day here and threatening to rain again so I thought I'd get some grey stuff out for a flat lay...there's a nice pot of tea waiting to be poured too.

Crazy Tuesday theme: fruit still life

Thank you for your kind comments and favs. All are greatly appreciated. HCT

When Niqui get busy on a crafting project, all sorts of materials get used. This is just a small array for her current project of making a needle case for herself. Busy, but quiet.

Collective 52 Photo Project. Week 15/52- ''Mask''

Why I always wear a face mask when renovating.

257/365: I know...another high key and more lavender. I set this up last night to save me thinking about something today as we are going away for the weekend. I am not likely to have internet access so will try to catch up when back.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.

Time to put the wreath on the front door. I made this wreath a few years ago from flowers I had made from old books. Sorry if you're getting fed up with my gold star! :) Wishing you all a lovely weekend.

Ooooops, I may just have bought even more lace yesterday.

April 2023: A month in 30 pictures

I was going to use the tulips again today but it's been one of those days and this backdrop was still out from yesterday so I thought I'd try to do something different with it. Although it is pretty much the same style as yesterday's photo. The roses are from my Mother's Day flowers.

I couldn't think of a title so just picked up on the 'chain' from the cotton reel!

I have been trying to gradually catch up with commenting but spending too much time on the computer is really not helping my back so once again I must apologise. I may have to just stop by and hit the star button to show my appreciation of your images, for the time being. Once I have finished the April challenge I will probably have to take a bit of a break from Flickr again.

I have even more spices in my pantry than I thought!! Best viewed large for the details and textures.

More lockdown fun in the studio.

One of the many things my mother often said, meaning: "Something like: frugality is enjoying the virtue of getting good value for every minute of your life energy and from everything you have the use of." Her saying could refer to a good old coat, buttons and snaps, old zippers and balls of wool, but also to a leftover cake in the refrigerator.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Een van de vele wijsheden van mijn moeder. De uitspraak kon betrekking hebben op een goede oude jas, knopen en drukkertjes, oude ritsen en bolletjes wol, maar ook op een restje taart in de ijskast.

3652/365: My mojo isn't being very kind to me at this busy time. Luckily I remembered these little pine cones I bought.

4/100: 100 x challenge - Flowers

4/100: 100 Flowers 2020

More from my bunch of tulips, I will use some other flowers for the challenges but I thought I'd make the most of the tulips for the moment. I couldn't decide between this one with two tulips or one with three. I know it should have been three but I quite liked the space where the third one was and rules are made to be broken.

15/52: The weekly/monthly challenge - Comfort zone - I am at my most comfortable doing still life, flatlays or macro so I guess I could have used any photo this week.

I love fresh flowers and recently signed up to a flower delivery service. The first delivery arrived today. They are beautiful so I felt they deserved to appear in a photo...well, probably more than one...I need to get my money's worth.

Edit: I've just been notified that changes are coming to the way I log into Flickr and to update my login now. This happened to a friend and she got locked out of her account for a while. I hope this won't happen but if it does that will explain if I am absent and can't post my daily pics for a while. Fingers crossed.

My hobby craft stuff from doing the bowling balls.

Smile on Saturday.

Flat Lay.

I had only one peony this year in my garden and I cut it as I wished to add it to my friend Marie-France's bag flatlay picture.

2 days after, the peony I had kept in a vase started to lose its petals. I thought I could make a last picture of it before throwing it away.

I used one of Kim's presets but don't remember which one...

October 2023: A month in 31 pictures

I went out for a walk with my camera earlier only to discover the battery was dead. Took a couple of shots with my phone but nothing I was pleased with. By the time I was ready to take a photo the light had gone so it was a low key or the light pad. Grabbed these obliging Japanese anemones from the garden and here's my offering for day eight.

I haven't done a high key for a while, welcome back old friend.

May it be healthy, peaceful and happy for everyone!

Just some of the many spices I have for my curries. Found a book in Costco Liverpool which has an un-believable 1,000 recipes!!

Day 231/365:

Definitely Dreaming: Not whole. Not the whole keyboard.

I took the image on my MacBook, with my iPhone, a couple of days ago but wasn't really happy with it. I went on to take the one with the roses which I was more pleased with.

Too much pain to set anything up today. I have a little table in front of an upright chair that I sit on with either an ice pack or a hot water bottle to relieve the pain. So I took this iPhone image of the photo on my MacBook screen...and that will have to do for today. Just pleased to get another day done and at the moment that is all I can hope for. All looking a bit samey though, let's call it a series ;)

The ebook I am reading is part of the Outlander series. Book seven of Nine. They are all between 1000-1200 pages long so not for the faint hearted.

214/365: My mojo took the day off, I really struggled for ideas today until I decided to use the lavender again, and tea...again! Btw this is not lavender tea. I tried it once and thought it tasted like disinfectant.

I am just beginning to catch up but will be away for a few days again, with no internet access. I will do my best to catch up when back. Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.

228/365: The wreath I made on Sunday, in it's finished state. Sorry about so many lavender photos lately but I think I can still come up with more and maybe another with the wreath.

Compositionally Challenged Week 26 - Celebrate

Smile on Saturday theme: flat lay

Today's photo is a cozy still life since it is such a rainy and blah day. It is that dreary, rainy and very windy kind of day that is too gross even for me to go outside for my walk. I stayed indoors and got a lot of deep cleaning done of the things I have been procrastinating about doing. I am still not done and have more to do tomorrow.

Thanks for visiting, friends! I hope you had a lovely Sunday, wherever you are.
