PA_25 [10 points]
A classic sized and shaped space invader of the first generation in the 3ème arrondissement of Paris. Never seen this one before. Thanks to the re-activeurs it is visible, capturable and flashable again.
Always nice to meet fellow space invader hunters at the spot where a new or fresh re-activated space invader is located. The gilets jaunes are everywhere. At the time I met this woman on her bicycle flashing numer 25 the yellow vests were just for your own road safety.
PA_25 is surrounded by nice street art (among other by ENDANGERED ACTIVISM).

CAZ_08 [30 points]
The lovely hill-built medieval village Saint-Paul-de-Vence has been invaded as well as part of Invader's project of 2007 "Invasion of the Côte d'Azur". For me the third space invader I found, captured and flashed this holiday. FlashInvaders says "Yes!" when flashing this one. According to my information it is still the original and after 10 years still in good shape apart from 3 missing pixels (tiles). The truck was standing in my way from begin to end during my visit to Saint-Vincent-de-Paul (40 minutes).

INVASION OF THE CÔTE D’AZUR
In the year 2007 Invader has invaded the entire coast of the French Rivièra. Instead of only one city he made a project of an entire region; Côte d’Azur. Spread out from La Ciotat to the Menton near the border of Italy.
The first wave consisted of 35 space invaders spread out over 24 cities with a total score of 990 points. In 2016 Invader put one invader up in Cavalaire-sur-Mer (CAZ_36) and in 2017 wave number 3 consisted another single one (CAZ_37).
Lots of them have been deleted throughout the years but there are already are about 9 space invaders re-activated.

Due to the fact that I'm participating in the game FlashInvaders I will be revisiting a lot of active space invaders in Paris. This 2011 Mario character was one of them during my cold but sunny morning walk throught the 15ème, 14ème and 13ème morning walk. A tiled fresque made by Invader which seemed to be tribute to Bloodi, comic's character by Parisian cartoonist Pierre Ouin. A tribute made by big tiles. "Punt is not dead" is visible on your telephone screen when you flash this one with the application FlashInvaders.

Another Paris space invader I have never seen before. Thanks to the re-activator of this blue 10 points worth space invader I was able to flash my 1209th space invader in Paris (out of 1467, which makes 82.4% of all invaders in Paris).

Due to the online smartphone application game FlashInvaders it feels like I have to revisit all still existing space invaders again. It was almost 9 years ago I visited this labyrinth space invader for the very first time (yes, time flies) but due to this game I had to revisit this one as well. I'm doing the game kind of district per district to not losing track which one I have flashed and which one not. A lot of the space invaders I have visited have been deleted, stolen or the entire building has been demolished but a lot are still there. A bit damaged or just in perfect shape.

Always when new space invaders are arriving in town you will encounter fellow space invader fans flashing the new space invader. When I was here there were 334,627 players and this was the 20,936,166th flash since the game started in 2014.

The square is named after Pierre Denfert-Rochereau, the French commander who organized the defense at the siege of Belfort during the Franco-Prussian War (1870–1871). It is dominated by the Lion of Belfort statue (a smaller version of the original in the town of Belfort) by Frédéric Bartholdi.

INVASION OF KÖLN
The city and region of Köln counts a total of 27 space invaders divided over 3 waves. The first wave was in October 2006 and counted 3 space invaders, the second in February 2007 at the same time as the exhibition "Bad Man" in Galerie Joellenbeck. In 2015 a third wave followed in the European Astronaut Center (EAC) in ESA as part of the Space2ISS project.
I had already visited the latter on April 19, 2017 without visiting the other space invaders. I visited, flashed and photographed the others in February 2024.
My score for Cologne is: 22 of the 27 flashed, 1 could not be flashed and 4 were already deleted at the time of my visit.

This totally renovated area around Les Docks and shopping centre Les Terrasses du Port not far from Euromediterranée and Joliette has been invaded as well by this number 46.

