PA_919 [20 points]

The famous French tricouleur appeared as a space invader in the 2nd arrondissement of Paris. How French can an invasion be? In 2011 however this one was deleted and therefor never 'flashable' with the application game FlashInvaders introduced in 2014. But thanks to the outstanding job of the re-activators this one is back in the street where it belongs and flashable.

INVASION OF VERSAILLES

After two massive invasions at the beginning of the 2017 with Rabat in Morocco and Malaga in Spain and not to forget Forcalquier in France, Invader decided a royal invasion in the land of Louis XIV, in VERSAILLES!

On the 07/06/2017 Invader put up the first invader in Versailles, followed on 13/06/2017 by three others. The first two waves were installed when I visited Versailles. Not realizing that the work was not done at all. After I left Versailles at the last day of my holiday road trip Invader came back 6 times and as we speak (*November 2017) the royal city of Versailles has 19 space invader pieces installed over 8 waves with a total points of 580.

The medieval centre of Amiens was certainly not missed by Invader. AMI_13 is located not far from Saint-Leu.

On June 12, 2025, the news came that the northern French city of Amiens had been visited by my favorite artist Invader. In total he installed 16 space invaders. In the days that followed, the idea came to visit Amiens on the weekend of June 28 and 29 to search, capture and flash them. And so it happened..

Hiding up in the clouds, PA_1431 is the highest space invader ever placed in Paris. It landed on the top of the Eiffel Tower in November 2019 where it enjoys the great view !

Since the news Invader invaded the top of the Tour Eiffel I had the plan to visit the top of this tower. Then we had the covid-19 pandemic and it was not possible to visit the top of this tower to gain 100 points at an altitude of 281 meters.

PA_683 [30 points]

In August 2006 Invader installed Q-Bert at this corner, codenamed PA_683. For years I thought this one has been deleted till Denis invited me to flash this one in the early morning of 11 February 2015. PA_683 hasn't been deleted at all but is hidden behind a marquise of bar restaurant La Dernière Séance which name is quite appropriate for this early morning adventure. Despite of the fact that I just started with the game FlashInvaders I was invited by Denis to join with some fellow space invader hunters, the 'Top 10' scorers of that game to 'flash' the hidden PA_683. My overnight for work in Paris allowed me to gather with the other space invader enthusiasts at 06h30 in the early cold Paris morning. A ladder was arranged with enables the others to scan Q-Bert PA_683 which is normally hidden from view.

Once again I like to thank Denis and the others for their invitation to share this special occasion to flash this one and to talk to the other pixel fans. I smiled the whole day as an after glow of this early morning space invader adventure.

I'm impressed by the scores of the 'Top 10' of the FlashInvaders game, number one has already scanned 750 space invaders (worth 22,200 points) and the others follow him with already more than 500 space invaders at least. I'm at rank 347 at the moment with 50 space invaders found (in 3 cities) and 1,680 points (13/02/2015).

This 50 points worth blue big space invader along the A557 became a personal milestone for FlashInvaders for me as this was my 1400th space invader flashed since I started this online game in 2015.

A lost space invader in the 16ème arrondissement of Paris. Wanted...dead or alive. The sign of the travel company Thomas Cook might be gone now (or soon) as Thomas Cook has been declared bankrupt. Bad news of September 2019.

PA_815 14/07/2020 20h25

This invader made in 2009 has been half damaged at this spot since 2011 and was renovated in February 2020. Remarkably, the space invader was always flashable with the application FlashInvaders even though it was badly damaged. Surrounded by art work of Dr. P (since 2015) and Oré (since 2010/2012).

A "space target" Invader used to make in the years 2005 to 2008 made with micro tiles on a corner in the 16ème arrondissement. This is already version 3.0 because the original was deleted somewhere in 2009. The re-activated one of 2015 has been deleted as well and we are here looking at the third one. The location itself is fragile as well.

RTD_18 [10 points]

One of the space invaders in Rotterdam of which I have never seen the original. Thanks to the excellent work of the re-activators I was able to experience, capture and flash the last space invaders possible in Rotterdam. Only one will never be activated, the hidden RTD_26 which seems to be near Rotterdam Centraal Station.

THE INVASION OF ROTTERDAM

In the year 2001 the city of Rotterdam has been invaded by Invader. It was the 8th city in the world being invaded. In 4 days Invader put 26 space invaders (1 hidden bonus) on the walls of Rotterdam. Sometimes hidden sometimes on very visible locations. In June 2020 three space invaders were re-activated (RTD_01, 18, 22) which made it possible to have flashed almost all 26 space invaders of Rotterdam. Except for the hidden RTD_26 which will never be re-activated because it was located on a wall near the Centraal Station. The area is redevelopped and the wall isn't there anymore.

Visible from two sides. One from the outside and one from the inside of the muros around Paris. FlashInvaders asks "NEXT NOW?" when flashing this duo.

PA_357 [10 points]

These are not the original remains of PA_357 but the remains of a re-activation in 2017 or 2018. See below for an explication of Archi & Philou, the location of the re-activation is also be a bit modified. About 18 tiles are missing but this one was still "flashable" with the app FlashInvaders during my revisit of this one. But after almost 19 years this is more space invader archeology.

RBA_13 [40 points]

In the spring of 2017, 20 space invaders were placed in the Moroccan capital in four days (15/03/2017 to 18/03/2017), of which there are currently (* August 2025) 9 left. My score is 8/20 as we didn't know the location of RBA_14 during our hunt.

This "tajine" space invader is lovated at the corner of the Place Melilia and Avenue Abdelmoumen opposite the Jardin Nouzhat Hassan.

Album on FlickR:

« This is Mehdi »

Mehdi had flashed all known still flashable space invaders before and guided me along the 6 new ones for me. I haven't discovered the app FindInvaders the time of our visit.

A very high above the ground (8th floor!) double black and white space invader. Another space invader worth 100 points in the same street installed in 2016 (the other one is PA_1205, "house is in da house").

Visited on the perfect moment of the day, the early morning.

This huge project was number 3378 in the world made by Invader.

PA_1137 [30 points]

A new BubbleBobble space invader near Paris. In the same night Invader installed PA_1136 and PA_1138 in the same night. The story behind the fact that I was so quick to find this one was the fact that I found this one of Instagram when I was on my way to Paris and I was Lucky enough to have a 2-hour break which enabled me to travel to this location a bit outside Paris (North-East).

CAZ_10 [10 points]

Not that many beaches in the world have been 'invaded' by Invader. One of the 48 beaches of Antibes has been invaded. This one is the result of a re-activation as the original of 2007 had been deleted. Had to wait half an hour for direct sunlight which was no problem, waiting at the waterfront was not a problem. Parking was a huge problem here. "WELL PLAYED" is the message of FlashInvaders when you find this one.

INVASION OF THE CÔTE D’AZUR

In the year 2007 Invader has invaded the entire coast of the French Rivièra. Instead of only one city he made a project of an entire region; Côte d’Azur. Spread out from La Ciotat to the Menton near the border of Italy.

The first wave consisted of 35 space invaders spread out over 24 cities with a total score of 990 points. In 2016 Invader put one invader up in Cavalaire-sur-Mer (CAZ_36) and in 2017 wave number 3 consisted another single one (CAZ_37).

Lots of them have been deleted throughout the years but there are already are about 9 space invaders re-activated.
