A space invader hunt in Paris and around Paris took me to Montrouge, the termination point of métro line 4...
Location: Place Émile Cresp, Montrouge, Hauts-de-Seine (92), France
Coordinates: 48° 81 '86" N 2° 31' 94" E
Reason: A day trying to catch up in the field of space invader photography and FlashInvaders. A lot a bit outside Paris, like here in Montrouge. But also in Issy and Bagnolet. In total I found 13 space invaders (of which one 're-activation') and in total 560 points extra on FlashInvaders and climbed up from rank 300 to rank 276. More than 80.000 players at the moment so I am still one of the high scorers.
Montrouge: Montrouge is a commune in the southern Parisian suburbs, located 4.4 km from the centre of Paris, France. It is one of the most densely populated municipalities in Europe. After a long period of decline, the population has increased again in recent years. Population around 50,000 and elevation 67–85 meters above sealevel. Montrouge is served by the Mairie de Montrouge station on Paris Métro Line 4, and by the Châtillon – Montrouge station on Paris Métro Line 13.
Mairie de Montrouge: At the background not the city hall but the cultural center of Montrouge. the Mairie de Montrouge station was opened on 23 March 2013 as part of the extension of Metro Line 4 to the south. Two further stations (Verdun Sud on Montrouge southern border, and Bagneux) are due to open in 2020.

Two new space invaders installed the same night in this area of the 16ème arrondissment of Paris. Belle époque and a space invader in the colors of a Paris street name sign. Space invaders PA_1142 through PA_1146 (5 pieces) were installed the same night.

A re-activation which is very hard to capture on picture and also hard to 'flash' by the online game FlashInvaders. A sunscreen which wasn't there during the first installation in 1999 is very annoying in the way here. And the mirror eyes of this one do therefore not work properly (reflections etc.) but another never seen space invader is back in the streets again, this one is in the 2ème arrondissement.

For years this almost 16 years old space invader was hidden away under a layer of white paint and not unrecognizable as a space invader. At least not for outsiders. Space invader fans in the possession of the book "Invasion of Paris" knew where to go over the years. But always seen with the white paint.
Since the game FlashInvaders was introduced it was necessary to have a well recognizable photo for the appllication to gain the 10 points this PA_183 is worth. And so it happened that one of the space invader fans went out to clean this space invader and safe it for the future and made it 'flashable' for the ones who play FlashInvaders.

Re-activated after for the first time long after the introduction of the application FlashInvaders so this meant a revisit to the Rue Haxo. The location is the same but on a different building because the situation of 2007 is not the same anymore. Nevertheless, PA_709 is back and flashable for the 420.000 players of FlashInvaders.

My favorite Parisien street artist is very active these days in Paris. Time again for some space invader hunting for the real fans...
Reason: Following his work for already 9 years now and found a lot of his work around the world and especially in Paris. He is very active the last few days and weeks and some beautiful new invaders are active in the streets of Paris. This is one of his most recent pieces, number 1100 in Paris to be exact.
Location: Paris, 1er arrondissement. On this location, PA_167 used to be located from March 1999 (invaded) till September 2007 (deleted).
GPS: 48°51'55" N 2°20'12" E
Space Invaders: This one has identity PA_1100 which means that this is number 1100 in Paris. A lot of them are still visible in the streets. Some more than 15 years already. Unfortunately a lot have been removed or even worse, been stolen.

I was very lucky to be part of the first space invader tours organized by some of the biggest fans of Invader's work in cooperation with ESTEC. With special thanks to the manager of the Space Expo, Olivier and Invader who brought them together.
After the invasion of ESA (European Space Agency) in Redu Belgium (14 space invaders, 430 points) and Frankfurt (14 space invaders, 430 points), the HQ in Paris also the ESTEC (European Space Research and Technology Centre) in Noordwijk, the Netherlands, has been invaded. On June 3, Invader has put up 10 space invaders of which 2 in and on the Space Expo, a permanent space exposition. In total worth 480 points. This operarion of Invader is referred as SPACE2ISS.
This comet invader is located in the building of ESA Telerobotics Lab and NOO_06 is located in this building as well. The two in this building were hard to flash due to connection problems what could be caused by strong equipment in the building which makes internet reception via 4G makes difficult. But in the end everyone got their photos and flashes.

A revistit to this location near Gambetta for two reasons. First to revisit PA_08 which has been re-activated in June 2015 after it has been removed in 2009 more than 10 years after its invasion. One of the oldest space invader locations in Paris and the world.
Second reason was to 'flash' the Bugs Bunny space invader PA_1083 right above the location of PA_08 (or PA_008)

THE INVASION OF ROTTERDAM
In the year 2001 the city of Rotterdam has been invaded by Invader. In 4 days Invader put 26 space invaders (1 hidden bonus) on the walls of Rotterdam. Sometimes hidden sometimes on very visible locations.
