I was looking thru my sunset pictures and in one of them I had recorded a green flash as the sun dipped thru the sea and below the horizon. This effect is much more obvious in the tropics with clear seas and stronger sun.
Tragically this T-28 crashed yesterday at an airshow killing veteran air force pilot Jack Mangan. This really has been such a terrible year for the airshow community.
The shot here was taken last year in Waukegan IL

Striker Bill Dearden features on the cover of a 16-page Sheffield United programme (6p) issued in April 1973 for a visit to Bramall Lane by First Division rivals Coventry City. A 19,992 crowd saw Blades win 3-1. The goalkeeper captured diving at Dearden's feet is Crystal Palace's John Jackson.

New light stand, flash bracket and umbrella. I have the black backing off of the umbrella for shooting through it. The squirrel on the floor did not come with the kit. Neither did the texting teenager. The cat is on the back of the couch getting ready for the photoshoot.

Experimenting with flash.
In this shot the flash was on the ground, I didn't really like the shadows. Soo I took the gas cylinder that's behind me in the trolley and used that as a flash stand when taking this shot which I prefer.

Solar Spectrum during total eclipse, Objective Mounted Diffraction Grating, OMD EM5, 150mm, iso200. Taken through aircraft window which caused significant distortion. Helium was first discovered on the Sun from the prominent Helium line indicated. The green Coronal band (label Iron 13) was initially considerecd to represent a new element (Coroninum) but was later identified as Iron thirteen times ionised at 1.5 X10^6 K - establishing the high temperature of the Solar Corona which is still being explained and conjectured about. the plum tree with snow by flash.....had to have it in blue! I'm on a deck at the same level as these branches, which are coming towards me.....I think it's a strange, scii-fi kind of effect.
Corgi, Flash was a shy guy and took a lot of persuasion to accept me (and my camera) and pose. I just knew as soon as i saw him how photogenic he'd be though.... and the little guy didn't disappoint.
