10/30: April 2019: A month in 30 pictures

The photo I had planned for today didn't work so here are my ballet shoes again (a fairly recent acquisition) along with the tickets from our trip to the opera...present for a big birthday several years ago.

October 2023: A month in 31 pictures

I went out for a walk with my camera earlier only to discover the battery was dead. Took a couple of shots with my phone but nothing I was pleased with. By the time I was ready to take a photo the light had gone so it was a low key or the light pad. Grabbed these obliging Japanese anemones from the garden and here's my offering for day eight.

I haven't done a high key for a while, welcome back old friend.

When Niqui get busy on a crafting project, all sorts of materials get used. This is just a small array for her current project of making a needle case for herself. Busy, but quiet.

One of the many things my mother often said, meaning: "Something like: frugality is enjoying the virtue of getting good value for every minute of your life energy and from everything you have the use of." Her saying could refer to a good old coat, buttons and snaps, old zippers and balls of wool, but also to a leftover cake in the refrigerator.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Een van de vele wijsheden van mijn moeder. De uitspraak kon betrekking hebben op een goede oude jas, knopen en drukkertjes, oude ritsen en bolletjes wol, maar ook op een restje taart in de ijskast.

257/365: I know...another high key and more lavender. I set this up last night to save me thinking about something today as we are going away for the weekend. I am not likely to have internet access so will try to catch up when back.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.

10/31: October 2018: A month in 31 pictures

Ooooops, I may just have bought even more lace yesterday.

I have even more spices in my pantry than I thought!! Best viewed large for the details and textures.

More lockdown fun in the studio.

Wishing everyone a joyous season.

3652/365: My mojo isn't being very kind to me at this busy time. Luckily I remembered these little pine cones I bought.

Day 4: 365

Definitely Dreaming - Man Made

I set this flat lay up yesterday while the idea was fresh in my head.

I bought these printers blocks at a vintage emporium while visiting our son and daughter-in-law in Nottingham. It's a good job it was almost closing time or I could have got really carried away. Arranged with some of my other vintage props and the number 4 (for day 4) along with the little letters bottom left, from my craft stash.

Now to try to think ahead for tomorrow's photo.

4/100: 100 x challenge - Flowers

4/100: 100 Flowers 2020

More from my bunch of tulips, I will use some other flowers for the challenges but I thought I'd make the most of the tulips for the moment. I couldn't decide between this one with two tulips or one with three. I know it should have been three but I quite liked the space where the third one was and rules are made to be broken.

12/30: April 2019: A month in 30 pictures

15/52: The weekly/monthly challenge - Comfort zone - I am at my most comfortable doing still life, flatlays or macro so I guess I could have used any photo this week.

I love fresh flowers and recently signed up to a flower delivery service. The first delivery arrived today. They are beautiful so I felt they deserved to appear in a photo...well, probably more than one...I need to get my money's worth.

Edit: I've just been notified that changes are coming to the way I log into Flickr and to update my login now. This happened to a friend and she got locked out of her account for a while. I hope this won't happen but if it does that will explain if I am absent and can't post my daily pics for a while. Fingers crossed.

May it be healthy, peaceful and happy for everyone!

My hobby craft stuff from doing the bowling balls.

Compositionally Challenged Week 46 - Flat Lay & Knolling

I've placed the anise and cinnamon sticks on top of a sheet of clear acrylic, with the acrylic on top of the textured paper. I was trying to get a suggestion of the items floating over the paper, but I don't think that worked. Shot in front of a north facing window as I held white poster board to bounce the light back towards the window to reduce shadows.

Just some of the many spices I have for my curries. Found a book in Costco Liverpool which has an un-believable 1,000 recipes!!

Compositionally Challenged Week 26 - Celebrate

Day 231/365:

Definitely Dreaming: Not whole. Not the whole keyboard.

I took the image on my MacBook, with my iPhone, a couple of days ago but wasn't really happy with it. I went on to take the one with the roses which I was more pleased with.

Too much pain to set anything up today. I have a little table in front of an upright chair that I sit on with either an ice pack or a hot water bottle to relieve the pain. So I took this iPhone image of the photo on my MacBook screen...and that will have to do for today. Just pleased to get another day done and at the moment that is all I can hope for. All looking a bit samey though, let's call it a series ;)

The ebook I am reading is part of the Outlander series. Book seven of Nine. They are all between 1000-1200 pages long so not for the faint hearted.

214/365: My mojo took the day off, I really struggled for ideas today until I decided to use the lavender again, and tea...again! Btw this is not lavender tea. I tried it once and thought it tasted like disinfectant.

I am just beginning to catch up but will be away for a few days again, with no internet access. I will do my best to catch up when back. Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.

Here we are now into November. Isn't that crazy? While it isn't my most favourite month, I still welcome it with open arms. I hope that November is a month filled with endless possibilities, joy and love. ❤️ 🍁

This is my contribution to the "Smile on Saturday" group theme: A single leaf. 🍁

Thanks for visiting and Happy Smile on Saturday!

Day 60/365:

Crazy Tuesday - The rule of odds. Three stars, five buttons on the right hand side and if you count all the objects (which I did) there are an odd number overall. HCT

I was searching for something in my craft room when I came across this piece of card that I had obviously painted for a project and not used.A quick look for matching accessories and today's photo sorted.

I was hoping the 365 would make me leave my comfort zone and try new things. Still, there are 305 days left to do that in.

228/365: The wreath I made on Sunday, in it's finished state. Sorry about so many lavender photos lately but I think I can still come up with more and maybe another with the wreath.

Compositionally Challenged Week 5 - Food from Above

CC Most Versatile - High Key

Smile on Saturday theme: flat lay

Today's photo is a cozy still life since it is such a rainy and blah day. It is that dreary, rainy and very windy kind of day that is too gross even for me to go outside for my walk. I stayed indoors and got a lot of deep cleaning done of the things I have been procrastinating about doing. I am still not done and have more to do tomorrow.

Thanks for visiting, friends! I hope you had a lovely Sunday, wherever you are.

The amount of time and energy used to arrange and take this photo far exceeded the quality of the resulting image.

Happy Crazy Tuesday!
