E nem estava Sol qdo eu passei. Pq o Flash Back não precisa de Sol não, minha gente! Ele brilha até embaixo da cama! Diria que na luz amarela o efeito é praticamente igual a luz solar. Mtoooo lindo!
Mas nem o Astro Rei resistiu a esse lindo... Passei ontem e hj, qdo ia fazer as fotos, saiu um Sol lindooooooo! Consequência: fiquei mais de meia hora em dúvida de qual foto postava... E essas fotos foram tiradas na minha janela, numa frestinha de luz que estava batendo ali.
Os Laylas são, com certeza absoluta, os esmaltes mais holográficos da minha coleção!
Precisa dizer que eu AMEI? Não vejo a hora de usar o prata Mercury Twilight!!! Mto amor esses Laylas!

Shot with a one light setup, a cord-triggered SunPak 555 flash on a tripod aimed upward and away at a full sheet of foam core, and two reflectors. 1/4 power, 18 inches from the surface, 3 feet from the model. Light was bounced under her chin and from camera left from the source. With a Nikon D3000 and kit lens.

Class 47 47277 (formerly D1979) at Holbeck. Notice what looks like a pipe just above the centre of the cab window - this was one of two 47's (the other was 47373) equipped with remote-control, slow-speed control and flashing amber light for use on MGR trains in power stations

The flash with the heads mounted on the reversed and gutted rear lens cap.
The system of velcro actually works really well and gives me lots of options for mounting the flash on other setups.
I've made one other velcro thing for my lens hood of the 70-300.
The next photo is from this setup.
The only big issue here is that the flash guts can't handle the current and one of the little containers of smoke broke, letting out that precious blue smoke and now it doesn't work :(
However, I did have a much larger and older flash gun just sitting around. So I ripped out the bulb and wired the cable into it, so it should be more reliable and sturdy.
Overall, I am impressed with this little job. It went well and the final product was as good as I expected it to be.
My next effort will be better and prettier, this will do for now.
All plugged in and powered up!
You can't quite make out the ready light unfortunately but you should be able to see the LCD screen.

Pick a random subject and light it, I thought. I figured that surely the Flash itself should figure in my very first shot of the week so played around with some coloured Gels (a small sheet of coloured plastic to alter the colour output).

Speedlight 580exii fired via pocket wizards at 14mm, 1/128th power.
What even is that one? Is that the Merode Altarpiece? No, now that I think of it, it's a different one.
EDIT: It's the Ghent Altarpiece. A+++ for me. :)
The building blocks for my flash power mod:
One battery charger adapter cable and a random plastic part thats main shaft just happened to be the same size as an AA battery!
The charger has a 3.5mm mono plug for some reason and this adapter allows it to connect directly to the battery terminals which are the spade lug style. I had hoped to use the charger as a direct power source but for some reason it took more than 10sec's to recharge the flash (I turned it off after that time thinking something wasn't right, although it had charged it initially and fired ok).

This is a Ruger Redhawk chambered in .44 Magnum. The Muzzle flash was so big that you can't see the gun! Not photoshopped.

360 joules is the standard energy level for cardiac resusitation. Trained operators can up the energy level from the defribulator on subsequent attempts. This was an attemp too far! ...Just too many joules.
We had a group shoot at the Kincaid sand dunes in West Anchorage in July 2011. This may have been our best shoot of the season; absolutely great day, warm, sunny, no wind, excellent lighting, and incredible models - most of them were brand new to us.
We met Mandi at our Salon Nirvana shoot - she is a stylist there and several of the shooters feel in love with her there - well we thought she was incredibly photogenic so Mandi joined us at the dunes - and we are so glad she did. As soon as you meet her you notice her gorgeous eyes and smile - and she is so funny. She was a little bit nervous during the shoot (this was her first shoot) but she did fine. I would absolutely love to shoot with her again - come on Mandi, bring it on!
Strobist info: I used two flash units, a Canon 580 EX II at 1/2 power and a Vivitar 285 HV at 1/4 power positioned at 45 degree angles from Mandi at a distance of 10-12 feet. I noticed some shadow on Mandi's face so I'll have to take her back out on the dunes - what a bummer!
Update: h2testw reveals that the flash drive is fake. After 6.9 GB of testing, the device disappears due to an error. On Linux, that error is multiple lines of something like "device descriptor read/64, error -110"
