On my way to Paris on this day I discovered on the site of Invader that three new space invaders were installed overnight. Due to the 'live' function I found out that one of the three was installed here at one of the by tourists most visited squares in Montmartre. In the year 2010 PA_856 came first and still visible and good condition. PA_1276 is totally adapted to the environment. "NICE SHOT" tells the online game FlashInvaders when flashing this one.

This re-activated space invader is like an iceberg, partly not visible. The platform along the quay was added later so that the space invader could not longer be placed entirely. Glad this one is back in Rotterdam. The orignial RTD_24 (photo:
Marc Lammerts "SandrosAmigos") in 2007. Visited this location less than 2 days after re-activation, but came back with better light conditions.

An already proven but not often used concept. Replace mosaic tiles in an existing wall to create a space invader. Near the Préfecture of Bouches-du-Rhône.
Till August 2020 I found and flashed all 13 space invaders of wave 1 (MARS_01 - MARS_11 - 2004 and wave 2 (MARS_12 and MARS_13). But during wave 3 in August 2020 the number of space invaders went up to 97. In total 84 space invaders on my list again.

THE INVASION OF ROTTERDAM
In the year 2001 the city of Rotterdam has been invaded by Invader. It was the 8th city in the world being invaded. In 4 days Invader put 26 space invaders (1 hidden bonus) on the walls of Rotterdam. Sometimes hidden sometimes on very visible locations. In June 2020 three space invaders were re-activated (RTD_01, 18, 22) which made it possible to have flashed almost all 26 space invaders of Rotterdam. Except for the hidden RTD_26 which will never be re-activated because it was located on a wall near the Centraal Station. The area is redevelopped and the wall isn't there anymore.

A yellow lightning flash appeared at the end of June on this corner of the 10ème arrondissement in Paris right above a bar with the matching name Le Flash. Hard to capture in full sunlight, just a few minutes on a Summer morning if you are lucky.
And this all with a wink to the application game FlashInvaders of course!

CAZ_19 [20 points]
This yellow and black invader is located in a climbing narrow winding street in a residential area of Villefranche-sur-Mer. Not easy to find but a pleasure when you find this one in the afternoon with full sunlight. FlashInvaders says "CONGRATULATION! when flashing this one. Re-invaded in the year 2016. According to Google Streetview this was still there in 2010 (3 years after invasion).
The woman in the car is pointing to the driver what I was taking pictures of.

INVASION OF THE CÔTE D’AZUR
In the year 2007 Invader has invaded the entire coast of the French Rivièra. Instead of only one city he made a project of an entire region; Côte d’Azur. Spread out from La Ciotat to the Menton near the border of Italy.
The first wave consisted of 35 space invaders spread out over 24 cities with a total score of 990 points. In 2016 Invader put one invader up in Cavalaire-sur-Mer (CAZ_36) and in 2017 wave number 3 consisted another single one (CAZ_37).
Lots of them have been deleted throughout the years but there are already are about 9 space invaders re-activated.
RTD_21 [10 points]
On Saturday 18/07/2015 a team and group of Space Invader fans gathered together to visit ESTEC Space Center in Noordwijk to see, flash and photograph the 10 space invaders on the site. The second project that day was re-activating 3 space invaders in the center of Rotterdam. I was lucky to witness the rebirth of RTD_21 in the Oude Westen neighbourhood in the center of Rotterdam. So very well done guys!

A still original space invader of 1999 on the wall of a 22 storey high residential building (Orphee Résidence) in the 15ème arrondissement of Paris. The test of time has played a part. I have a photo of 2003 (pre-Flickr time) as well of this one. I still had to "flash" this one and I was in the neighbourhood to visit re-activated PA_174. Good to see an original space invader with the age of 20 years and 8 months (7555 days to be exact) invader still active with only 5 tiles missing.

Always when new space invaders are arriving in town you will encounter fellow space invader fans flashing the new space invader. When I was here there were 334,627 players and this was the 20,936,166th flash since the game started in 2014.

A low outlined space invader of the late ninetees of which I have never seen the original before. Because the street has been raised, the re-activated space invader had to be adjusted and misses half of the tiles. It might be the reason why this one is not flashable with the application FlashInvaders (as we speak in February 2020; more than 125,000 players and more than 6.5 million flashes!)
I flashed this one with other light conditions and and I succeeded.

Another re-activated space invader (cyclope) in Le Panier which made it possible to flash all space invaders in Marseille. Visited the original of MARS_09 in the year 2006.
Marseille has been invaded 13 times devided in 3 invasion waves and the total points in Marseille is 220 points. The first invasion wave took place in the Summer of 2004 with in total 9 space invaders (2019)

PA_204 [10 points]
A 10 points worth orange runner near one of the gateways to the city of Paris. Outlined and not framed and despite of the small size very visible. I accidentally saw this little space invader from the tram that passes by. Knew that the PA_204 was reactivated but had not yet figured out where it should be located. A happy find!
Never have seen the original of this one before.

PA_1276 [30 points]
On my way to Paris on this day I discovered on the site of Invader that three new space invaders were installed overnight. Due to the 'live' function I found out that one of the three was installed here at one of the by tourists most visited squares in Montmartre. In the year 2010 PA_856 came first and still visible and good condition. PA_1276 is totally adapted to the environment. "NICE SHOT" tells the online game FlashInvaders when flashing this one.
