I did not realize I captured any of this until after we returned home. The cloud deck seemed unlikely to produce a green flash. Taken the evening of July 11, 2010, after the eclipse. First of a series of four shots taken as the sun set beyond the clouds.
This is just before color began to show.
A similar effect where a green flash occurred over the tops of clouds was more-recently reported on spaceweather.com.

Upping my bird game IQ by placing flashes in surrounding foliage, in attempt to bring out more detail.
My first Civil War Battle! Went out to Ft Simcoe on the Yakima Indian Reservation fo the day and watched several battles and got to learn about what the people went through. It was very educational!

I took part in the Manchester Weekender 2012 presents All in a Flash - a one day photography exhibition on the 14th october 2012.
Under the guidance of Len Grant, we tried to capture the characters of the Manchester Northern Quarter.
My theme was people at work within the Northern Quarter.
After taking photographs for a couple of hours, we each had a single shot printed out and took part in an exhibition flashmob - best described as a guerilla gallery.
Unfortunately only one shot was printed, so this gallery is an opportunity to say thank you to some of the other people that were kind enough to let me take their photograph.
We have a game we play with the neighbor kids. As part of the Covid-19 Isolation ... I put out toys near the creek and give the kids clues.
They hunt the toys and re-hide them.
Sometimes they add toys.
This truck was originally upstream about 50 ft. and piled with rocks.
I found it after quite a bit of searching.
The original photo is in the comments....as well as the Teddy Bear that was up on a high log. The Teddy is missing, but I did find the tiny rubber dinosaur!
I guess Mother Nature wanted to play Treasure Hunt also.

For this weeks Never Professional group challenge 'Graffiti'.
I finally managed to get out and take some new pictures for a challenge!
I've taken pictures of graffiti before and so this time I wanted to do something different which led me to have a go with some off camera flash.
I wanted to add some urban grit style as well as bring out the textures. I'm really pleased with how these first attempts came out, shot without flash the scene looked nothing like this.
It's not the best example of artistic graffiti, unfortunately the bridge I was heading for had been painted over!

Trying some flash photography. Cut a red solo cup bottom off, put the bottom over flash then, the rest over the other part of the flash. Natural red. no filters!
A net hanging in a boat house in Sörmland in Sweden. First I used wo flash but with so little light it was difficult (no support). Instead I used the built-in flash that is usually not a good idea for macro. But it created kind of a light curtain in the background.
A Flash is a water-filled hollow formed by subsidence.
Pennington Flash is a 70-hectare (170-acre) lake created at the turn of the 20th century by coal mining subsidence, mainly from Bickershaw Colliery. Before the flash the area contained two farms, both of which were abandoned in the early 1900s due to flooding.
During the 1960s and 1970s the idea to convert the flash for recreation was emerging and the country park was opened in 1981.
The track in front of the car was once the trackbed of the London and North Western Railway's Westleigh Line.