An 'outlined' orange space invader of the very first generation recently being re-activated around 30/03/2015. This 30rd space invader in Paris did not have such a long life. One of the most iconic space invaders of Marseille. There is not one space invader in the world that resembles this one. Located in a quiet street when descending from Notre-Dame de la Garde in the direction of Pharo.

This blue and red space invader in the 10ème arrondissement installed in 2005 was hidden behind a thick layer of paint somewhere between 2011 and March 2015. It was therefore not flashable for the game FlashInvaders and one of the most active players of this game and space invader hunter Olivier MOQUIN resqued this one and made it visible again for the fans and people passing by. Thank you for re-activating PA_609 right before its 10th 'birthday' in August 2015!

The colors of Marseille on the Square Stalingrad on the corner of the Allée Léon Gambetta. The first space invader I encountered on this Sunday on which I encountered in total 30 space invaders in the Marseille metropolitan area.

A revisit for the game FlashInvaders in one of the narrow one way side streets of the 11ème arrondissement of Paris. And this all on a cloudy morning in August when the mail man is delivering the mail.

Stewart 'flashing' his first space invader ever. Located in the Rue de la Huchette, PA_874 is worth 30 points and because it was his first space invader of the game he got another 100 bonus points due to 'a new city'.
PA_874 was installed on 18/08/2010 and is still active and 'flashable' as we speak.

Five of the 13 space invaders in Marseille are cyclopes like this. I have never seen the original of this one in the Panier neighbourhood of Marseille. A successful re-activation which made it possible for me to flash all the 13 space invaders of Marseille.
Marseille has been invaded 13 times devided in 3 invasion waves and the total points in Marseille is 220 points. The first invasion wave took place in the Summer of 2004 with in total 9 space invaders (2019)

This is one of the space invaders in Rotterdam which was presumed dead but has been re-activated this morning by space invader hunter and FlashInvaders player Joethecrab (ranking on number 6, 739 space invaders found and a score of 21,100 points as we speak) and yours truly (ranking on number 73, 269 space invader flashed and a score of 7,760 points). This 10 point black and white space invader was painted over for years and with a little help of us it has been re-activated again on the morning of April 16 on 09h33 in the morning. Looks like new and invaded yesterday. Though we say to ourselves!

THE INVASION OF ROTTERDAM
In the year 2001 the city of Rotterdam has been invaded by Invader. In 4 days Invader put 26 space invaders (1 hidden bonus) on the walls of Rotterdam. Sometimes hidden sometimes on very visible locations. I took some photos earlier but never put them on Flickr. Eight of the in total 25 space invader are still 'active' in 2015. Two were deleted in 2014 and 2 old new ones came back active (one re-activation and one became visible again due to the removal of a small billboard where it was hidden behind). Rotterdam was the 8th invaded city in the world.

Reason: Due to the addictive online game I have to revisit a lot of still 'flashable' space invaders in Paris. Because there are so many space invaders in Paris it is not possible to 'flash' (scan) them in one day. The only system for me is to flash them arrondissement by arrondissement in Paris. Apart from one I have finished the 19ème arrondissement this morning.

Personal Facts and Figures: I started this game on 30/01/2015 with flashing my 1st space invader. Soon after I flashed space invaders in Amsterdam (all 9), Brussel (still to be flashed), Lille (1) and Paris is still under flash-invasion by me. On 06/03/2015 I flashed my 100th space invader and my goal was to enter the Top 100 within a few months. This happened last week on 02/04/2015 by flashing 12 space invaders in the Marais. The morning when taking this selfie the personal intermediate position is 222 space invaders, 6520 points and on the 94th rank in the game.

Till this morning I found in total 60 space invaders in Marseille out of in total 97. I had to travel far outside the center to get some more on my list. I used a shared electric bicycle to drive along the coast in the direction of Montredon, Les Goudes and Callelongue. For this blue octopus on the Plage des Sablettes in Montredon I had to cycle 10 kilometers.
