Flash is available for adoption in Northern Virginia, USA, through HART .

Flash and Tigger were adopted from HART as a tiny kittens. They are about 7 years old now. Their humans got divorced and left them behind. Flash is a sweet, gentle soul who is a bit shy about all of these big changes in her life.

Who says you can't use a camera-mounted flash with a 10mm fisheye ?!

Test of an inexpensive Neewer LED Macro Ring Flash FC100. The subject is about 3cm across and is a tricky one - shiny brass. At this distance the flash works well with a shutter speed of 1/160th, f8, ISO 200 but the flash lacks power. If I move away to a distance of half a metre I can't get a decent shot at ISO 200 even at f2.8, the flash isn't powerful enough. But for the money it's very good for real macro work.

Nooo... this is not part of my weekly self portraits... this is too serious. SERIOUSLY! LOL

Mirror flash bounced on the right side.

I just held the flash out to my side and walked down the road.

I'm desperately trying to love my flash. There's gotta be a reason why it's there, right? The only times I really have to shoot my 365 is early morning or late night so flash has to be an acquaintance if not a friend. I had to reshoot tonight because I hated the way they came out this morning. If you want a good workout, do jumping pictures with you timer. Getting your jump synchronized with when the camera takes the pictures is tough. Maybe there's a trick I am missing that everyone else knows.

This morning I saw a guy who was way too big for his motorcycle with a blue feather for a tail. I love the bay area. hahaha.

[Flash Work] hummmm...

I found this fine old Ansco Shur-Flash without the flash. I'm on a quest now to find that piece to reunite the set. Since this camera takes 120 film, I'll also be on a quest to get some of that bought, shot and shown.

Added a little bit of soft-focus to this image to project a more nostalgic feeling.

From the barrel of my Sig Sauer.

A friend fired my gun while I took the shot on tripod, a 3 second exposure, just long enough to capture the flash.

This quilt was made with Artisan Cottons by Windham Fabrics. She is about 40.5" square after washing. The Artisan Cottons are shot cottons, with a weight similar to quilting cotton.

I thought the cheap macro flash I was trying out (Opteka RL-600) would not be suitable for use with the MPE-65 at high magnifications as it seemed to stick too far forward of the lens thus severely reducing the working distance. However I found I could mount it behind the front of the lens using a ring of camping mat to wedge it on. Facing the twin lights inwards then seemed to work fine.
